Oh m god the moment he pushes that lady out of the plane was always one of my favorite movie gags EVER and now I find out it wasn't in the original release?! 😂
I remember this on the T.V. cut and thought it was a shame they cut it from the final film. Plus, it was a callback to the scene in the first film with the patient played by Ethel Merman who thinks he's Ethel Merman.
I definitely like some of these and, if the editing was a bit tighter, they'd have improved Airplane 2 some. But they're all a little loose on the comic timing and a few don't land at all. But wonderful to see! Thanks for this!
In the deleted scene with the Bomber and his wife, you see the signs for the various classes to start the scene. That can still be seen in the background where people are asking the information agent questions.
I didn't realize that was the same guy who was with the Commissioner in other scenes. Of course, the flaw here is that Reagan would not still be President.
This could be an alternate timeline where they amended the amendment where a present can only serve two terms here. Reagan did not get Alzheimer’s and die.
I can see why some of these scenes were cut. Lloyd Bridges picking the wrong time to go senile and Striker's empty hospital bed with the newspaper are excellent though: they should have kept them in.
Some of these were pretty funny; I wouldn’t mind seeing some of these restored for the film. I quite like the “Looks like I picked the wrong week to go senile” line.
This was a great sequel every bit as funny as the first Airplane and having William Shatner as the commander of our Moon Base was brilliant that part of the movie was hilarious.
They should've kept the scene where Testa tries to grab the guy's arm and fails. This shows why one of the crew members is not wearing a jacket when Striker sees them outside.
One of the best scenes for me and we all have differe t things that tickle us, is the bit with the pilots. Capt Oveur, Dunne erc 😂. So i wish they kept that one at least damn
I know they say brevity is the soul of wit but at the same time, I don’t mind the film being longer with extra jokes if they work. Problem is, half the time, they act like these “non-essential” scenes are form of shame and hide them away from the public viewing rather than preserved in deleted scenes menus. This means the only way the public can view and make their own decisions is if they were fortunate to have had one of the alt cuts from tv recorded. Imagine the fan edits that could be made to save some of the underrated gems.😃
It's all about seats per day. A film longer than 2 hours in length is discouraged because the number of shows in a theater is less than a film less than 2 hours in length. You have the length of the film plus at least 45 minutes to exit the previous viewers, enter the new viewers, and show the previews before you start the film again. Many of the deleted shots were re-makes of the gags from the original film. When it's time to cut fluff, stuff already done would be the first to trim.
@Fadamor That has nothing to do with what I said. My comment was about how the extra stuff in films like this get buried and never let out. Think how many films have their unused material aired out in one way or another for audiences to experience now that we’re past the VHS era. What’s more, for spoof films like this are cutting out good stuff in a bad call edit. I’m particularly appalled by some of the lost jokes from the first 2 _Naked Gun_ films that deserved to make the cut. As for the issue of 2+ hours, that logic hasn’t been true for nearly 3 decades now and was the reason James Cameron had to sacrifice parts of his creative vision for _Aliens_ because his friend told him it was too long for audiences to tolerate. Now regarding *this* film, the whole thing is a bit of sequelitis and I’m not sad to particularly lose any of these from the film but the preservation of them still to behold should not be lost. Also, the film is 85 minutes. Adding any of this back would only make it 96 minutes.
@@MichaelAarons1701 The film length has nothing to do with whether the audiences can tolerate it, and everything to do with how many showings a theater can jam into the opening weekend to maximize opening weekend box office reports. It's all about the Benjamins. Films are cut down to the supposed "ideal" length to maximize audience turnover per day. The Editor does the cutting at the direction of the Producer(s) - with some input from the Director who's been told, "The film will be shortened to X:XX so what can you live without?" Your only hope is that they release a "Director's Cut" when it goes to BluRay because then the edits usually get put back in.
@@Fadamor You’re the only who seems hung up on runtime. My original comment on this video was about deleted scenes and they’re like a Clinton personal server. I don’t give fuck how long a film is or how many times it’s shown in a day to maximize profits. I did mention the home video market above, didn’t I?! None of the spoof film DVD’s I’ve seen tend to have deleted scenes menus that often.
@MichaelAarons1701 My comments were related to your original statement complaining about how these cuts were considered non-essential. I was explaining why they were considered not essential. Once again, about the only way to get most - if not all - of the clips back where they're supposed to be is if they release a "Director's Cut". Otherwise you're just pissing at the moon.
For time, I guess. Some of the deletions were stupid because they explained stuff that went on, like the Sarge's point. McCroskey had asked for the Sarge and this is the payoff.
Most people who did not watch these movies on TV were not deleted scenes, I remember watching most of these "deleted scenes" on TV, and I do not mean family TV, but cable. And no, not Mandela Effect either; get a life people.
The conveyor belt scene would have been way better with pretty girls lying on it. I am glad one scene especially did not make the movie--the one where the girl is pushed off the plane. Bad scene. The scene of Chad Everett leaving despite beauty Julie Haggerty's protests and pleas has been inserted into some copies of the film.
Man, they cut some funny stuff. Glad it was preserved some how
Yes exactly...i saw this in theatre back in day..big fan ...amazing seein this footage now..so cool
Some of this stuff was on TV and helped the damn plot. Why they cut it was stupid.
some stuff like that senile joke or the heart one were too crude
Airplane ii the sequel in December 10,1982 to revision of the DVD and the bluray for the deleted scenes like this in the youtube.
Recorded this off WXIX 19 (Cincinnati) in early 1989; had all these parts.
TV has deleted scenes at times.
Oh m god the moment he pushes that lady out of the plane was always one of my favorite movie gags EVER and now I find out it wasn't in the original release?! 😂
This is the closest we will get to having Airplane III
"That's EXACTLY what they'll be expecting us to do"
Looks like you picked the wrong week to quit drinking
Airplane ii the sequel is in the deleted scenes in the youtube. Please revision the Airplane ii the sequel in the deleted scenes in the dvd
That 'Captain Over' bit seems like a classic Airplane scene, shame it was deleted
Yes this was fire🔥❤😃😄soo good
Better question why is this not on dvd ?
Lloyd Bridges playing a character who thinks he's Lloyd Bridges? Cool comedy.
Nice would been a cameo from his Sons, Beau and Jeff, who visiting him on this day.

I remember these being inserted into a television version I taped when I was a kid. The Modern Electronics gag is sadly more relevant than ever.
I remember seeing "I picked the wrong time to go senile!" on TV.
Me too! I knew it wasn't just me!
Airplane the sequel in the deleted scenes should be in the DVD and the bluray.
Yes, I recognize some of these scenes from TV and didn't know they were originally deleted scenes.
These were included in broadcast on cable TV and the DVD.
“He thinks he’s Lloyd Bridges.” Way too funny!
" I was running low on air " has traumatized millions of kids and has resulted in a shortage of commercial divers.
McCroskey having a flashback from Seahunt 🌊 was the best! 😅
I vaguely remember some of these scenes. Great to see them again!
These scenes were all on the edited for television version back in the day.
5:45 So that's how they ran out of coffee lol
Battlestar Galactica theme. Awesome.
The heart attack one would have fit the movie perfectly.
I agree, a great joke but the acting was too slow. I guessed it and then had to wait.
The sketch should have been faster
I did see that one on TV at one point.
Best eara of the golden years of movies 🌕✈️ Shirley can't be serious don't call me Shirley lol
Funny deleted scenes. they should have kept them in there
Thanks for uploading. I laughed so much! It was like if they made a sequel to the sequel.
6:43 now explains why when he enters the control room he's shaving, that explains the continuity there now
They might've just thought, "People shave on their way to work."
No Frills Airlines, don’t give Jet Blue any ideas 🤣

Rip Torn does a pretty good president!

The chuck connors ( aka sarge deleted scenes) My favorite part of that movie.

The first time I saw this movie was on network TV, and all these scenes were included. I was disappointed when I saw the theatrical cut on DVD.
This was a great sequel every bit as funny as the first Airplane and having William Shatner as the commander of our Moon Base was brilliant that part of the movie was hilarious.
We can always hope for them to digitally remaster the footage of deleted scenes and splice it into the film for a 50th anniversary
This movie came out when people had high hopes for the space shuttle. This is how we all imagined the future of space shuttle flight would become.
Airplane ii the sequel in December 10,1982 should be in the deleted scenes in the dvd and the bluray.
They should've kept the scene where Testa tries to grab the guy's arm and fails. This shows why one of the crew members is not wearing a jacket when Striker sees them outside.
Running out of air! Perfect reference!
I think Sonny Bono did a pretty good job in this. "Second time bomb on the right, please." 🤣
One of the best scenes for me and we all have differe t things that tickle us, is the bit with the pilots. Capt Oveur, Dunne erc 😂. So i wish they kept that one at least damn
I can see why most of these scenes were cut.
This made the movie better.
All these scenes are funny they should have all stayed in the movie for theaters.
Another scene that they should've kept was the Sarge's scene explaining how much damage can the bomb do since McCroskey had called for the Sarge.
9:34 THAT IS GOLD comedy.
Wow that's Rip Torn as Reagan so stupid to cut his scenes out he's great.
I thought that was him but couldn't tell since he had another role in the movie.
That Reagan scene, so funny.
Earl Boen as the doctor in that deleted scene. But he didn't say, "But that's not important right now."
Poor "Silberman" has been a doctor since this! 😂
Some great jokes that were stretched out a bit too long
Airplane ii the sequel in the deleted scenes. Should have the Airplane ii the sequel in the revision in the dvd in the deleted scenes in the dvd.
Guess this was after Shatner finished his scenes for Wrath of Khan.Guess there was no scheduling conflict for his role as Buck Murdock

I really miss Sonny Bono. He was a talent.
he didn't ski too well though.
I remember all of these scenes! I don't think they were cut.
Ending credits asked what a gaffer is. That's the Chief Lighting Technician.
6:43 How all up and coming senior citizens are feeling!
Isn’t that Dr the same guy that played the Dr in terminator 2?
Yes he is
I remember not being overly impressed with the sequel, but this stuff is really funny!
"Impressed" pfft
Well, I guess Airplane 1 and 2 special extended edition might re-release back in theaters with new AI computer effects.
“No class”
And it has the slash lmao
Finally an upload of the scene @9:21-9:30!What is that portrait supposed to be?Where can I find a copy of it online by chance?
... that's a very strange portrait 🤔
It made no sense to cut some of these scenes, particularly the last one with Simon getting into the escape pod.
Or the Sarge explaining the bomb's damage, since McCroskey called for his ass before..
Had these on a VHS recording from TV back in the 80's when they substituted these scenes for the nudity & profanity.
Okay, Reagan would not still be President at this time, especially with a hospital named after him in his memory.
They always cut out the scene with Lloyd Bridges in the insane asylum. "He thinks He's Lloyd Bridges." "I picked the wrong week to go senile."
seriously, where do you find this stuff? "I have no point" please put that on my tombstone.
1:00 - Is that Barry Seal playing the guy having a heart attack?
They used these in the TV airing on CBS.
Thanks for posting this! I'm wondering if that woman who plays Lloyd Bridges nurse in this is the same one who played his wife in the previous movie.
We never saw his wife in the previous film. He talked to her on the phone. Did you mean Oever's wife?
@@sha11235 ah, yes, my mistake! That’s who I meant.
So that’s where Family Guy got the joke from. :)
There are not enough airplane disasters to justify a sequel.
6:20 Lloyd Bridges looks like Catweasel.
Does can somebody to insert that delete scenes in the AIRPLANE II SIQUEL?😙
Well I don't read a whole lot, hun, whatcha got?... lol
Why did they delete these???
too funny

Julie had a nice butt and hairstyle back then
Terrible sequal to a classic comedy !
