On the Prius C/ Aqua model this is a very common problem when people rip the cover off to access the 12v battery under the rear seat, they lean on the "service plug" and push it down and open the interlock. On other models where it is in the boot/trunk quite often if the cover for it is removed people will catch it with tools or luggage and disengage it. To be honest you should really have the ignition off and disconnect the 12v battery before touching this plug. I also ensure I have dry hands. Very simple fix, I have heard of dealers charging $300 for this. Cheers.
I heard that people come to auction yards and disable things in cars in order to win the auction. Maybe someone changed the interlock to win the auction
Yup, our shop does work for several small car lots in the area, and I’ve seen it quite a few times where the car will come in with some issue and you’ll find like a fuse completely missing or something. People at the auction will yank a fuse so the car won’t start or something and they can get a better deal
I think the interlock under the hood is under the inverter cover. They just want the high voltage system covered before energizing it in case someone took the cover off.
Yes, and it's pretty high, I have the artidiag Pro which is not even in their "Professional" segment and it is 249$ a year, the one he uses is the Phoenix Pro, the highest they have if I don't remember wrong is was more than 550$ a year
@@motorvueng yes I suffer from the same because I don't live in the US so my prices are not in dollars, so 249 is a lot, what I did is I bought in on Amazon and it came with 2 years worth of updates free and then in the package there was a card that if I wrote my opinion in Amazon they would give me an extra year, I did so I have 3 years worth of Updates, and the artidiag was like 439$ because of black Friday, so when this 3 years finish, maybe I won't pay it, instead buy other one, hope it makes sense.
It comes with 2 years free, then after that it is $550 a year. If your looking for something with a cheaper subscription, check out the Otofix D1 lite, it comes with 2 years free and then $119 a year. it has really good capabilities, the only real downside is that it is kind of slow.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics got it thank you brother. That's what I was going to plan to use. A gopro. Keep up the good content man love watching your work
@@loyaltymobilemechanic if you don't own a GoPro yet, it might be worthwhile to research the DJI action 5, seems like it has better low light video compared to the GoPro. I can't decide if I should buy one.
Today my 2019 hybrid has let me down for the first time since I bought it four years ago. Basically when I parked my car, I noticed that I didn't close one of the windows on the back. Then I turned the button key on, but nothing happened. Long store short, it doesn't even start now, light works, hazards work, but it does not start up. Radio is off too. We tried to charge it from another car, same thing. First minute it two we could see tiny sparks when connecting jumper cables, but after no sparks whatever. The car locks with my keys no problem. Can anybody answer what might be the issue. Thanks AMMMM
I noticed the same thing too about the filter. The fact that the cover wasn’t properly in place tells me that someone may have quickly opened it and partially disconnected the plug so the car wouldn’t start so the auction price would be lower.
This guy is a genius, I have learnt so many things from you. We have never seen your face but we have seen your work. Many greetings from Kenya
Thanks!

I usually use the toughbook cf-33, I get them really cheap on ebay. however in this video I'm using the dell latitude 7212.

@@loyaltymobilemechanic I use Capcut on a PC. TH-cam studio you can only edit a drop, like cut out a part of the video or blur something.
How do I get my alldatta wiring diagram working on my topdon tool in Nigeria like did ?
I wasn't using my TopDon for all data, that was on a separate windows tablet.
Topdon scanner or Launch? Witch is better?
It's the same software. I feel the hardware is better on TopDon, but that can be just the ones I have.

That has happened so many times that's just a standard fix by now
💯 I get called for it around twice a month.
Why the F is anyone who is not working on the Hybrid Battery messing with the HVSI?
lol wow
Probably deliberate
