This one was tough and I'm overall not happy with it. There's about 30-60 minutes of boring stuff I could've cut out that is just Joe reading tutorials and "lore" but I ended up not having the time to edit them out so things get kinda boring after the 1st hour of the edit.
Well at least you draw my attention to Joe's playing a new game (after almost half and hour). Life is tough and thanks for bring some joy with the video
I was pretty confused why you left the sub thanking in but then it just kept going and going and going and the chapter marker wasn't getting any closer...
Joseph Anderson in videos: very stoic and objective game critic famed for long and analytical reviews. Joseph Anderson on stream: excitable gremlin constantly antagonized by the voices in his head (chat)
I was one of the two Forspoken fans constantly chatting with Joe throughout this playthrough! Thanks for putting together the edit, and I’m sorry to hear that you’re not very happy with it. It’s always tough when doing highlights, as you can risk leaving in too much or cutting out too much, and finding the balance is very difficult…
Out of curiosity for this high bar; what is your favorite Joseph Anderson laugh moment? I don't know if I have one it's like trying to choose your favorite pet but recency bias tells me 'YES SIR' from Life is Strange was the best one for me.
I've read some isekai manga and half the things Joe says were used in them against the protagonist. Such as not knowing language, misunderstanding culture, wearing clothing from Earth, being gullible, being overconfident and so on. So writing for this game was worse than writing in some 5/10 manga.
At least those have the excuse that they were basically done in fanfiction web pages and got popular there (and there is a huge pipeline of fanfic story to anime) They weren't hired by a company for the explicit reason that they can write good.
@@nahuel3433 yup. Hard to expect quality when you're reading something called "I got reborn in a fantasy world as the rightest streamer with my chat & KNUCKLES".
@@Poppenheimer69 I don't know if an isekai, where the protagonists pov is constantly being livestreamed and he can see the chat, and he asks chat for advice and chat hepls him solve situations and sometimes chat trolls him into getting into trouble would be a good idea or not.
Why would the people living in this world not already have a name for the cataclysmic event destroying their lives? Why are people not correcting Frey when she calls it 'the break' rather than adopting the name a random newcomer decided to call it out of ignorance. Like, imagine someone was in a coma throughout COVID and just started calling the pandemic 'the big sniff' or something, and literally everyone they met just went along with it rather than explaining what it was and what it was called
I like how Joe had to be pestered to read the journal in Ragnarok, but in Forspoken? Gotta view every entry and please all those Forspoken fans that just subscribed!
56:12 Here's the dumbest thing about that fire. If the thugs found where she was hiding, and they set the place on fire, they could have gone in, shot her, and taken the bag. Even if they decide to spare her because she has enough money to please their boss, it would be better than her just abandoning the money for Homer in a fire that they set up. Killing her in the fire wouldn't please their boss as much as getting that bag.
Did they know she had a bag full of cash? I don't think we were given enough info for there to be any inconsistencies like whether the boss would've been satisfied by cash even if they did know about it. Maybe based on some premises of how real-life NYC gangs operate there's something to critique, but for all I know the way they were portrayed at the start was already "immersion breaking" before even getting to the arson.
When games are written by affluent cun7s this is the kind of writing we should expect. AKA the kind where going to court & getting found guilty doesn't actually lead to consequences + poor people/peasants only exist to uplift the affluent (or in this game's case, the SECRETLY affluent) protagonist. I mean this b!tch is literally the daughter of a queen. Talk about not being able to find actually poor people relatable. They had to make her special because the affluent realize how f*cked the lower classes really are. There's no way for them to make a relatable working class protagonist who overcomes their own flaws to serve a greater good + find a community where they belong. It's impossible for them to imagine because there are no meaningful examples of this IRL. All our media is focused on making fake "rags to riches" stories based on which nepo baby's publicist is paying them to push the narrative they want the public to hear.
Bloody hell, Frey has to be the most insufferable main character I've seen in a long while. Well done with the editing - you've really polished this turd of a game into something watchable.
i can finish a deadly premonition stream in one sitting, but this game... this game broke me with boredom, tripeness and an UTTERLY INSUFFERABLE protagonist. thanks for your hard work editing these streams - i have no idea how you pulled that off without losing your mind over this! 😂 please keep them coming 💜

the constant little clinking sounds were TORTUROUS in this video. I'm home alone and constantly thought someone was moving around in my kitchen it made me so paranoid
Frey talks like a parody of what people think New Yorkers are like lmao. Why would she say she’s from Hell’s Kitchen like that would mean anything to anyone???
I haven't even heard of that game, because I'm blissfully oblivious. How can something seem to be so deliberately bad, and yet complete self-UNaware...
I played this game for a bit and I reached almost the same area joe did in this stream, just past the purple dungeon but I couldn't continue playing it, it's just sooooo fucking boooooooring
I was watching it as a bit, my conclusion is as follows, the game is not something AAA studio should put out and Frey will run from a pack of bears but stay to fight the dragon...
Yes, I was still learning how to edit when I did these, my more recent videos aren't so obnoxious with trying to cut every single boring second out of the video.
I like how the moral of this story is that "father figures don't matter" & "women shouldn't un-alive themselves because maybe they're actually from a royal blood line." But I guess if you know you're from a poor family: just go ahead & jump, I guess. Don't hate on me, that's what the game is saying with the way it depicts & unfolds events. 😂 Man... imagine working on this trash & expecting to keep working on video games in the future. Then again, as long as the DEI quota continues to be a priority above player retention & engagement well... maybe making games that pander is a safer bet than making games that people find fun.
