Yeah, it's pretty awesome. Kevin Smith and Depp accommodated each other's schedules and were able to get him in the movie, which was a HUGE deal for Smith. Smith also paid for Depp's make-up assistant in order to join him for the duration of the shoot.

yeah but he couldn't guarantee a real walrus would fight him to the death to take revenge, by torturing the man, he knew the 'walrus' would take revenge for what he did to the actual walrus in his past, at least that's my take on it.

These movies bother me so much, because the idea of being trapped and unable to be understood or found is the most terrifying thing ever.

@@azairencerobinson7600 I've seen parts of them both. Definitely won't watch them fully. Wolf Creek traumatized me after I saw it so I won't ever watch that again.

also the fact that your WHOLE BODY HAS BEEN MODIFIED, like in the small chance there is that you can be found and "saved" you literally cannot go back to how you were before. My dude has got no legs, no tongue and has his arms sewed to his torso. Jesus, that's horrifying to even think about, let alone know that you're trapped inside a walrus suit made from other body parts.

This is hands down one of the most horrifying and saddest movies I've ever watched. I can handle horror movies pretty well but body horror is always what gets me, like having someone else modify your body completely and essentially being trapped inside a new body that have no control over is so disturbing and sad. Pedro Almodóvar's The Skin I Live In is by no means a horror movie yet I had nightmares about it for like a week after I watched it for the first time.
This movie disturbed me too, for 2 days after watching it to be exact. 😂 Can you believe this was meant to be a dark comedy? I found maybe one or two parts a bit funny but no movie has made me this uncomfortable, not even The Human Centipede. 😭

Justin Long is a superb actor. Dodgeball, Accepted, He’s Just Not that Into You, Drag me to Hell, Jeepers Creepers, Waiting… he’s just so good. This movie definitely showed more range for sure.
Justin Long is SUCH an underrated actor. You should see his Sam Rockwell impression and others in the Galaxy Quest documentary "Never Surrender" ! Had me laughing in stitches!......

The ending hurt my heart... he's miserable. Trapped in a life that he was never meant for.
They should’ve put him out of his misery. One of the worst & most heartbreaking endings.

My worst fear. It wasn’t, my fear used to be drowning like normal people. But after this absolute piece of ART I’m genuinely scared of becoming a human walrus. Yay.

If it makes you guys feel better, if this were to ever actually happen to someone, they would've been dead before the operation finished, meaning they wouldn't have to suffer being a human walrus.
And if the “surgery” didn’t kill them, then getting dumped into that gross water would’ve since they definitely would’ve gotten some kind of infection, and this guy most likely hasn’t been giving Wallace any antibiotics. He’s literally made of rotten bloody skin and now you’re submerging them in nasty water with god knows what kind of bacteria. There’s a reason why people say not to go swimming after getting a tattoo or stitches.
The horror genre has gone so far passed the line that it should NEVER OF CROSSED that you end up with sick and twisted movies like this and the Human Centipede films.
What I will never understand is who actually reads these scripts and thinks it would be a good idea to make this demented stuff into a motion picture?
You know not all horror is the same right if you can’t stomach it or just don’t like this type of weird dark comedy then just don’t watch it you can’t say what’s a like in horror grow up
Sick or twisted Plots in Horror Movies are about as old as the Artform Itself . The Fly comes to mind and this Movie ( Original produced by Kurt Neumann , not the 1986 David Cronenberg Production ) became a Cult Classic . Body Horror has been around a long time.
Just imagine ending up like a walrus against your own will for the rest of your life.

I saw this movie when it came out, I wonder if they could have saved him or just put him out of his misery.
They brought him to an exotic animal sanctuary, which I don’t know why because he lost his humanity and he just wants to die
@@catfighter5879 Because they're selfish. They wanted to keep him alive because they wanted him around still. He just wanted to die, but they won't let him.
It reflects his past actions - he used to profit off of the misery and pain of other people, now he is an 'attraction' for gawkers.
And it's a dark comedy, it doesn't care about making sense or choosing wisely.
They’re making a sequel in like 2024 where I think they try to turn him back

Not going to lie, the effects for that guy chopping off his leg were complete shit. So shit, I thought it was a skit in the movie, but later realized that it actually happened in the movie. This 100% caught me off guard when I saw the transformed Wallace. The effects for that walrus costume are incredible

this movie was talked about on smiths podcast including the ending scene they were high laughing about it and then he wrote it and liked the script as did his wife and here we are. great fucking actors the late great micheal parks as the old man. and johnny depp was in makeup getting his nose done and was like "it looks like a dick cant i paint a vein on it to make it more like a dick?" so they did that shit cause its funny.
