The daughter lacks maturity, she's not ready for marriage, and the mother has no boundaries.

Totally. My niece has the same problem. She moved in with BF and his mum took control of their lives. Bub came along and she virtually claimed him as her own. My niece is now going to court over custody. Mum even took my niece to court for custody when bub wasn't even born. I said I'd get them a house away from his mum. But his mum said no it has to be near her.

Honestly, I don't think it will happen. She's in her 30s and she had a golden opportunity to marry and get away from her mom. And she let her mother ruin it. She'll be attached to her mom until her mom dies and then she's going to crash and burn because she doesn't know how to live without her mom. If I had a severe co-depency to my mother to the point where I need her help to manage my anxiety, I'd be in therapy straight away with an eye towards detaching myself from mom. Clearly the daughter isn't doing that and she's fueling her mom's inappropriate attachment by helping her to take her ex-fiance to court. If I were the man, I'd pay the $3500 and then run as fast as I can. He's got $40K. $3500 is a small price to pay to get away from such a toxic relationship.

If your anxiety is so bad that you need your mother's assistance talking to the man you are supposed to marry, you shouldn't be getting married. Those texts show just how much he was doing to make it work. Too much to do just to be able to get married to someone who can't even speak to him without her mommy's help.

Couples therapy BEFORE marriage is a big red flag. This guy dodged a nuclear bullet and ought to get down on his knees and thank whatever God he worships.
He left his wedding ring? Why was he wearing a wedding ring?

Growing up / regularly having to deal with in the midst of Dominating, inflexible post war generation of adults . They were all massively egoistic and thus immature and messed up. World over. That brutal colonisation over 5 or 6 centuries left deep scars , the effects running through many generations.

Anxiety comes from trauma during the young years of a person's life and it's bigger than people realise. In saying this I have anxiety however medical professionals recommend working through it so I worked out a way to deal with anxiety myself so I at least could function now as an adult. it's still hard but there was no way in hell I would never want to end up like the mumma's girl up there! She's just using it as an excuse because she knows mumma gonna fight her fights for her and enable reasons not to work through, the anxiety

She tried the same with my marriage, but I would run to my husband, and he would put a stop to it. Snitching on his mom and open and uncomfortable conversation saved us from many problems.
