    Thank you Bob and son. My son and I just did the driver door lock on the 2014 Sorento and this video was very helpful. Took us 3 hours. The 3 torque screws that hold the actuator in place can easily be removed with the right sized allan wrench. No need to buy a torque screw bit.

    Thank you sooooo much for filming and posting this!!! Wow, couldn’t have done it without you. Such a simple problem with a complicated part to access.

    thank you so much for this video, first time i tried something like this. I would not have known how to get started without your help. The fix went very smoothly. The child lock on my Sorento was engaged, i used your method and a clothes hanger to free it, I used plenty of silicone lubricant at the site and had no scratches

    Finally done it.
    Issue: that one little screw for the window (P3, by the way!) got stripped out (looked like Loctite was on the inside) so we had to drill it all the way out and find a replacement nut...not great but we got it done after two days. Thanks for the video!!

    • @n1njab0b
      @n1njab0b  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey glad to hear you got it done! Be proud of yourself. A stripped P3 would have caused lesser men to give up, but not you!

    Thanks a lot for your video. It will be VERY helpful. I can't imagine doing this without your help. Sometimes the video is dark, however we must concentrate a little bit more, so it's good ;-) Hahaha. Great job guys. Cheers! Danny from Canada Quebec

      Thank you Danny Rossy! Yes I have learned my lesson on the lighting. Next time we will make it brighter so you don’t have to concentrate so hard. ;)

    Thank you for the Info, i am having a hard time figuring out why i can't get my module out of the door. this is the only video or information i could find that mentioned disconnecting the window screws. not even the walk thru in the kia manual tells you that. Thanks again.

    Thanks for the video, I watched the other guys video, incomplete but help. I wish I saw your video first. But anyway, I fixed mine. Dealer wants to charge me $400. But you don't have to remove the door latch! I rolled the window up and used several tape to hold the window up. Then I rolled the window mechanism down and removed both bolts held by locktite.

    One adder that will help__ The window edge guide should be hung from its top bolt as you are easing th e lock assembly back into place Then straighten out so the lower stud exits through the lower hole Then finalize the lock to the door frame

    Awesome, that is incredible. With no garage, or auto dealer garage charging 2500 dollars, which this Billion Kia of Rapid City South Dakota is attempting to charge me, for 3 doors that were broken in to, the small piece next to the door handle, was popped off, and the key & cylinder were broken off, and they than turned the inside part to open the door, the passenger side, and right rear door were burglerized the same, the small cover next to the door handle were popped off, and the part of the door lock, was removed. This took 40 minutes to fix.

      @n1njab0b  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry to hear about the burglary but I’m so thrilled my video helped you save all that money!

    I made a deflected 'L' shaped pick out of a piece of metal (actually from a street sweeper blade). Put it inside that frame from the inside of the car and in about a minute had it open- no scratches either!

    • @n1njab0b
      @n1njab0b  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Timothy Ley Nice! I could not for the life of me get anything inside that gap to open the door without taking it off the hinges.

    omg this is so entertaining.... I'm just preparing to do this job myself but maybe I"ll consider adding some challenge and use the tools you're using, and forget what a screw and a nut are. HAA! I jest. This is a really helpful video. Thanks guys.

    The old unit is not totally broken, the reason it does not open from outside is a "broken spring" holding a white sliding blastick peice inside that compartment, replace it and the door will work fine again. No need to change the whole unit

    Great video, but I replaced my door lock actuator and now the window rolls up slower and sounds like the motor is working harder, did you run into this problem? If not any advice ?

    • @n1njab0b
      @n1njab0b  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that Johnny, as you may have surmised from the video, I am not an expert, but my first guess would be that maybe the window is not aligned properly in the guide which would cause friction and require more force to roll it up. Just my guess. Good luck to you!
