  • Why is Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) needed?
PCIe is a high-speed interface standard used for connecting various hardware components, such as graphics cards, storage devices, and network cards, in computers and servers. So, PCIe is the most important interconnect technology due to its high-speed data transfer capabilities, scalability, low latency, full duplex operation, backward compatibility, and wide industry adoption. It offers a flexible and efficient solution for a variety of applications, from consumer electronics to enterprise-level systems, making it ideal for handling the increasing demands of modern computing, storage, and networking. The differences between PCIe generations are significant in terms of data rate, bandwidth, encoding efficiency, error correction, and power management. Of course, those good features may make the SerDes design even more challenging, and we’ll discuss those images in the future. 😊
Appreciate those people work on the PCIe development. 🙏
