I really feel bad for Olivia Munn as Psylocke in this movie. Olivia proved in The Newsroom that she is a good actress, and she’s a massive fan of the character from the comics, but instead they did to her what they ironically did with Mystique in the first 3 movies, make her eye candy they does a couple of cool things then disappears, only in this case never to be seen again.
The song that thy guy is listening to is "Four Horseman' by Metallica. It is appropriate as Apocalypse gathers his Four Horseman as we watch Archangel be born. :)
I read an article quite a while ago where they said that MCU has hinted that the reason apocalypse is SO immensely powerful was because he discovered the body of the Celestial Tiamut within the Earth and used parts of it to improve his mutation beyond anything humanly possible. Also that his armor is actually made FROM pieces of Tiamut's own body. Considering that Earth was constructed around Tiamut and that its powers and technology are billions of years more advanced than Humanity that would be a cool connection; if it were true.
In my opinion, Apocalypse’s speech is one of the best villain speech in superhero films. Wolverine in this movie is made to look like the classic “Weapon X” version of him from the comics with that headset and everything
Sorry for asking this just to clarify myself, so THIS logan in that scene there in that particular event was caused by the current logan from the Days of Future Past right?
Hi @MagicMagy !! I'm from Poland and I had mixed feelings about this movie because of the image of Magneto's daughter and wife (in the movie they spoke pure Polish) In Lor X-Men there is a story of two children of Magneto Quicksilver and Wendy the witch (just like in Lor Marvel) Wendy was powerful a witch who controlled the energy and minds of living beings, it's a pity that they killed her in this story because she was equal to the power of Black-Fenix.
I think you mean WANDA not WENDY(who's a completely different fictional witch). But yes, Peter and Wanda Maximoff(aka Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch) are the children of Magneto in the comics.
That entire opening sequence is wild - it also serves as a perfect example to show just how devoted those original 4 Riders were, as compared to the ones Apocalyps recruits in the current timeline. Charles' interactions with Moira, accompanied by either Alex or Hank, are hilarious. We can see just how much he cares about her. Erik really was broken by this most recent loss, both his wife and daughter the victims of a stupid accident which could have easily been prevented. Angel's "empowerment" was by far the most gruesome. In comparison, Storm just got white hair, Magneto got another dose of trauma by bringing him back to that concentration camp and Psylocke got...encouraged? Raven finally got her chance to lead in this movie and she did so well enough, guiding the remaining mutants in Charles' absence. Quicksilver stole the show again, easily, with that slow mo sequence where he saves almost everyone in the mansion before it explodes. Alex's death, while tragic, feels like it helped Scott develop as a character. Stryker coming into equation again, first capturing the mutants which eventually lead to Logan's release was a nice little throwback to that particular scene which we've already seen two times in previous movies. The final battle with Apocalypse was pretty much over the moment Jean decided to intervene and unleash the "darkness" inside her. The action/fighting scenes were wonderfully done from start to finish. Thank you for the fantastic reaction ❤
The original story the phoenix is a universal living energy that chose Jean as a vessel to stop a mad alien ruler from using a powerful crystal to destroy the universe.
I've never understood why so many people disliked this one and the next one so much. Sure, they were different than the comics but what superhero/comic book movie isn't? The word adaptation literally means to change so of course they're going to be different. This was still a pretty good movie, even though there are some minor issues. But every movie ever made has issues, so they don't ruin the movie.
It’s always fun to see the girls so enthusiastic when watching a movie. They (like many of us) didn’t read the comic books so they don’t have to worry about whether they change the story arcs for the characters. They can simply enjoy them as they are presented here. If they enjoy it then I can usually find some enjoyment in that.
It shouldn't matter whether story arcs are changed or not, that's why it's called an ADAPTATION. There's gonna be some changes because that's what the word adaptation literally means: to change.
The woman with the energy blade like is Psyloke a mutant telepath that's British/ X-Men that was later kidnapped by ninja assassins and transferred her mind into a deadly female ninja assassin.
Did you know... James McAvoy starred as Paul Atreides in a Sci-Fy Channel series adaptation of Dune many years ago? It was actually pretty good. Not much next to the Villeneuve movies, but not bad for what they were.
This movie shows why all the X-Men movies went downhill after DOFP Mystique’s last words in First Class were “mutant and proud” yet she is almost never in her true blue mutant form, and she should never be thought of as a hero, she’s an unpredictable antihero at best. The real reason for all of this is because Jennifer Lawrence became such a superstar and Fox wanted to capitalize on that popularity by making Mystique into a hero loved by everyone. They also made the mistake of jumping another 10 years because all the characters from First Class should be in their late 40’s or early 50’s yet they all look, sound and act like they’re in their 20’s or 30’s. And finally Apocalypse was very badly mishandled. They never acknowledge the fact that he uses alien technology to enhance himself even after they show all of the Celestial technology in the beginning, including his armor. And Oscar Issac barely gets enough screen time to properly flesh out one of the greatest villains in comic history.
Most of the characters in First Class were TEENAGERS so they'd be in their late 20s-mid 30s by this point not 40s-50s. Apocalypse didn't need to be more fleshed out than he was and it wasn't necessary to mention the alien technology since it played no part in the movie besides the beginning. Jennifer Lawrence disliked the make up process so she asked if she could be in non-blue form more often. She actually was an unpredictable antihero, but the in-universe media painted her as a hero. As for why Psylocke had very little screen time, it had nothing to do with Lawrence. There was behind the scenes reasons, including scheduling conflicts, that caused her to have the small amount of screen time that she did. No offense, but it kinda sounds like you expected a bit too much from this movie.
Loved your reaction as always. You should check out society of the snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one. If you do watch it I recommend the original language with subtitles, the acting was amazing
I always loved this movie and never understood when i heared that so many others hated it. But maybe its because i haven't read X-Men comics when i was young, so i don't have these connections like for example with the Avengers where i just hated how they treated Hank Pym there because he was the real "frist avenger" and he was also the one who built Ultron. But still i don't hate the avengers movies, its just that that i really would have liked them a lot more if Hank and Janet were part of the core team, like they always were in the comics. Btw.: personally my biggest critique to this movie is, that i would have liked to see a lot more of Psylocke since she just looked soo good, it was maybe the most comic-accurate outfit ever that didn't looked cringe at all.
The MCU took some creative liberties to fit the narrative better, plus Hank hadn't been introduced let alone mentioned by that point so it wouldn't have made sense for him to be connected. Plus, Captain America is older than anyone else on the team(except maybe Thor)and S.H.I.E.L.D was founded because of him, so he is technically the first avenger. I do agree with your criticism on the lack of Psylocke screen time. There might have been some behind the scenes reasons for that though.
Although this movie is not very recognized, personally it is in my top 3 only after X-2 and Days of Future Past, but in general I like all the X Men movies (Yes, even Dark Phoenix)
39:29 I don't know why movies (or, for that matter, episodes of TV shows) started doing this. Time was, you tuned in again, with each new episode, because the last one was a pleasant viewing experience, so you expect _this_ one to be a pleasant viewing experience; not because the previous one planted a climactic seed that made you _really_ badly want to know what happened next. It's terrible.
I watet so long for you to react to dis movie, for me is the best of all of the xmen, specially after they show the true power of jean, showing the phoenix, in the other movies they never show her true powers only in this movie, and i love mor this young jean more😍🔥
According to the behind the scenes material on the First Class dvd, that change was made because we had seen Scott several times by that time but we hadn't seen Alex. So their relation was flipped around.
well he's archangel in this this... he's supposed to have more powers shoots metal feathers, has some healing abilities, fast flight, increased strength and endurance
Possibly, many have already told you. But I join in telling you that you should react to the X Men animated series, but not only to the new one, you could already say that it is the sixth season. But to see it from its beginnings. It's on Disney Channel. There are 5 seasons and then there is the new one. Believe me, it will be quite a journey for you and the new season, you will go crazy with happiness, it is a roller coaster that you should not miss.
I don't mind Sansa stark as Jean Grey, BUT, it would have been so much better if it was facial model capture in a Game. I find that her trying to force an american accent takes way from her acting. She good, I'm not going to argue that, but her american doesn't sound natural and you can tell she's trying to force it. Also with Sansa being Jean Grey that makes BOTH Stark sisters as Mutants in the X Men Universe. Aria is in the Movie The New Mutants: she portrays the character Wolfsbane.
@@passionsquietrage True, but it's irrelevant because I'm not talking about Americans doing British accents. I'm talking about Sophie Turner. And her "American" is C- at best. The issue comes from the fact that's she's struggling at all. Her lines aren't delivered 100% naturally and that's not something that's easy. Doing an accent is one thing, learning how to use it is another. For example Gary Oldman is excellent at accents. He not only understands the wording but the vocabulary and phonetics. Also on the flip side James Marsters (Spike/William the Bloody) does an impeccable British accent. It has to get to a point where "Okay" isn't good enough.
@@patrickcromwell7554 It was probably her first time doing an "American" accent. Considering how many different American accents there are, it's easy for a British actor to struggle a bit. Like I said, she did her best. Gary Oldman has been acting for several decades whereas Sophie Turner has only been acting for a decade at most, and her inexperience showed a little in this movie but she still gave a pretty good performance. Her lines didn't need to be delivered 100% naturally because then it would have been too perfect.
@@passionsquietrage The point is that she should have had MORE training before they let her act. First time or tenth time, if it actually arrects the quality of their acting, they need more practice. I stick by what I said C- at best. I'm not that guy to excuse poor performances because it's out of an actor's comfort zone. Hugh Jackman is Australian and HIS Canadian is virtually flawless because he does more than just day the words. There are dialogue differences. Certain things said in a certain manner, which unfortunately Sophie does not nail. You can hear her struggle. I'm not shaming her for it; she tried. Absolutely. But whoever her coach was SHOULD have made her learn and practice more.
@@patrickcromwell7554 Maybe there wasn't enough time available for more practice before filming, depending on when she officially signed on and when they started filming. Why did it matter if she nailed certain things or not? To struggle is human, every actor has strengths and weaknesses.
Hello Young Ladies from the Sunshine ☀ State of Florida USA 🇺🇸 I Hope Miss Laura & Magic Magy are Having A Relaxing & Rewarding Weekend As always the like button 🔳 has been Illuminated 😊👍
Magy, Laura; do you girls like watching K-dramas, because I'd like to recommend, three shows that are currently on Netflix. 1) The King's Avatar - which is based from an amine that is based on a light novel. It's about the fascinationg world of E-Sports and one game specifically called "Glory" It has very good "video game" action scenes great music, some fun comedy and shenanigans, and is overall one my personal favorites. 2) Alchemy of Souls - which is also available in a DUB version is about a fictional fantasy-style Korean Country set in the past is what is equivalent to the Joseon period. It has almost everything you could want: Romance, action, drama, comedy, and just a little bit of horror. 3) The Uncanny Counter - Which is set in present day Korea and is about a group of demon hunters. It has action, comedy, horror and really great character acting.
The rest of them all have somewhat... decent continuity on the same timeline. Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix are the exception and basically "alternate reality soft reboots" that belong on their own. Personally not a fan of these two movies, but at least I am glad you girls had fun watching it.
Quicksilver was born with the same super speed as Superman if not a little more... So not as a flash absolutely but as Clark Kent yes and then he has the ability to create infinite copies of himself and create tornadoes by spinning.
There's a lot to like in this one, but there's a lot of "hmmm..." too. lol Oscar Isaac did what he could with the role, but they didn't remotely do Apocalypse justice. I think this movie is a mixed bag. I just enjoy the parts I enjoy and go with the rest.
Hey, Magy and Laura I enjoyed this movie a lot. I thought it was really entertaining. The themes, direction, and acting performances were very superb, particularly Sophie Turner as Jean Grey. And I also thought Apocalypse was a cool villain. But the story was straightforward, and the formulaic nature of the film was pretty lackluster. Anyway, it was a really good film and a fine ninth installment. Thumbs up for me on "X-Men: Apocalypse". X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) 3/4 👍👍
Hi guys can u react to "split" pls..but before that u need to checkout "unbreakable" then "split" and finally "Mr.glass" I guarantee you won't regret. Thnx❤
It's not the greatest X-Men movie but it's certainly not the worst. I love Apocalypse. I proudly own this movie on Blu-ray and I watch it more often than any movie in the MCU
The X-MEN films just LOVE telling the same stories OVER and OVER again. Oh here's Erik as a kid breaking the metal fence again, oh here's his child doing a similar thing with him in his mom's place now, oh here's Striker kidnapping the mansion's kids AGAIN, oh here's Jean gaining Phoenix powers AGAIN, oh here's Logan braking out AGAIN..... The actors typically did a great, hell.... fantastic job portraying the characters of this series, the emotional character arcs are good, but like people nostalgic for old Simpsons episodes who wont watch anything else, the writers can't get out of their endless loop of never doing anything NEW other than a new villain of the week to beat in the background, and usually those villain's are changed DRASTICALLY from how they are portrayed in all other media. What's sad is there's are SOOOOOO many more stories to tell from the XMEN comics about these characters than the 4-5 plot points they repeat ad nauseum.
Those 4-5 plot points weren't actually repeated. They were used to create similar stories because history tends to repeat itself, especially in these universes.
"Those with the greatest power, protect those without."

It has action, comedy, horror and really great character acting.
can't wait to watch dark phoenix with you guys
The hair looks very nice, Laura!
The rest of them all have somewhat... decent continuity on the same timeline. Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix are the exception and basically "alternate reality soft reboots" that belong on their own. Personally not a fan of these two movies, but at least I am glad you girls had fun watching it.
You need to watch Xmen: Dark Phoenix!!!!!
Nightcrawler is mystic son
You should watch after Logan,Xmen Dark Phoenix the last Xmen movie.
Quicksilver was born with the same super speed as Superman if not a little more... So not as a flash absolutely but as Clark Kent yes and then he has the ability to create infinite copies of himself and create tornadoes by spinning.
Quicksilver 💕💕
Magic Magy Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎
There's a lot to like in this one, but there's a lot of "hmmm..." too. lol Oscar Isaac did what he could with the role, but they didn't remotely do Apocalypse justice. I think this movie is a mixed bag. I just enjoy the parts I enjoy and go with the rest.
The MCU needs this Quicksilver. Just saying.
I love this movie
Such a good reaction!! 😊 I really loved it. 😊 It
Wait until you see Logan
Will we watch NEW MUTANTS too? It was a very good movie!

“Where’s my god now” ?
Hey, Magy and Laura I enjoyed this movie a lot. I thought it was really entertaining. The themes, direction, and acting performances were very superb, particularly Sophie Turner as Jean Grey. And I also thought Apocalypse was a cool villain. But the story was straightforward, and the formulaic nature of the film was pretty lackluster. Anyway, it was a really good film and a fine ninth installment. Thumbs up for me on "X-Men: Apocalypse".
X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) 3/4 👍👍

It's not the greatest X-Men movie but it's certainly not the worst. I love Apocalypse. I proudly own this movie on Blu-ray and I watch it more often than any movie in the MCU
Please watch the show legion!!!
Check out transformers
🙂
Please reaction to cars2 and cars3 and plains
Before i even watch your ADORABLE reaction when you compare this to Logan and Days of Future past this film is cow excrement!😂😂🍿🍿
It's really not that bad
React to ultraman :rising
Bravo.
Fun movie. Not the best in the franchise… I’m also extremely peeved that the ending is the ONLY TIME we see the comic accurate costumes.
And that was the only time we needed to see them, so there's no reason to be peeved.
Please have mercy what
