You hook the alarm up after casting. You could reel it in while your line is still snaked through the alarm, but It would be easier and less annoying to unhook it. Takes half a second.
@@coolstuffhowtoandfishing5488 😁 cheap enough gonna give it a try. Just wanted something to be loud to wake me up. Have a 9mm and mini 14. I'm in bear country in upstate NY🌲🐻🔫😎
They are good for beach fishing it's got a volume with it to so you can turn it down and not p*ss of the other guy's and girls next to you lol but what i don't like is you can't send your bait and led out with it on the rod but good little bit of kit tho
Hey love the video!!! I have was shocked to hear you say your in New York! I'm out in Corning and fish the Susquehanna every weekend! I ordered the alarms just the other day they will be here tomorrow!!!
It's pretty sensitive, fine for small fish, it would have to be pretty windy out to have it trip the alarm. Doesn't work well in a current though because that just sets it off regardless....thanks for watching!
I use 3 poles often as is allowed in NY. When I use bait as opposed to a lure I always use these, day or night. Often I won't get a bite for an hour or more, and I get bored watching my poles and want to get up, walk around or check something on my phone. This gives me the freedom to do that. There are other good inexpensive ones though, I also like the kastking madbite.
Hi, thanks for the video. Is there any sort of volume control on them? Would be nice to e able to turn it up and down depending on the location so as to not annoy other fishers etc :)
Guy, you're only setting a small, sharp, hook into the soft tissue of a fish's mouth. You don't need to yank the pole that hard, and certainly not hard enough for these to "fly off."
Seriously?.....lol ok ill stick w the tried & true method of drag control....shouldnt be walkn away from ur line anyway....ur bored at that point....i laugh whn i see ppl chilln then all a sudden they run to the pole & fumble around tryin to set & Zzzzzzz-fish is done gone home by then & took a nap 🤣my baddd i just realized this is prooooobly a set up fr freshwater fishing-ok u can put the pole down 🤣🤣🤣 try that w a snook
do you know if you can throw in the line with the alarm in and can you real it in with the alarm

@@coolstuffhowtoandfishing5488 ok thank you i just wnated to know because i dont want to ruin my rod while fishing for stripers
Are the sensitive enough for small fish such as bullhead?
Yes, they are very sensitive.
You think i could use these for bear perimeter defense while camping?
Hahaha!

They're loud. Loud enough to wake up and piss off the wife.....

Va rog sa a-mi spuneți ce baterie sa folosește la avertizorulacesta. Va mulțumesc.
I have one and have come to the conclusion that the rod needs to be less vertical for the alarm to work well.
Would these work with slack line? Or low drag? Or do they require a closed bail with tight drag? I'm thinking about using them for ice fishing.
They are tripped when the line is tight but not tight enough to trip it. Then when a fish bites, it trips the alarm...

Awesome! May I suggest camping, spot #66 at hickory park in owego. Great spot for catfish!
How did they hold up....
Great question, and they all still work fine, although i have had to change the batteries
does it only recognise bites or wind aswell? how does it work for small fish?

do you use it for both day and nightime? I only fish on days and I am thinking about buying this but is it usefull on the day?

Would this be good for ice fishing?
I would expect so, unless youre jiging
Literally just seen these on amazon and found thus video. Just bought it

Just got mine going to try on the boat
do you have to put the bait runner on
+Daniel Bareham I don't use a bait runner so I am not sure how it it would act, sorry. Thanks for watching!
Should be fine just set your rear drag more
There's a button on the back that cuts the alarm off
Think this could work for a lake or is it more for bigger fish
More for catfish and carp

Trying to find out myself.
There is one I think made by same guys that's oval that has volume. Don't really want the think going that stupid loud
Surely does piss the wife off when you're camping and the thing goes off multiple times at night lol
Cool I should get one for pike fishing
Bluetooth ?
No, sorry...
Clamp style sucks, when you go to set the hook...they will fly off!
Not a problem for catfish, use circle hooks. Good point though for bass and such. Thanks for watching!

Yeah, I probably wouldn't use it for bass fishing with crankbait.
Was gonna say. I only use circle hooks. Don’t need to set the hooks. I see what your saying tho
@@rustyshackleford3647 why on earth would you ever use a strike guard if you're bass fishing with lures??? Strike guards are for live bait only
Great vid. Also, wrong rod for the bait caster.
+vuemeister1 thanks for watching! Yes, you are correct, however the fish don't seem to mind! Lol
5 bucks is expensive. i got it for 2
Where
I really liked the review on the fish alert. I gave a dislike only due to its way to loud and has no volume control.
I don't recommend on wendy weather
They make too much noise
That's the point
Nice 👍
They still work perfectly, after a year of heavy use!
