Thanks for this informative video. I watched another one with the same problem. What gets me with your's is the amount of rust on the bearing. Six years as of the time of the airing of this video. I have a 2015 (hit the "magic" 7 year mark) in Canada with a lot of salting of the roads and humidity in Ontario here. I can't hear the rubbing of the bearing etc but I'd imagine one of more of the bearing isn't looking so good. Thanks I love it when mechanics show and explain repairs.
Twice I got the Stability Trak warning. But it went away by itself, the problem is that now the tire that is behind the driver's side when you brake something hard gets stuck, what can I do? I am from Mexico trying to communicate with you to know if you think it could be this failure of what you mention, no workshop can find the problem. I don't have any light on or abs, nothing, also, it is worth mentioning that if the tire is immobilized, then you step on the brake several times, it comes off, the tire moves forward again, but I want to not struggle any suggestions? I have already asked for enough money 😢, already changed front brake pads, rectified discs, purged all the tires and nothing, now they told me to change the brake pump to see if it is solved, because the brake was also sinking a lot, so they filled and purged, but it remained the same. It is malibu 2013, comes from the snow, if this little rust from below. I ask you please for an opinion. Thank you!
From what I understand the rear pads can get stuck in the caliper bracket. If this is the case the area where the caliper comes in contact with the pads should be clean and sometimes the removal of some material is necessary for the pads the be able to slide properly. Hope this helps
If you live in snow conditions, When you get home after driving your daily driver you should rinse down your under carrage at least once a week with your hose , theres salt on the roads and salt eats away at all your vital parts and frame. You can save lots of headaches and money.
I have a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox . Code c056d-00. I’m at a loss determining if there’s a wheel bearing requiring replacement. Which one? Can worn pads set a code? I had a few intermittent stabilitrak warnings, now it’s always on. Clearing the code causes the warning to reappear after engine start. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Those calipers are light as hell. I also don’t suggest removing those speed sensors if you live in the rust belt as you’ll definitely break it taking it out.

It was missing the true test to see that it is work fine.
dont let the caliper hang by the break line
Calipers on those Malibus are so light if it breaks your hose you got bigger problems.
That won’t bother it a bit on that car
You forgot to grease all the pieces and screws and nuts and paint any metal pieces. It was a time to clean up all.

I have noticed that people who tend to use the car wash frequently in the winter have much less rot on their vehicles.
@@eddiesspeedgarage I just bought a 2015 Malibu and I try to wash the bottom of the car and undercoat it at least one a year.

Very useful video and information. Thanks a lot.
Every video states take the 3 hub bolts off but no one ever shows how they got them off. 🤦🏾♂️
Awesome video I have the same abs lights on did the replacement clear them?
Yes it did
I'm literally cringing watching the caliper dangle on the brake line. Also you could remove the speed sensor so you don't damage it.
