clicked that notif within 0.1s 😤
Janggut laksa at Queensway Shopping Centre, should have a good shout for '3 plates'
when I tried it (twice) in the past months ... it was good ..... But I preferred the version from their nearby competitor - it's the broth
Man the last 2 mins got my heart pumping
after 6 episodes, i realize perfect bowl of laksa is such a tough concept to define
There is no perfect bowl. The true laksa is the life lessons we learnt along the way - spicy and sandy.
Laksa Speedrun. Respect!
I started this series predicting that laksa variance is not big. And this would be a weak series.
But i find myself feeling your frustration now and am now invested in your hero’s quest to find a 3p laksa.
Where you go. I will follow!
thanks for the support!
I like thin beehoon, tau pok, cockles, prawns, fish cake, laksa leaves. Not too spicy that it’s overwhelming the haebee and sweetness of the broth, not too thick, smooth easy to drink.
Thanks
thank you for the support!
You choose bee hoon, it drained away yr broth,
You choose yellow noodles, it taste alkaline
You choose kway teow, it turn mushy
E noodles din make the mark, so don’t u think using thick bee hoon is a brilliant idea? It don’t drain yr soup, it doesn’t interfere with the flavour of the soup, and it doesn’t turn mushy
Yeah, it just tasteless, the best downside indeed.
Ayam buah keluak is one of my fav nyonya dishes!
I get you or u got me at your prawn point🤣 oh and lol the teaspoon of broth part and the ingredients part. Same criteria of a good bowl of laksa!
This whole series almost feels like a mid-life crisis lmao.Good thing is 3 noodles won't be given out so easily compared to other series so it's a higher prestige
well at least laksa won't leave you and any effort you put in brings you closer to solving the crisis.
Hi Alderic, if you would consider going to Malacca again, please try this place called 啡一般茶室 / d'leetcious. The Laksa here has Laksa leaves, is not too thick and the prawns are also deshelled.
Also, if there's anyone else from Malacca, can try to recommend him good places to go so that he can have a more meaningful trip!
Nice lah, appreciate the effort in trying all those food for us!
Alderic try this laksa in jb
Restoran Lee Heng ,only opens until 10am ish, good shout for 3 plates
i actually quite like toastbox laksa, i wont say its the best (no cockles etc) but it tastes of nostalgia for me for some reason and with the rare laoshufen
I always order Toastbox laksa as well…. It’s pretty good!
lowkey mee tai bak might be the GOAT-ed noodle for laksa, but don't say I said.
@@Alderic. i screenshot liao bro
yay! one of my fav youtubers
Love the laksa speedrun 😂
Noting down that Ep6 is when Alderic broke down. 😂
The perfect Laksa is slurpable, strong laksa leaf smell and taste, soupy, has lemak coconuty taste, strong seafood dried shrimp flavour, with thicc ass pre-cut bee hoon cause they dont suck the delectable soup away from you and have the slippery texture AND you can scoop it and eat WITH the broth, topped with must-have cockles and beancurd puffs.
Hey Alderic, I enjoyed this episode, u made me laughed. 😂 why so hard to find a good bowl of laksa!? Thanks for helping us to check it out (QC) so we don’t have to. And I agree with u on the part that prawns should be peeled.
Please eat Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei Laksa with yellow noodle, I really think it'll fit your flavor request
I heard this stall was very good last time
Looking forward to the 3 plates laksa hope you find it soon!
seems like you ran out of 'lak'-sa to find a 3 plates at Melaka. appreciate your go-all-out attitude to try everything as always
janggut FROM ROXY SQUARE👍👍👍
Might as well try Laksa Goreng now…
I crave for laksa the most on the day after a night of heavy drinking. There is just something about the spicyness and just the right amount of coconut creaminess that seems to soothe and cleanse my stomach. Not sure why I'm writing this, but wondering if this could help you capture the "mood" or taste of what we really want from a bowl of laksa?
I'll try my best. I have a pretty clear idea of the laksa I want by now, hopefully I can convey it properly.
Wah why got FF16 OST at the back pretty sick ahahahha
whuts dis realisation arc when the MC ponders and questions his/her choices made, bef like a villain arc
Alderic having identity crisis it seems 🤣
You could have visited Taiwan instead. Jimmy Lim's Chope Chope (Taipei), which serves Seafood Laksa, is recognized by Michelin. Jimmy Lim is the first Singaporean chef to achieve three Michelin stars in JL Studio in Tai Chung, Taiwan.
Try genting dream cruise blue lagoon laksa. Damn good
alderic pls try 505 sembawang-yishun laksa!!!!
U ok? Sounding nasal and down with a cold. Hope ur doing well! Great video as always!❤So fun to watch u deviate from the rest of ur series to try and get the laksa u truly want 😂!
Haha he already sounds better
thanks for the concern! managed to recover some hp towards the end of the trip, 100% now!
there is a noodle stall that sells laksa at this KIMLY coffee shop 345 Clementi Ave 5, Block 345, Singapore 120345. The same coffee shop also has a claypot rice stall. (last order 8pm) Order the small and ask the lady to top up $2 or $3 ingredients!
The pai tee incident was hillarious. Looking at you honestly trying to do it in 1 bite but failed really cracked me up. But my question is this. Who eats laksa with beehoon and complains no broth? It's like eating chilli but complaining its spiciness 😂
Alamak, a true prawn eater knows how to eat prawns without using hands.
Try hai nan story chapter 1’s hae bee hiam laksa!
Please do try sarawak laksa version
Imagine buah keluak in laksa. Hmmm
Seems like Malaysia version is too different from our Singapore version
This series got my man desperate af 😂
Bro, have been following you and enjoying your content. I would like to share laksamana is equivalent to admiral. It is not meant laksa-mana, which mean “where laksa?”. Keep up the good work..
I’m from Melaka and would like to propose 486 Baba Low. Enjoy!!
thank you for sharing! yeah I knew actually, just wanted to make some silly wordplay haha. and thanks for the recommendation!
Maybe visit a school canteen and get that authentic laksa, chances are it’s probably gone by now.
I know what you're referring to and Aunty Nance's is the closest to that profile.
1:54 LMAOOOOO😭😭😭
Are you doing a penang arc?
not this time unfortunately.
3:41 WTF LAMOOOOOOOO😂😂😂
Alderic u too funny
glad someone caught it haha
U guys didn't cover BESS? wat the hell
U guys know that Yung Lai Siang is the younger brother of Aunty Nance right?
I didn't know this. I suspected they were related because there was a 'formerly known as Yung Lai Siang' on the Aunty Nance signboard and the 2 bowls of laksas were too similar.
bro spedrun melaka laksa
SCOOT LAKSA ON THE TRIP BACK AND JANGGUT PLS PLS PLS
Maybe you could just eat the prawn shell?
Find the flame baby
bro you want a good bowl of laksa with the right notes, this: "85 redhill teochew fishball noodles" try their laksa broth. dont even need to film it.
Re: 7:32 . Yes Alderic, Valid! By the way, what is your basis for saying that malacca laksa is the origin place of singapore laksa (I'm not refuting your claim, just want to be clear)? Could it be that these are two separate styles of nyonya laksa that actually developed independently, just like malaccan peranakan, penang peranakan, singapore peranakan are separate threads of malayan peranakan??
possible! mainly, I read off wiki and secondly, the godfather of Singaporean laksa married a Nyonya. I'd have to consult a historian for the truth but I'm happy enough with the current explanation.
@@Alderic. After just checking with Chef Phil (consultant for The Little Nyonya) and another knowledgeable Peranakan, here is my current understanding, to which I'm open to corrections:
1. Yes, Singapore laksa likely originated in Melaka. However, the former has evolved sufficiently away from the latter that they are no longer expected to be the same dish. This is akin to Thailand, HK, Singapore, KL having distinct versions of wanton mee, and HK wanton mee not being more legitimate/authentic than any of the other versions due to enough time having passed since the dish was first exported out of Canton.
2. While Melaka laksa and Singapore laksa are both "Nyonya laksa", ironically, this label is now more associated with latter than the former simply because Singapore is the heavier-weight city than Melaka, haha.
3. Laksa in both Singapore and Melaka originally and still generally uses laksa leaves; the bowls omitting it are likely a modern deviation (abberation?). However, do note that the nickname "laksa leaves" (for Daun Kesum or Vietnamese coriander) was coined after the dish, not vice versa, so do not assume that every laksa _essentially_ contains laksa leaves, for example Sarawak laksa does not require laksa leaves; incidentally, the laksa that has the densest concetration of laksa leaves is probably Kelantan laksa.
4. It was Singapore who started adding cockles to laksa, and the bowls in Melaka containing cockles are either trying to cater to Singaporeans or at least inspired by Singapore laksa. That is, whether or not "Nyonya laksa" contains cockles depends on whether you mean Melaka laksa or Singapore laksa.
5. A related analogy: even though India's paratha is similar (not identical) to Malayan prata (roti canai), it's arguable whether the former is the origin of or more authentic than the latter: if I want to find the best representation of prata, I would stick to Singapore/Malaysia and exclude India.
Laksa just ain’t it for you Alderic 😂
Can I survive in KL by myself with only English? I want to travel there so bad but not sure if I can get away with only speaking english
Can
Yes sure that would work ok 👌
100%. I think KL is so "city" that you can get around without talking.
For the pai tee, maybe it can fit as a one bite if you eat it from the bottom. Maybe you should have ordered a bowl of rice to go with the ayam buah keluat. It is possible to de-shell a prawn of that size without using hands.
I just rewatched a few steak videos of yours, is that why nowadays you always say if you dont pay for it you wont talk about it? xD also rip laksa is too broad nowadays since so many ppl have their own versions
it's just to let the viewers know. The steak series was also completely unsponsored along with the other "Best" series.
nissin cup noodles laksa
9:03 Alderic is a broken man ;(
Singapore no more laksa?
4 more!
Jalan Laksa-mana?
it's some silly wordplay, the real meaning is 'admiral' if you didn't already know.
Bruh what's your canon event?
maplestory
probably being bad at most things in life, disappointing the people around me and then realizing no matter what happens, I always get hungry and excited for my next meal.
@@Alderic. at least youre good at articulating yourself and vlogging your passion!
@@tenglei2 i second this..
Oei I think I need unsubscribe. I haven’t had laksa in years cos so unhealthy. Watch few of your fantastic videos, then cannot tahan went to eat nasi lemak and laksa multiple times. F-tier channel. 10/10 would watch again. Pls make more videos thanks.
hahaha possibly blacklisted by HPB by now.
As a malaccan, I see your recommendation list and laughed. Good also that you don’t know the really good ones. Locals can continue enjoying the good ones without need to face huge crowds.😂
all right then, keep your secrets ^^
how good is your good.. laksa tastes like laksa. Even malaysians cant make this dish really nice. Its got this distinct flavour that you will get bored if u eat it more than once a month.
Malacca good food = rest of malaysia shit food anyway LMAO
I think a normal person will just bite into the shrimp and spit out the shell. Won't use hand. Skill issue Alderic 😂
He's orally inadequate? 😅😂
U just got skill issue with eating with unpeeled prawns lol
Appreciate the effort so far alderic 🫡🫡
