My hubs thought she was a real local friend the way I've referenced her so much this year with all my changes-basically copying her ways. So yes 100% he knows her and he definitely knows her amazon list. Hahaha Her mop is headed my way woo hoo.

We started with TGTB for math & LA. I was purposely looking for reasons to try something new & shiny. After wasting money & more important, time with other curriculums, I ended coming back. TGTB works!

Thank you for making this video! This is our very first year homeschooling and my daughter is 9. I believe we are still in transition from years of traditional school. I LOVE everything about The Good and the Beautiful! And because of this curriculum, my eyes have been opened to the holes in my daughter’s education and I can see the good and the beautiful slowly filling in those gaps. The creative, hands on, and life related content and style is amazing! Not to mention the emphasis on God being at the center of everything is so beautiful. This video has given me comfort in my decision to use the good and the beautiful, as a new homeschooling mom, I was hoping and praying I was making the right decision but of course second guessing thoughts like to creep in and plant doubt seeds, so thank you for reaffirming my decision.

I am a newish (slightly pre-covid lol) homeschooler and I feel so spoiled by TGATB. I am terrified of it ever going away because I don’t think I could live without it! We use handwriting, language arts, science and history. It’s fantastic!! I have only been homeschooling since January of 2020 but I’m already amazed at how much I’ve seen my son learn.

New homeschooler and happened to stumble upon your TGATB review just as I began researching during corona. We jumped right in and love it! To watch my children grow is amazing, and I’m learning new things too in History. We are using the LA, Science, handwriting and History curriculums and a different curriculum for math because I have two that weren’t at the age for the Math available. Thank you for for your honest reviews, it really does help 🤗

TGTB was a direct answer to prayer for us! We hated the one we were using for the first three years. I LOVE their History, such a great appreciation for the Constitution, freedom, etc. Also, in Language Arts, the topics for the essays, such as how being optimistic can affect your life, etc. Such, good, good philosophies and ideals, stories. Just love all of it!

I’ve been teetering on beginning homeschool with my 9,8 and 4 year old for a while- mostly because we actually adore our school and the district. But it’s always been on my heart. The Good and the Beautiful has been the curriculum I keep feeling pulled back to. I’ve watched several videos on why people have stopped and they have 100% made me WANT to go with TGATB even more😄 I’ve binged on loads of your videos and I love them! Thanks for putting yourself out there and for all of the guidance you provide💛💛

We love it too! Your videos definitely influenced my decision to use TGATB with my children. I love how the lessons are organized and encourage parental guidance and participation, even in the higher levels (my 11-year old is in Level 5 of the LA, and we both appreciate the snuggle time we get while reading in the Shared Reader together). TGATB has been such a blessing in our homeschool. I love that we can be learning about something like marine invertebrates and feel the Spirit of the Lord helping us to have greater love for God's creations.

I started off with TGTB, but then second guessed myself when “you-know-who” dragged TGTB through the mud. I wasted about a year & a half floundering with other curriculum: SonLight, Ambleside Online, ACE, AAS, Math Mammoth, Beautiful Feet Books, Story of the World, hmmm.. I’m probably forgetting some... I finally revisited TGTB & looked at it from MY OWN perspective & realized it was EXACTLY what I wanted. My kids even asked to go back to it, because they looove it! I only wish TGTB would continue math through high school!!!!

I could have written this myself, except we were away from TGTB for 2 1/2 (long!) years. We made the switch back and could not have been happier! My children are 4-15 years and everything we are using from TGTB for all ages is wonderful. I'm so thankful to be back!

I think that is a valuable lesson! We each need to follow OUR convictions on things and not others. That doesn't mean we can't listen to a caution and see if it is true or not but ultimately God leads us each individually. His word and Spirit as our guide not every individual who may have a strong opinion. That was HER conviction not mine. I've used it for years despite the mud-dragging.

We started using TGATB this school year, thanks to your videos. Last year was our first year homeschooling. I never thought I'd homeschool but my son had a horrible time in public school and I have completely fallin in love with homeschooling. Last year we used time4learning because I was terrified to teach. Watching your videos encouraged me to give it a try. My son actually enjoys learning with this curriculum. Sometimes he will ask me can we try that one more time. All the smiles we share while he is working is priceless and I am so thankful. Please keep up the good work sharing all you have learned because it has really helped me. God bless you and your family

This is my 10th year homeschooling my 5 kids. I had tried multiple curriculums but I was always left feeling like there were holes, and not being satisfied. 3-4 years ago I found THATB and I am forever grateful!!! There is no perfect curriculum but when you find a pretty good one you stick with it! Each one of my kids learn differently and with TGATB I can teach them to what works for them. I have done every level of the LA from the very beginning to level 7 and now my 9th grader is doing the HS1. It’s reassuring to see how the levels build on each other and how the units are in high school. My son is really enjoying the units. All the levels are so rich. It is true what you said that curriculum is fun to buy (and I’m terrible for that) but when I put my curriculum together each year, I can’t help but be excited to keep using TGATB and what each of my kids will learn that year! Your video said all the things I think about this curriculum and I’m so thankful for you and your videos 💓

I have tried, a couple different curriculum, Sonlight, Abeka, and some subjects from Master Books. While they all are good. I have taught primer through 8th grade using The Good and Beautiful, having 6 kiddos in different grades and some in the same grade. In my opinion it is the most well rounded curriculum. It is easily broken down, it is easy to teach and I have seen my kids retain that information, from one year to the next year. History was most of my children's dreaded Subject, it has become a favorite for some and it is no longer dreaded. I have used this curriculum for a few years now and will continue to in the future.

This is our first year of using TGATB. Our daughter is a freshman in HS, so we’re using LA HS Year 1. We love it!! Because we’ve never used it before, I haven’t seen the progression yet, but I believe we will. It’s important to us that it helps to get her ready for college, since that’s her goal. As far as subjects we have stuck with, Saxon Math is the only one, so far. This is just our second year homeschooling. Last year, our first year, she was doing Classical Conversations. We chose not to continue with CC, therefore we had yet another year of new curriculum. But that’s ok! One year at a time! God bless! 🌺

I'm on year three of TGATB. I always get sucked in when I watch curriculum videos. I purchase different curriculum and always end up donating it because TGATB just has me spoiled. I don't know why I let myself believe I'll ever leave it bc I won't. I would like to say that I believe in evolution and I am able to make it work for my family very easily. I just skip a paragraph if it involves God. I have tried many of the secular curriculums, but I have found nothing that compares to TGATB. It's so simple to teach and covers so much information.

I love TGTB. I've used it since Kindergarten with my daughter for LA and absolutely love it...and better yet, she loves it so much. There are times that I have questioned whether we need to do something else in addition or instead and we always stick with it. She has learned sooooo much that and loves to learn. We haven't tried history and science yet but we may as she gets older...shes my only and she's in 3rd. Right now we do use something else for those subjects but that might change next year. We have started using their math 3 and she loves it so much. I go back and forth with should we stick with it but I do think that we will be. She loves that too. I love all your videos!

I don’t use TGATB, but I DO 100% agree that if you love it and it’s working then stay with it! When you jump around from one thing to the next, that’s when you get “gaps” and who wants that if it’s unnecessary?
This is only our second year, but we started with Math-U-See and I don’t see changing from it any time soon. 👍🏻 Same with All About Reading/Spelling. We love it and until it stops working, we’ll be using it! ♥️

It's great that you found such a good fit for your family. I've been tempted to try it since it is very affordable and pretty, but my kids are at such different levels in different aspects of LA that I think a broad curriculum would not fit well.
I agree that there is value in sticking with a curriculum through multiple levels. We're two levels into All About Reading and it's so easy to prep lessons. I and the kids are accustomed to the format, so everyone knows what to expect and can focus on the content.

I started homeschooling four years ago with BookShark but I quickly realized that it wasn't going to work for my daughter. I'd heard about TGTB and it seemed like a safe curriculum to use. She's a very advanced reader and I was happy that I could place her in a level appropriate to her skill and not have to worry about some of the things she would be asked to read. I've been tempted by other curriculum mostly because of FOMO but she is learning so well with it, that I can't see a real reason to try something else. I've now added my middle daughter and they both use the math as well (which we really love). The science and history haven't worked for their learning styles but that's okay. I love the flexibility of being to able to tailor those subjects, especially with the security of knowing that we are on a firm foundation for the "basics".

The Good and the Beautiful isn't a fantastic fit for us, but I love our history and science curriculum and don't see those changing any time soon (maybe never - we can cycle through them again at the higher level). We use America's Story (and will move on to World's story) from Master Books, as well as the God's Design for Life science series. I like to have programs that are basic and pretty minimal that I can fill in with loads of resources, books, and opportunities that are tailored to my kids and where they are at. We're still settling into the "just right for us" on a few things, but that's OK. Like you said, it's about watching them learn and grow and seeing those sparks of joy in learning.

The lessons are more streamlined in the new level and for lack of a better phrase, more predictable. This is so so important for this particular child. The lessons seem a bit shorter as well on most days than. If you have the older version and watch the video on TGATB website, you should be able to get a good idea whether it would be worth it for you to get the new version.

@@circlemhomeschool9759 Thank you! Yes I have the old version and have been looking through the new version download. My son usually is a super reluctant reader but did well with The Kingdom of Kind in Level 3 as it was written in the textbook. It’s funny but I think he did so well because he underlined it as he went instead of feeling overwhelmed by the number of pages in the typical reader. So so interesting! Thank you for your response ❤️❤️

TGATB LA is amazing it is really so much more than just LA. We are also using TGATB level 1 math... at first I didn't think much of it , it appeared to be too wordy ( lots of stories ) for our daughter who has Autism. So we decided to pick and choose from the lessons what we feel will work with her and then we add Math Mammoth to it. The 2 curriculums together are so perfect together for her. She is thriving and gaining all of the concepts. She loves the " Daily Dose" it is her favorite thing ever! She also loves TGATB handwriting. Our older son loves everything TGATB. Usually at this time of the year we start to look at if we want to change anything and for the first time ever we don't feel like anything needs to be changed.

Thanks for sharing. I do think there is so much benefit from sticking through a curriculum. This is our third year using Ambleside Online and I'm so glad we've stick with it, instead of abandoning it for the next shiny new thing. Kids need to know what to expect sometimes. ❤️

I love seeing the progression throughout the years. I absolutely love that for the High School level they earn credits for 3 subjects, Language Arts, Art History, and Geography. Everything flows so beautifully throughout the subjects. Now with those praises being said.
We did not enjoy the history at all. We felt Meterology is geared towards lower elementary, that fell short for us.

We used Geography Matters Trail Guide to Learning (Paths of Settlement) several years ago when our older kids were in 3rd and 5th grade. They absolutely LOVED reading the living books. We all enjoyed learning about our nation’s beginnings and I appreciated integrating all subjects (except math) through History. We used the very simple Christian Light Education math lightunits. The POS curriculum was RICH and taught them a lot about Christian character and hard work. Now, at ages 18 and 16, they still talk fondly of the time we spent doing science experiments and cooking together while learning what it took to settle our nation! So naturally, I’m repeating with my little 2nd grader and loving every minute so far-but still searching for a math that is better suited to his learning style. 🥰

I LOVE this!! We just started homeschooling this year, and after a lot of prayer and research we landed on TGTB curriculum. We have a 2nd grader, kindergartener and a preschooler and everything that we have used so far we have absolutely loved. Our kids love the science and history units so much!
I am curious- since TGTB hasn’t expanded their math curriculum past level 3 yet, what do you use for your older kiddos? I’m really hoping that Jenny and her team will be able to keep up with the demand lol, but I also realize that might not be a possibility. I’m sure they’re working hard to expand, but after level 3, I’m wondering what to use that could fit our standard for high moral content and academic learning. 😊 Thanks again for a great video!!

Thank you, x I’d love to learn more about the Math curriculum, I have taken a look at the sample pages for levels 2 and 3 and they appear so much less arithmetic and actual work than what we currently use, lots of fluff and frills but not enough full of math, so though it looks lovely, I can’t see it cutting it for the exams in the U.K., wondered how’s its been with any public exams or any information on reviews from home edders in other countries? The one curriculum we have never changed (well except for a couple false starts way back in Kinder) is Math-u-See. My freshman started with Primer when he was 5 and is now doing Geometry. In fact when my middle girl was 4yo I had all this fun preschool printable stuff laminated and she took one look and said, "No way. I want brother's teacher," meaning Mr. Demme on tne videos that she watched on my lap while working with her big brothers. Now she is up to Zeta (decimals). I will say I might give TGAB math a try next year with my youngest ones (4 and 3) but I'm not convinced it's as solid a program as MUS but it does look fun. We are using the Pre-K book with them now and I am enjoying it.

So, when you started using this 4 years ago, I wasn’t interested. But I’ve watched your videos here and there about TGAB (trying not to be swooned by a new shiny object ;) but I especially am interested in the science ones)
This year I decided to try both handwriting for my littlest, and Marine Biology!
My youngest LOVES the handwriting. And you are so right about the simplicity and engagement in the science! My kids (and probably most kids) want to EXPERIENCE what they’re learning, not just read or listen about it. So our very first lesson.....I kind of am wondering if I may soon be a convert!!! 😜 I think we are definitely going to be doing more units (your recommendations are very helpful in that!)
And I’m also very curious about the language arts. You’ve got me thinking. 😉
    For curriculum I’ve never changed......
    Singapore math through 6th grade.
That’s it. We started with my fathers world and then switched to classical conversations for 4 years. Deciding if I’m going back to that or not next year. This year, I needed to stay home and not wear a mask! 😜 and I’m loving the freedom. But at the same time, I still believe in classical education. #conflicted I’m very intrigued by TGAB but having a high schooler next year.....sigh!! Not sure.

Ive been using tgtb for language arts, math, and science. Ive totally ignored History. But I've been dreading the History we're using called notgrass. Its soooo boring and I end up having to reiterate everything i just read to my children bc they're not retaining anything I read 😒. I also have a lot of different ages, 8th grade and 3rd grade and 1st grade and Kinder. So I've had to separate them into 2 different groups. My 8th grader does hers alone and shes says it's boring and it takes her a while to finish so im going to try this out. The website says they have discontinued it bc they're creating a different one by summer 2024. I was thinking about waiting but I need to change this now! So I'm going to buy what they have left hopefully theres still level 1 and then hopefully it will smoothly transfer to their new and improved one in 2024. 🤷🏽‍♀️ So this video was very helpful, I'm sold bc everything else from tgtb is awesome and my children enjoy it so this has to be great as well. 👌🏽

We also switched everything except Language Arts to TGATB...not sure why, honestly, but we will likely be switching next year. What we use now works, but isn't the best. I think this is one case where the grass IS greener, when it's TGATB on the other side.
