Life is short, if you are going to do something, and you are ready, do it, and roll with it and adjust expectations as you need to. But hey, that is just my 2 cents! The white is too overpowering, and the black is too much of a late-night call-in talk show vibe to it, to me. Plus, when you wear a dark color or black, your body blends right into the background and you have the floating head and hands effect. (Maybe you could experiment with lighting to address that.) How about picking a warm color from that center piece/shelf unit you have behind you, a very muted gold, rust orange, deep yellow, or dark tan. Something that is subtle but with enough contrast that you stand out from what is behind you. Perhaps a woven screen on each side of the shelf unit. Or big, wall sized pictures or maps of Alaska. If you work with a stager, maybe that person could suggest something. There are more options than just black or white. Boy, am I full of opinions tonight but you asked! Definitely the black interior! The white curtains give off a cheap feel, while the black sound foam it looks like gives off a more professional feel. It is literal night and day difference in quality lol.
