- Mark & Simon are in the Moelwyns in Eryri (Snowdonia North Wales ) we take a hike up to the Summit of Cnicht before dropping down and heading over to Llynnau Cerrig Y Myllt to set up camp for the night.

I have used this tent for the whole of 2023, I got it as they were being liquidated to make way for REIs updated version debacle....about 3lbs for the new one...smh. This tent weighs 1lb 12.5 oz on my digital scale. packs down small, tons of room ( I am 6'2" and 250lbs) for me and all of my gear, spent multiple nights in the rain....no leaks.....I wish the vestabules came down lower. In my opinion this was the one that got away for a bunch of people cause I dont think it was well known....? I also have their Magma 30 quilt...long/wide...20 oz it comes completely over my head....was out at least 5 nights right freezing 32-35 F was surprised how warm I was.....only one night had to put my puffer on but it was very damp out and windy......unfortunately REI doesnt make ultralight gear anymore....Im so glad I was able to find these before they became unavailable.
Thanks for commenting, we love this tent as it’s lightweight roomy although I agree with you about the vestibules we think they should come down lower as well but all in all a great piece of kit 👍👌

What a fantastic spot guys, so nice and the tent looks ideal too. Did you have to import it from the USA.
I remember I was 28 and I stayed 2 nights at a farm house on the bend at Tan Lan. Did those hills and in the evening walked to a pub on the roadside along the straight.

Hi Dave thanks for watching, it’s a lovely area around there it’s so quiet. The tent was half price as it’s being discontinued so the price of the tent with free shipping and £59 import duty cost about £208 which is a good deal 👍 so far so good we are pretty happy with it 👍 take care, Simon & Mark

Thank you for the video showing your experience with your new tent. I have the same model tent. It appeared that you did not have the small vents on the ceiling open. I believe they exist to help with air circulation, so perhaps opening them would ease the condensation a little bit.
Thanks for watching the video, the reason we left the vents closed was to keep the tent as warm as we can but will open the vents on the next camp 😉 👍

Nice video fellas. I was worried someone else may have beaten you to the spot, given there were a few at the peak. Glad you had it to yourselves! Not convinced of that mash potato mind you. Get some blue cheese in there! 🙂. Did someone mention Switzerland? 😂 Nice use of the drone too. Is that the DJI pro 3? Just about to invest in one, impressed by how far away it could fly from you! Glad the tent works out. if the wind gets up,could you possibly just lower the poles so the fly is closer to the ground and so less wind blowing through? Looks great though, love the shape of it, thought aliens had landed! ATB, Martin.

I was in Porthmadog on Monday and Cnicht looks stunning when looking down one of the streets in town. Another great video and the drone footage was spot on
