Spring, This amazes me. I really Thank you for going thru the steps of making the fibers for spinning. You completely make it easy to understand. This combination will make Beautiful Yarn. I love the Irredescent Sparkle as well. ❤🥰

Hi Spring!
Oooh exciting! I am trying to catch up!😊 Take good care!❤
Hi Sally, thank you for swinging in and watching yes ma’am I took your advice and it’s been fun. Hugs and prayers.
Hey Spring. Isela here. I found that the plain felt is harder to work with than the variegated fluff. In fact, I would recommend the variegated one for beginning spinners. Just a little pre drafting is needed to start off on wheel or spindle. I am glad someone else found this wool good to spin with too!
lol one of the first fibers I spun with a stick was the solid color pack years ago now and it was horrible. I never used it again. But this was gifted and I figured with the drum carder it would make it a little bit better. I was surprised at how soft the blended color pack was. So much nicer than years ago.
Thank you for sharing. I love this!
Glad you enjoyed it! Hugs 🥰
So fascinating to watch you do this ❤❤❤
It is so much fun to paint 🎨 with the fiber ! 🫶🏼💚🫶🏼

Hi Bella 🫶🏼💚🫶🏼
This is amazing 😊
Thank you I am glad you enjoyed 🫶🏼💚🫶🏼
Spring this was very interesting. Does the roving have to be drafted before being spun or do you draft to mix the fibers only? Hugs. Praying for your back to feel better. You looked and sounded like you were in a lot of pain.❤
@@ivettepassiglia4971 hi Ivette , Drafting thins down the amount of bulk in hand when pulling the fiber out to spin that is called drafting . Pre drafting reduces the bulk and helps insure the fiber is all going the same direction. Thank you 😊 it’s better today than yesterday. It’s a roller coaster with my back osteoporosis took 3 inches in height from me, And scoliosis is not helping matters . Thank you for the prayers they are always welcomed !
So very interesting. Now, I'm going to ask a beginner(?) question, roving indicates that some areas of the actual yarn are thinner and some thicker, right? Or in this case, it's the fiber that is roving in that manner and when worked up into yarn it will be consistent. Hugs'n'Smooches!
Hi Mary Ann , roving is “ not yarn “ 🧶 yarn has twist. Even if it’s just a light twist or thick and thin IE: lots of twist and little twist.
Roving is fiber prepared to spin into yarn. Like yarn you can also have many different thickness of roving but instead of it being called lace fingering dk and so on , it is called things like pencil roving which indicates it is as big around as a pencil.
Yarn companies have had folks confused by labeling yarn as “roving” and Roving as “ yarn @ for a while . So I hope this helps you understand the difference between the two.
@@SpringTheFiberEnthusiastthey certainly have. I'm not crazy about the yarn they call roving. Thanks for explaining. I learn so much from you.😊
@@SpringTheFiberEnthusiast Thank you!
