The dog turning on the stove - this actually just happened with to my in-laws with a cat. The cat walked across the stove, jumped to the refrigerator and turned on the stove. He knocked wicker baskets onto the stove and Flambé, kitchen on fire. The cats(2) suffered smoke inhalation, requiring resuscitation on the fire scene, and 2 days in oxygen create at Emergency Vet. $8K later the cats are doing fine and not sure how much it will cost to rebuild the kitchen and replace everything. If you have pets(cats or dogs) safe guard your house or come home to devastation.
We had to take the knobs off the gas oven because our cat figured out how to push them in and turn them like some kind of toy. Figured it out the second time I got up to the propane alarm and a stinky house.
I had my stove turned on when I was gone by one of the dogs, plus chewed a $600.00 gps collar controller. Didn't start a fire, the tea kettle was on the burner and was boiled dry. Came home just in time. The dogs are no longer left in the house together. Were always fine before left in the house, no longer.
My wife runs a small boarding kennel and some dog get to board in the house with our three Goldens. On of ours, Fiona the princess routinely corrects the boarders when they get a little too excited or aggressive. She does so simply by placing herself between the offensive dog and the rest of the dogs. She was not taught this behavior. She only weighs about 70lbs, but corrects Great Danes and Newffies... And yes, it is Properly Princess Fiona... and she is.
My Corso Corso female does that at dog parks. I know Garrett hates them, I've had no issues. Anyway my girl looks out for everyone, puppies etc. Corrected one male puppy and he rolled over on his back and peed all over himself. She never touched him, just a solid bark.
That’s scary nurturing that behavior in a young Cane Corso, who appears to be a family pet allowing them to fixate & growl. Imagine that super powerful dog when fully matured…😢
god THANK YOU. that last puppy video pissed me off so bad. thats like, de-socializing and injecting such a YOUNG puppy with insecurity and suspicion ??? why would you do that. youre chipping away at its confidence and understanding of the world so when its time for full grown dog to protect you, it might get overwhelmed with fear instead.

Yeah, exactly! PUT THE F'ING PHONE DOWN and help the poor thing!! The LAST thing I'm thinking of when an animal is hurt is "Oh, let me film this!!" I hate people more and more every day!

Great video I have a five month old boxer that I drive around in the truck with me all the time and he does that low growling when people come around I just thought it was because he’s kind of a puppy kinda but I learned from this video, I need to put a stop to that. He is a very playful puppy And plays with everybody socialized him very well. I think he’s been riding in the truck with me every day everywhere I go since he was six weeks old thank you Garrett. I will put a stop to that low growling that he does again thank you
The owner was moving in slow motion for the first puppy. YOU SHOULD’NT HAVE A DOG IF YOU ARE GOING TO JUST VIDEO WHEN IT GETS IT HEAD STUCK SOMEWHERE!!!

Hunting dog without training and without a leash runs towards me and my little dogs, the result: 8 months of constant visits to the surgeon so that my thigh doesn't get infected and rehab sports. He is no longer allowed to come near the house and the dog probably went to a foster family. My dogs are physically fine 'cause Mama Bear will always protect them from stupid people!
Question about that last one. I have a 10 year old healer mix that still low growls at people and other animals. Im working on getting her socialized. Is there anything you would recommend to stop her from being so paranoid
It's amazing how many stupid people own dogs...or are just generally walking around. I can never understand anyone who doesn't crate train their dogs, it's like having a child without a bedroom, there is no logic there. Walking your dogs off leash when they are not under total control is so stupid. My Rottie puppy jumped up on the stove and turned the propane on. Luckily we were right there. It was really eye opening. Another great video, take care and God bless you and your family.
All dogs should be socialized with a variety of different things starting from a young age but yeah I don't understand why people think their dog will just get along with a random dog without any socializing first
Idk what is the thing with crates in US. We don't use this in France. Like people just teach their dog when they are young to get used to be alone. 10 min, then 15, then 30, then 1 hours and they slowly augment the time when they are gone. I watched the video but as soon as he was "yeahhhh e collar or craaateee", well Im done lmao. Feels like USA is a bit behind when it comes to animal well being. In my country e collars and choke collars are forbidden by law, considered torture. It's also forbidden to cut ears or tails (like dobermans) because it has been proven many times that it doesnt give any health advantage for the dog and it just became something aesthetic.
0:55 ...meanwhile my puppy got into this exact situation while IN HIS CRATE. The wired kind. He got stuck on the door, from the inside, when they were closed, so it was pretty difficult to get them free. He broke of the tip of his lower fang cause he was panicking and yanking away🤦
Although, It finally made him stop biting and chewing on the crate and on other wired fences in general and he never got into that situation again so... success I guess.
I had a pup get his lower jaw stuck in a kennel door screamed like the pup in beginning of video. Thankfully I was home. I still use crates. I cant imagine not using one. We have 2 dogs. One (9month old) is in crate during day other 5 years old is fine out of crate.
"Kade watching clip" Hi Garrett and AmericanStandard subscribers and supporters. Just would like the opportunity to reach out regarding the last clip with our dog Kade. We respect Garretts teachings and advice and we would not simply encourage Kade that everything is a danger when sitting in the car. I can see how it looks with just the short clip and no other context. As we know Garrett recently dealt with having to clarify one of his videos as well when he was being called out as a dog abuser and receiving threats and had to publish a full story content and defense. Before we started recording something caught his attention and we used that moment to teach the command to watch. Shortly after we released him from watching with it's ok command and took him out and continued socializing. Yes there were different people walking about their day posing no threat but it was an opportunity to use the command and then importantly was released from it and socialized immediately after to encourage as Garrett says that 99% of the time there is no danger. As Garrett has taught our dogs should not be making the decisions but the owners should and we want to have the ability in a situation to command him to watch if we know we need him to and just as importantly release the command when not needed. Yes he was only 13 Weeks in that video but like with everything else and other commands we are always teaching and staying consistent. Please take a look at our channel and see all our other videos. Kade comes from a quality breeder who emphasizes great temperament and he is maturing into a wonderful well balanced dog. We definitely believe in full socialization and training and use much of Garretts advice to do this including his recommended equipment such as prong collars, double hooked with Martindale collars for backup, e-collars, treat bags on our person for rewarding correct responses and etc.. As you know TH-cam shorts are only 60 seconds so we can't always portray the full story in each post. I'm glad to see how many of you out there care and want the best for our canine family members. As always thank you Garrett for the quality content and hopefully this comment will give some perspective in our particular situation. As far as all the other clips Garrett addresses we agree 100% with.
Thank you for the feedback and additional commentary. I appreciate you trying to do the best for your dog. As you are probably aware, everybody and their mom is getting Corsos and most folks can't handle a poodle. So we are extra critical when we see what appear to be mistakes being made by owners of power breeds like the Corso. Having said that, 60 second clip or not, it still doesn't look good. I can only call it how I see it. However, I'm happy to hear your dog is coming along nicely and appreciative of your cordial response. If it's of any interest to you, I would be happy to extend free access to you for any of our courses that may be of interest to you. Please email my team and I will personally make sure we take care of you. 👍💪❤️🇺🇲
11:00 I got a shelter dog who tries to scare off EVERYTHING! HUMAN AND ANIMAL ALIKE, he's really terrified cause he'll shake heavily... but all people see is the growling and barking and jumping, he's a borkie mix so he's not big...idk how to help him😢
Speaking of a dog jumping up on a stove and catching the house on fire i saw a video of that and a kid from the neighborhood ran into the person's house and saved all thier dogs and the owners called the boy super Mario
The last video of the corso pup is why so many end up dead or in rescue if they're lucky. Secondly, it's why the list of banned breeds continues to grow. It's become much harder to fix stupid these days, owners not animals.
I probably don’t do a lot of things exactly right with my puppy, but if I’m leaving the house she is in the crate! I don’t care if I’m going to check the mail, she’s in that crate!
Just rescued a 7yr old pit he's been in kennel for 2yrs. Hes on ALOT of meds. His anxiety is calming after 5 days. But his dog/stranger aggression Im trying to figure how to work this dog. I always had purebreeds shepards, Presa Canario. Both breeds were imports. They were a dream to work. This is going to be a challenge. Which I expected. Nor will he be drugged. He will be withdrew over 6 months. Your training is like my old handlers, not the give every dog a trophy.
7:57 Here is a tip from a 501c3 non profit animal rescue organization: CRATE TRAIN YOUR DOG!! If your dog is not trustworthy to be loose in the house while unsupervised, the crate is a great resource for safety, training, and many other things! If your dog gets super anxious in a great and escapes it, than use an Alcatraz kennel! They may be more expensive, but I doubt it’ll be as expensive as a disaster like this!
People need to be wary of ANY body of water in Florida. Gators live in them and they like to eat dogs. Remember, if the gator is in the water, excluding swimming pools, the gator is exactly where it is supposed to be. Keep your dog out of it.
At 5.10 that's my dog, only she is 10 month Rottweiler- she suddenly started eating baseboards and door jam. Why and how do I stop this ( I even brought hardwood sticks indoors)
You can try giving your dog more enrichment and exercise until you get her crate trained or trained to not chew on furniture. All dogs especially puppies get bored quickly and need a lot of enrichment. They need to use their brain to figure things out like how to get a treat out of a kong or something, there are lots of different ways to stimulate your dog's brain.
@@angelikac6767 if none of that works you can try using apple bitter spray it's pretty cheap and non toxic to pets it just tastes bitter and makes them not chew on furniture. I can't 100% guarantee it will work for your dog, but it has worked for a lot of dogs.
My GSD freaked out in his crate when I was gone and shattered every tooth he has in his mouth on it. This is a crate I raised him with, and had left him in many times. The only difference is that I moved homes. Though he was used to this home and I had crated him in it before. This time however he decided to eat the metal crate and broke every tooth. Now I have a giant dental problem that I can't afford so his face is now slowly rotting. What the fuck was I supposed to do differently? This dog is broken inside and now outside too. GSD's....I don't recommend.
Maybe don't use a crate, teach him how to stay alone with occupations toys, spend him well on the morning before you go. Idk in US everybody use a crate while I never saw one in France. People just teach their dog to behave when they are gone that's it. Some people even leave the tv on for them.
@tagadaki yeah, he can behave out of the crate if his sister is there. Still doesn't fix his shattered face though. So I can't say crates are 100% safe and great.
It sounds to me like the dog probably heard or smelled something, detected a threat & thought it needed to escape to survive. Have you considered contacting a rescue organization? Perhaps even one that specializes in GSDs? They might be able to help you with the cost - or at the very least, they can help him. I know the thought of relinquishing your dog isn't a happy one, but it might be the kindest thing you can do. I'll be happy to help you find a rescue... heck, I'd come pick him up myself if you're in the Continental US & I knew where to go. I just hate to hear that he's suffering just because of one mistake. 🥺 *Please* find someone to help him.
@@elizabethhazzard8314 Yeah I don't like crates personnaly and I feel it's useless and just creating stress for the dog most of the time. Maybe you can contact an association that can help you for the teeth, even some refuge can help out sometimes but idk how it is in USA. My aunt had to make surgery for her dog and she asked everybody if some people could help her, we all gave a bit of money and she managed to pay 3k without getting too much in trouble. Hope you find a solution.
Teaching a dog to growl at everything for no real reason is bad enough. Now imagine you teach that to a corso averaging +140pound. Alsobplease teach the corso to give paw at that tiny age wile your at it. See if its still cute 18 months fron now. Shes not gonna be able to handle that dog down then line. And its sad 😢
One of my family members has a deaf Dachshund and they taught him simple signs for commands instead of using verbal commands. Maybe this could work for you?
Sir, i just want to understand why my dog follows me everywhere like if i go just 3 feet away she follows but when i thought she just wants to be pet or cuddled she immediately snaps and runs away either one of us is weird 😂😂
She might have trauma either from past owners or something else but is probably still attached to you and seeks your safety, comfort and affection. Maybe she wants to be the one to initiate the affection or cuddles though, you can try letting her come to you and giving positive reinforcement like treats when she does come to you. Even if she just takes one step towards you to cuddle you should reward the smallest steps. I adopted an elderly dog that was abused and neglected and he followed me around but he wasn't okay with me petting him he would either cower or try to bite, I know he was just scared not aggressive. Over time with lots and lots of patience and lots of positive reinforcement training he got better and we cuddled all the time. He also used to be dog reactive and didn't know any commands or walk well at all on the leash but it eventually all worked out and I'm glad I had those years with him. I really enjoyed training him and helping him realize the world isn't so scary after all, and watching him regain his confidence was beautiful.
@valeriemikan1960 the thing is I rescued her when she was 2 months old as estimated by the Vet. But yeah she does as she please and all I wanted is she be the dog and I'm her master, apparently she's the master 🤣😂 so bossy 😂😂😂
@@Disteh dogs can develop trauma at any age so it still is possible she has trauma. You don't have to show the dog you're the boss of it but dogs thrive on routine and a leader to look up to and make them feel safe and tell them what to do. Don't let him get away with things and be CONSISTENT with training. If one person is training the dog and another person is also trying to and they use different commands or one owner of the household is not being consistent it can make it harder and longer to train the dog. I've watched tons of documentaries and read lots of books and articles on dog psychology and that helped A LOT on knowing how to properly train my dogs. Be patient, consistent and considerate. Dogs can have 3 different types of motivation; food, toys and affection. Start with basic training and work your way up. Do as much research as possible because every little bit of information is helpful. Also when a dog is trained it doesn't just mean the owner can stop training completely. Well trained dogs still need brain stimulation, routine and a leader to help tell them what to do otherwise they can get confused and stressed out.
Our first golden years ago before i started dog training was a notorious counter surfer. One morning she actually tried to get cookies my mom made on the stovetop and turned the burner on. It lit a 4ft flame in our kitchen, singed walls, cabinets and the ceiling and yes, the cookies. The only reason it was put out was because my brothers friend was spending the night and happened to be up before any of us, otherwise could very well have been a house fire. If anyone comes to me with a dog and asks how to fix jumping, I immediately tell them to deck their damn dog and thats unacceptable behavior. (not just to deck their dog but that is the jist of it)
See a lot of horror stories. Have to agree with Garrett on 99% of his analysis and training methods. You have to find the training that works for your dog. Meaning use all the tools. Be the leader. My dogs do not wear collars when at home. But in public its slip lead, prong or e-collar. Because you cant predict the unpredictable world. Been many times my wife and I have saved dogs without any control measures in place form being bodied by our corsi. They don't tolerate any kind of bs from other dogs.
Those dogs actually have recall, they went back, but the dumb owners walking the dogs have no control of their stupid dogs even when leashed and went over to the territory of those two dogs.
Sorry, I can't watch this video. My inner Karen is trying to burst out and hunt down those muppets. Seriously. The only thing that's holding me now is that my dog has her head on my knee as she's sleeping comfortably. I'm by no means an ideal dog owner, we've made mistakes but God, this is just sadism and awful things shown there.
After the first video of the puppy, with some moron taking video made me sick to my stomach, I shut this off.....nope ain't gonna watch any more of it.

I watch another TH-cam dog trainer named Tom Davis, his training center is called “no bad dogs”.
Who would have thought. Not people
Why are people so cruel. These videos make me cry everytime.
These dogs are born to love us .
You ain't see a more cruel thing people do, Be grateful
That first clip broke my heart.....How heartless can you be to animal? Is your "fame" really THAT more important than a dogs life?!?!
People against crate training are ridiculous. As my dogs got older they would retreat to crate to sleep
My Aussie does the same thing and she’s a puppy. When she wants to nap she puts herself in her crate. I’m glad that’s her happy place!
Good video. People keep expecting their dogs to know and understand what they know themselves is dangerous or they baby talk to them like they are a human baby instead of training them and providing safety and boundaries.

Thank you for addressing this. ❤
Bro needs an E collar for himself, he outta control
11:00 I got a shelter dog who tries to scare off EVERYTHING! HUMAN AND ANIMAL ALIKE, he's really terrified cause he'll shake heavily... but all people see is the growling and barking and jumping, he's a borkie mix so he's not big...idk how to help him😢
My dog has no problem going in crate goes in by himself. But if I lock him in he breaks out. Literally bends the cage
An Alcatraz kennel is a great idea for dogs that are escape artists!
Great video!
Thanks for watching!
We should change the term from best trained dog to best trained human!!
People at their finest as usual. Most dog owners are professional Deck heads..
I fucking yelled “FFF-FIDDLESTICKS” when I was late to press the notification 😭
Speaking of a dog jumping up on a stove and catching the house on fire i saw a video of that and a kid from the neighborhood ran into the person's house and saved all thier dogs and the owners called the boy super Mario
5:08 spoiler alert
"HERE'S JOHNNY!!" moment
That woman needs her dogs removed from her. That poor man
I really hate how Florida pronounces my French name, OMG. IT DOES NOT RHYME WITH PICKLE OMFG
The last video of the corso pup is why so many end up dead or in rescue if they're lucky.
Secondly, it's why the list of banned breeds continues to grow.
It's become much harder to fix stupid these days, owners not animals.
I think most of us have knocked on a wall or a desk to hear the dog bark. 😅
Whats your thoughta on people letting their dogs lick the inside of their mouth?
It can spread bacteria such as tapeworms, please don't let your dog or cat lick your mouth or your face, especially kids.
Crate training keeps the dog safe when you aren't present. Fire video is prime example.
100% agree with everything👍

Here is a tip from a 501c3 non profit animal rescue organization:
CRATE TRAIN YOUR DOG!!
I want to sign up for training with you. Where do i sign up
My bad I figured it out I had spelled canine versus K9 😂🎉
Check out DIYK9.com for our online courses and AmericanStandardK9.com for our board and train pricing and options.
At 5.10 that's my dog, only she is 10 month Rottweiler- she suddenly started eating baseboards and door jam. Why and how do I stop this ( I even brought hardwood sticks indoors)
Check out our Crate Training course on DIYK9.com
You can try giving your dog more enrichment and exercise until you get her crate trained or trained to not chew on furniture. All dogs especially puppies get bored quickly and need a lot of enrichment. They need to use their brain to figure things out like how to get a treat out of a kong or something, there are lots of different ways to stimulate your dog's brain.
@valeriemikan1960 she got all that , and we walk 3 times a day...hope it's just a fase wood is pricy
@@angelikac6767 if none of that works you can try using apple bitter spray it's pretty cheap and non toxic to pets it just tastes bitter and makes them not chew on furniture. I can't 100% guarantee it will work for your dog, but it has worked for a lot of dogs.
@@angelikac6767 and if she is crate trained then she won't be able to chew on furniture.
All that screaming needs to stop!!
*Please* find someone to help him.
Great Video👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Breakdown?? I thought it was "break dance". Oops.
10/10, would spin my dog on a folded cardboard box again...
And its sad 😢
i try to train my dog but it is a little hard because he is deaf. i think an e collar with a tiny bit of vibration would help but what do you think?
One of my family members has a deaf Dachshund and they taught him simple signs for commands instead of using verbal commands. Maybe this could work for you?
7:15
If it can escape its collar so easily, why isn’t the Merle one wearing a martingale or slip lead??
It almost looked like she unclipped the leash from the collar but if that's not the case then I agree with you
Sir, i just want to understand why my dog follows me everywhere like if i go just 3 feet away she follows but when i thought she just wants to be pet or cuddled she immediately snaps and runs away either one of us is weird 😂😂
(not just to deck their dog but that is the jist of it)
What do you mean, “deck their damn dog”? How do you do that?
@@gringoenespanol usually like a hip check. Hard enough to get them off but obviously not trying to hurt them.
Those dogs actually have recall, they went back, but the dumb owners walking the dogs have no control of their stupid dogs even when leashed and went over to the territory of those two dogs.
so crate training fixes everything??
No but it helps with so many different things if you crate train correctly.
@ thanks
Sorry, I can't watch this video. My inner Karen is trying to burst out and hunt down those muppets. Seriously. The only thing that's holding me now is that my dog has her head on my knee as she's sleeping comfortably. I'm by no means an ideal dog owner, we've made mistakes but God, this is just sadism and awful things shown there.
american akita rating video please.
Dude I just wanna smoke joint with u Garrett don’t know if u smoke but I’ve learned some smoking hot shit from u bro thank i soo much bro
At least in europe dogs can't put the stove on there is a safety build in them.
Stop being stupid. My favorite saying.
After the first video of the puppy, with some moron taking video made me sick to my stomach, I shut this off.....nope ain't gonna watch any more of it.
The dog fight the lady unhooked her dog and it went back to fight more. The fire who leaves stuff on there stove dumb af.
I think the dog just slipped out of the collar.
I was gonna point out that out too. Why would you unhook your dog after a fight?
@@gaileverett it didn't watch again the lady unhooked her dog from the leash the collar stayed on
