He's a total trainwreck,not only here,just watch the live videos from last summer,he's wasted on stage,screwing up his own guitar solos.Bon Jovi continued the tour without him and had huge success.Actually Phil X brought new fans to the band and kicked arse live,while was playing ''daytime deathslots'' at various festivals & small clubs,butchering his band's old hits.To be honest,I don't feel sorry for him,at all,he ruined his career by himself.But I feel sorry for Orianthi,because he's gonna drag her down the gutter with him & she's a really talented musician. :-(
Well i second almost everything you have said. Richie in his prime was even more talented and versatile than Slash but he put a knife in his own throat. I always wonder why this dude never put out 10 solo albums back in the day. As for Orianthi, the good thing is that she is still young and she can dump Sambora any given day of the week and start re-focusing in her career.
Paco Chuquiure You know why he never started a solo-career back in the day?He knew that it's very difficult to leave a big band and have success solo,unless you're the ''star'' of the band.The ''star'' of Bon Jovi is Jon Bon Jovi,just like the ''star'' of VH is Eddie.G'n'R' on the other hand had 2 ''stars'' Axl & Slash,that's why the band broke up,you can only have 1 ''star'' in a band & that's why Slash had success afterwards.So he stayed in Bon Jovi & made tons of money,then he got in some sort of ''Charlie Sheen''-midlife crisis & ruined it all.Oh and about Orianthi,I believe it's too late for her.Despite all her talent & the promotion from Santana,Vai,PRS guitars & the M.Jackson movie,her career went nowhere.Now,after she degraded herself as his ''toygirl'',the rock & guitar fans will never take her seriously as a musician in the future and it's a shame. :-(

i would say he seemed kind of lost and erratic. I think he is on the booze since his departure from Bon Jovi. Probably he was wasted.
