    Kudos to the engineer that designed the fan mount system... at least you didn't have to desolder the CPU to clean the fan!

    Thank you for the tutorial. I discovered that you do not need to take the keyboard off nor detach the any ribbon cables. You can leave the keyboard attached, but you do have to loosen the two captive screws and one remove the one security screw. While I was mostly there, I did take off the heat sink and reapply the thermal paste. I do have to say after replacing the fan and re-pasting it, my thermals did not improve much, if at all. The fan was making noise before and now it's quiet. Not bad for an 18-year-old computer. I have the touch-screen, backlit keyboard model.

    Thanks. I followed this and I was able to change the fan on my pc. I removed the keyboard just like you did which was the trickiest part for me. Funny enough people here are saying it isn't necessary. I too was wondering why I needed to remove the keyboard. Anyways I know how to replace keyboards now in case of another day.

    Great instructions. Only hickup I hit was the replacement fan was missing the trapped screws so I needed to break off the clips to reuse the old ones.

    to remove the fan, you do not need to remove the keyboard, if the fan works and only makes noise, you can disassemble it and put machine oil on the shaft (you have to glue it later)

    Good tutorial. Only thing I see is that the step at 4:35 is not necessary.

    I bought the fan on Amazon Canada and the fan I received requires 0.1 less amp than the original one : 0.5A instead of 0.6A I read that it could fry the computer so I don't wan't to take any chances. Your toughts ? Thanks for the video by the way

      @tempusfugit6820 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you change the fan you received? It should not be a problem as it will only use what it needs to run as long as the voltage is compatible.

      Hi too I got the same 0.5A fan but once replaced the computer won't start anymore. In practice it turns on but after a few seconds it turns off what can it be? I tried to put on the old fan but does it do the same thing? You can help me? Thanks 🙏 🙏 🙏
