I have a teacher who teaches "you cant go broke taking profits", but his meaning behind is more of a don't be greedy kind of thing, like when your profit targets are hit, take the profits even if you "think" the stock may go higher. That way you don't turn a winner into a loser by being greedy. Love your videos Jared. You got me into trading seriously, I am down a lot on the year but getting better by managing risk. When I make enough money to pay for your course, I am in bro! Working hard to make that sooner than later.

Thank you Jared! This video is me in a nutshell. I rewatched parts of it over and over. I trade 9:25-10am and 1 stock a day, make a PPT on how I traded and how I should have traded. I have been trading PM and after 10am and losing 80% of my loses in this time. I found during my time frame I am loosing money also by not following my plans for stops and take profit. I now see where I have been making mistakes and calculated how much it is costing me. I am committed to follow my plan! You have shown me where I can be if I do it. I will no longer have to answer to my boss!!!! Thank you🙏

Yes Jared!!! Yes!! This happens to me soo much more then I would like to admit. I "know" how to trade. But like a freaking addict! I buy when I KNOW I should not. And everytime I kick myself. When I get stopped out or buy way too high on my longer holds....spend mo
nths adding til it goes higher and sell far too early. I will have to watch this video atleast 2 more times. I needed this 🙌💛

Since writing the last comment I applied what I learnt from this video. I took a decision and I’m running with it. Last week I had my biggest trades ever, 5.5R on Friday to finish the week. Never happened before but I am a new man, I really had a strong realization after this video.
I am getting help from my wife, I call her at 2R when I start getting jittery.

Letting my winners ride vs "taking profits" is why I am a profitable trader vs a losing one. Many of my trades are meager or fail. If I didn't let the multibaggers run to offset the losers I would not be a successful trader. The idea is like Venture capital. They invest in many companies knowing most will not become the next Facebook or Google, but that one that is a Unicorn offsets all the other duds.
The way I let my winners ride is by primarily raising my stop loses. I let the market tell me when the trade is over in most cases though there are times the move is so big I do close the position without stopping out.

stop loss orders dont always work the way you want them to work and for that reason I dont use them on some positions as well because it always ends with the stock falling to my stop loss and then rebounding higher.
and for those that will say, "your stop loss orders are too tight", since when is 10-15% below current prices too tight? it's even worse in the forex market as gaps will fall by the stop loss trigger and you're left holding the bag anyway. look what happened to ALLK lately for a prime example.
