Thank you - it’s a lovely site and feels proper Lake District - Roxy loved the water (as always) and it’s nice it wasn’t too busy also! All the very best, David & Rachel 👍❤️
Thanks Mo, really appreciated. It’s a lovely site right in the rural Lake District surrounded by hills and mountains - hope you’re good. Thanks again, All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
What a lovely site surrounded by all those gorgeous mountains! Tragic about the brothers and the name change! Roxy enjoyed having a swim! Shame about your friend falling off a ladder! We miss Lake hiking and feeling achey have a great week 👍
We were gutted about James. He was booked 2020 too and we all know how that turned out! 🦠 third time lucky? David would climb those hills - I would sit and look and you two would spring up them! 😂😂 Rachel & David
Hi David and Rachel what a great place to stay the setting is wonderful in the fold of the mountains such a great place for walking and admiring the scenery cannot get over how clear the water is It sounds an amazing site and well maintained and lots of facilities shame about the pub for dinner but a reason to go back! Hope your friend feels better soon all the best to you both Daniel
I didn’t fancy climbing one of those mountains that’s for sure! The little walk to the lake was ample fine for me (Rachel) Thank you for your comment x Rachel & David
Hiya David Rachel and Roxy Another Great vlog seems a really nice campsite and all the facilities that go with it. Also nice to see all the campers still about these days as well. Nice to see the weather held out for you as well. Plenty of walks for Roxy as well. On Sunday we were at Lowther Castle and gardens at Penrith a lovely warm day it was. Today is Tuesday and it's back to the usual. Windy Cold and drizzle 😢 Keep promoting the best over the west. Malcolm and Sheila from Workington.
Thanks Malcolm and Sheila - it’s been great to be back over west again and with nice weather too - hopefully we will be over again soon. Hope you are both doing ok - all the best David & Rachel 👍
Thank you - it’s a lovely site and proper Lake District with hills and mountains all around - and the lake of course - thanks again, all the very best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi, and im Trev 🙂 Lovely place, Debz keeps going on about going to the Lake District, knowing our luck it will rain all the bloody time we are there 🙂 Nice pitch with a great view, not too bad a price as well 🙂
Hi Trev I am Rachel 😂 it’s rare for it not to rain in the lakes to be fair! We just hit it lucky I guess this time! Pack your rain coat and jobs a good one x
Thank you - we only wish we could have stayed longer - I’m sure you would have wanted the same from your trip 😀 The Lakes is great isn’t it. Thanks very much for the comment - all the very best, David & Rachel 👍
That took me down memory lane. We camped there in our tent with our two small children over 20 years ago. Apart from some more hard standing it doesn’t seem to have changed much. Thank you for the video. Take care Gill
Thanks Gill, pleased it hasn’t changed too much, assume it must have been grass when you were there, I couldn’t remember if when we were last there it was grass or handstanding. Pleased you enjoyed it - have a great week, all the very best, David & Rachel 👍
Hi guys, i really want to visit the lakes we went a few years ago and it was soooo busy put me off going again, but im sure we,ll brave it, enjoy your vlogs. Thank you xx
Thank you - it can get quite busy can’t it - if you go in the week and slightly out of season it can be a bit quieter but you are right it does get busy as it’s popular. All the very best , David & Rachel 👍
Thanks Tim. Yes if you go there probably best going through the pub carpark as it was quite tight - wouldn’t fancy it in anything much wider. Nice site, proper Lake District. Have a lovely week. All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
We were in the same area a couple of days after you (we were there on the Tuesday after the bank holiday) we stayed at Gillside farm campsite just before Patterdale. Lovely area, shame we only had the one day there will definitely be going back soon.
It’s a lovely area - wish we had more time there too - especially when it’s nice weather. What wa Gillside Farm Campsite like?. Would you recommend it? Thanks very much for commenting, all the very best. David & Rachel 👍
It was nice our first stay over at a "proper camp site" it had static caravans, room for tents and 5 tourer pitches with electric (they were very close together, as we're all the pitches) We chose to not have electric hook up and park on the gravel area next to the river (looked like a small car park) there was a small toilet block, shower block, wash up area and washer and tumble dryers (all on coin meters) it had good access for the various walks around the area. It was unusually busy, but I think that was due to a school trip - maybe Duke of Edinburgh. Cost £11 per person, £1 per dog, £5 for electric hook up, £1 for awning. We managed a night away again last night at Semerwater in the Yorkshire dales just below Hawes. It is just a large area on the shore of the lake with no amenities at all. Costs £3 per person and £3 for the van for an overnight stay. Fantastic views from the park up. Would recommend if you fancied a trip away without the amenities (give your Roamer battery a good test) Our next trip will be van life festival at Scampston hall outside of Malton, was hoping to do van love at Elvington again this year, but can't get the time off work. All the best to you, Rachel and Roxie, and look forward to the next video.
@jimmyporter2008 thank you - fancy giving semerwater a go at some point, did a walk from there years back - lovely area - shame ref Vanlove - hope you enjoy the one near Mallon 👍
Yes the prices have always been high in the Lakes (normally find 25-50% more than other areas even years ago when we went) - supply and demand and all that, but it has gone up further like most places. It certainly is, all be it as you know you can find some bargains if you hunt around - thanks for watching, imagine we will catch you on the next ‘Bit’ next Sunday lol ::) all the very best David & Rachel 👍
Another beautiful site. Some fabulous walks as well. lovely to see Roxy enjoying the water too. Love her. Thanks for sharing ❤️😊👍

It was stunning and such a short walk to the lake! I agree with you - we must go back 😂😂
Looks like a lovely place. I think we've all walked a little further than we should've before. Thanks for sharing. Chris.

Iv just checked if there was room this weekend. Sadly full. Was good to see the site thanks to your upload.
Hope you manage to get in another time, I know it’s quite a popular site - we loved the views and experience. All the very best, David & Rachel 👍

A nice trip by the look of things and sunny too. Sorry to hear about your friend. As you said early doors the other entrance looked tight.

Nice site, it’s a pity that pitch prices are getting so dear, seems expensive for two nights ☹️☹️
It’s about the going rate for the Lake District unfortunately and did have electric hookup- lovely area. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Crazily we’ve never been to the lakes, looked great but the prices are getting out of hand. It’s an expensive game these days!
