This is the kind of music this guitar is made for. I picked one up a few years ago and I cannot believe the amount of different tones this guitar can make. For those of you that want one guitar that can do it all, it’s this one. It even sounds great acoustically. Coil taps and low medium output pickups allow you to really customize your sound.
I love my 594 Hollowbody II -such great quality, superb playability and beautiful tones from a stunning looking instrument... Its considered a 'Hollowbody' (not a Semi-hollow as you keep calling it) as it only has a block under the bridge. Its made from 'Solid' woods - inc the Mahogany sides as they cut the middle out of a slab of Mahogany to leave just the sides. The top and back are 'solid' Maple but carved -not Laminates and pressed to create the 'archtop' like a 335. The Clue is in the name!!
I just bought both a Core Semi-Hollow "Special" and a Private Stock 594 Hollow I, with Brazilian fretboard .. and OMH am I in love with both of these beauties. I can't put them down.
Beautiful guitar and really great playing. My shoulder was hurting after a previous injury from a good workout yesterday and the piece at 4:50 was the perfect lullaby to help me go back to sleep.

I’m a sucker for green guitars. It’s beautiful and you made it sound beautiful. I have a gold top DGT a custom 22 soap bar with a flamed maple fretboard and neck and an S2 studio. All unique and vintage sounding.
Beautiful guitar - No doubt about it! I personally lean towards the Gibson ES 335 and similar sized semi acoustic style guitars. I suspect the additional body real estate makes a difference to some degree in tone, but I could be wrong lol. Great intro as always, Jon - A real pleasure to listen too.
Totally agree with your perspective on PRS. It was always a company I would never go near as they had all these associations with elitism, snobbery and even ‘nu metal’ lol. The 594 is making it more difficult for me to ignore them. Silver sky too. I think young people growing up now won’t think of PRS in the same way as I did. I still find myself holding back though, thinking ‘I can’t go to the dark side’ But in truth I really want one.
@@dsteele5530 you know, I ended up thinking I would rather have an SE hollowbody 2 than a Gibson 339. As it happens I’m just saving for a regular 594 first. But yes, I can see it becoming my new guitar. Will almost certainly want one with soap bars next!
Around the middle of the video you say that the McCarty 594 is your favorite PRS, how does this McCarty Hollowbody II compare do you think it adds or substracts for the 594? I'm debating between the 2 (and also the Special semihollow), I'd love your input.
Hi, I might be wrong but I believe that the model in the video is a Hollowbody 2, not the semi hollow, as the semi hollow has only one f hole.by the way, wonderful guitar and exquisite playing!
@@JonIsJustTooLoudHi, I ended up buying exactly the same model and colour. I love my guitar! Thank you very much for your inspiring video and exquisite playing. Ciao! Gaetano
Hi Jon it's just amazing watching u play those guitars in any tune. Btw would u mind, what is that backing track u used in the song segment of this review? Tnx
Love that sound! Wow, amazing guitar and amazing music and tones 🤩. One of your best demos, so complete, that's a super versatile guitar and you demonstrated it 👏👏👏. Ms. Janet, thanks for letting Jon to offer us this PRS festival! 🎸👍
The official explanation is that the non-locking don’t weigh as much as the locking, and because it’s a non-trem guitar it doesn’t “need” them. (But I always switch them out because *I* need them, for quality of life.)
Fantastic playing Jon, just tremendous. even so, I don't think the anti PRS rant was justified. Its very clear that guitars like you are playing take a lot of making, time, effort and cost, It is sad that some musicians cant afford them, but thats life 😞
Needless to say Jon does not need a PRS to sound great and musical. Very true that PRS has an elitist bent and of course all Paul Reed Smith guitars are monstrously expensive but I guess just as pricey as all the other USA made guitars like Gibson, Fender and Taylor I guess higher labour costs
I got one 4 years ago and sold or gave away all my other guitars. It does everything. Mine is the black gold wrap burst and it's always looked and felt like a fuckin Stradivarius. It's the sort of guitar you never feel quite worthy of. I'm not a 'PRS guy' but this particular model, with the black gold burst and those pickups? That's as good as guitars get, IMHO.
Beautiful guitar and brilliant playing. Some of the best tones I’ve heard in ages.
Thank you kindly!

That guitar has tone for days! Jon just takes it to the next level.

I have been thinking about McCarty 594s a bit lately. The song you played showed it well, really sweet sounds.
thanks!

Thank you guys.. much obliged✌️❤️
I had both as well. Sold the Gibson bought an Eastman 486. It out Gibson Gibson by a mile. Still the 594 is beyond better than both
I'M FAN...NICE PLAYING GREATINGS FROM ANTWERP BELGIUM

Lol David.. as for me.. I have only a very few models that I really like.✌️❤️
I used to be the same way. Now I own 9 different models. Half are SE’s and they are better than most of my high priced Gibsons

Hi Lovely sound and playing. Could you please tell your gear apart from lovely PRS. Thanks
Line 6 Helix Native ✌️❤️
That’s a gorgeous guitar Jon. There’s a lovely ring to the tone. Way out of my paygrade but a guy can dream 😍😄. The intro was fantastic 👍🙏❤️😄
Thank you Tom✌️❤️
Beautiful guitar! Love it!!!
Just one detail: it is not a semihollow body, it is built as a thin hollowbody guitar.
Yes Diego.. I was confused with the other SE semi hollow!! My bad😜
WOW 🎸👍🏽👍🏽

Belle présentation de la guitare Jon, est-ce que les musiques de fond sont tes composition?
Merci!! non..la composition est de moi mais j'utilise une piste d'accompagnement

I am concerned about the tuners... at this price why didn't they put locking tuners on the guitar???
Beats me ✌️❤️

they gave up the locking tuners...wow. At that price?

Some times it’s just a matter of “ I’ll charge higher prices.. people will still buy” plain and simple😝
PRS calls these "hollowbody" -- is this really a semihollow?
It’s a hollow body with a center block ✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Yeah, same as Gibsons ES and so on, then. Thanks!
Hey! Wait a minute. Are you on the PRS payroll? They do make great guitars...for great men like yourself.
Cheers, Dear Brother.
