Audi A1 1.6 TDI CR Oil and Filter Change Service CXMA 8XF/8XK 2015-2018

How to change the oil and oil filter on the Audi A1 1.6 TDI.
32mm oil filter socket, torque 25Nm
19mm sump plug, torque 30Nm
Oil capacity 4.9 litres
Model years: 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Did you fill the filter housing up with oil before you put it back on??

Hi Jason,
No need, after filling the oil the filter housing will fill when running. After running switch off for 5-10mins and top up the oil as necessary according to the dipstick.

What size was the socket for the oil filter

Hi Owen, I can’t remember for certain but I think either 27mm or 32mm, sorry I can’t be sure

As far as I’m aware it should be!

The filter must be underneath on all Audi, looks hard to reach, We’ll give it a go.

The Audi A3 1.6TDI is a different layout to this A1. However it’s the same as the VW Golf engine. Tricky filter location, upside down and concealed by wires which need to be unclipped and unplugged for access.
