She knows that it’s common enough for the males to hurt or eat the pups. Wolves do the same thing. In fact, some female wolves won’t let the male in the den until the pups are about one or two months old. Other female wolves will raise the pups together with the male since they form lifelong bonds. His job is to hunt and bring back food to lay at the entrance of the den, and to protect the territory from outsiders. The same instincts go towards dogs apparently. Dogs tho, do not mate for life. The males get one female pregnant then move on to other partners. They often chase down female dogs in groups and rape her together, sometimes rape her to death. Same goes for cats, ducks, and those innocent dolphins people think never do wrong. Wolves form lifelong bonds and mate for life. They don’t have multiple partners

Wolves do that too. Male dogs - wolves, domestic dogs, dingoes - are attentive fathers (unlike most mammals) if not taken away, but the mothers only let them interact when the babies are a bit more developed, for safety

She's being overly protective because they're so young, but she'll settle down. She's growling and hitting him with her nose, but no rougher than that - he barely reacts the last few times. The dad will get his puppy time eventually :)

Wtf are you talking about? Male dogs instinctively kill puppies whether they belong to them or not. The pups are cockblockers for the males. Killing the puppies will put the female dog back in heat because she’ll want more puppies instinctively that is. She knows the puppies are in danger.

Thank you for sharing this video . Not long ago I was blessed my 2 Doberman dogs got pregnant . Safe birth , each female had 12 puppies so yes lots of work . Your dogs I can see are purebred like mine were . They look beautiful with outstanding coats and perfect proportions. Gorgeous . I love the pup stage and the training of each individual young dog . It has nothing to do with sex, they have problems that will only add to the child's problems when growimg up after the divource. When making a judgement on who should keep the child, it should come down to who is more stable and provide a better enviorment for the child to grow supported into a healthy adult. It should not matter the gender of the parent. So any bias in either direction is wrong. Takes two to tango, even if you have to carry it, it is half of both of parents. Also just cause it came out of you does not mean you automatically own the child. The child owns both parents and not the other way round. The court should only be on the side of the child, the only truely innocent party of a divorce.

It has been known to happen that dad dogs attacks the puppies - especially if they are male because he sees them as a competition for his mate. He doesn't know that they are his, not like the mom does. So it's only natural that she's suspicious towards him. He seems very friendly and curious though :)

We had a beagle, and we brought one of his puppys to our home for a little while (he was a pure breed so we got paid to let him and a female beagle have babies)
He never met the pup before so we were nervous, but he imidately run towards her and happily started licking her. He took good care of her untill she went to her forever home.
Dog dads usualy recognize their pups cause canines are pretty good at family stuff.
But sometimes they do attack their cubs even tough they know that they are their cubs. It's very common for street dogs, cause they are having a hard time on the streets so raising cubs doesn't look like a good option.
Fun-ish Fact: Sometimes female dogs kill thier pups too. Source: I had two females who gave birth at the same time. One killed all but two of her pups, abandoning one of the two she didn't kill outright. She actually tried burying it alive.

Its really fun watching these videos when you know about canine body language. You can see dad is relaxed and curious, and while mama is certainly being cautious, she wont attack him for real. She's only nudging him away with a warning.

Mom is also cautious but not too concerned or protective. If she was super concerned she wouldnt turn her back on the dad that close to the pups and especially the stray pup. They are both very sweet about it.

It’s normal for mothers to not let the father see the pups for a few days after birth. They’re usually flooded with maternal hormones that make them overprotective after giving birth.
Nah, this is defo around 1-2 weeks after the birth. Some of them have their eyes open (which happens nornally at around 4 - 7 days old) and they're moving about too easily to only be a few days old. The mother is just being a bitch (pun intended lol)
