My husband and I are eating exactly the same as you! 90% plant based/vegan, and vegetarian. Totally doable we’ve been eating like this for 10 years and never looked back. We started it because my husband was sick and overweight. After six months, he was off all his medications (chronic) and lost 50 lbs. one of the best choices we ever made. Great lifestyle…we also work out pretty much 4-5 times a week. I’m 68 years old😅
I remember a video from a couple of years ago where you explained that you weren’t vegan but plantbased and that just helped me SO much. I felt liberated! 🙌🏼 Thanks for your honesty Zanna, you’re truly an inspiration 💚
I am vegan, but I like your approach, I feel this would be much more sustainable and approachable for a lot of people, rather than trying to push an "all or nothing approach" that not many people respond well to. And as someone with IBS and a lot of digestive issues, I understand very well the challenges with this diet, and believe people should not be judged for wanting and needing to feel good physically, and not just ethically. I totally get the ethical standpoint, but I just think people would react better if they were encouraged to experiment and include more plant-based options in their diets rather than be pushed to change everything. I honestly believe someone like you will have a lot more positive influence on people's diets and lifestyles than a pushy vegan.
Thanks for sharing your journey Zanna. I am vegan and will stay vegan so my lifestyle is in line with my values. Mentally this feels right because there is no dissonance. Of course I also love the health benefits and the delicious foodxxx
Thankyou for this insightful video Zanna! I have the same approach on my diet, I tried vegan for a year but I felt like I was not only restricting myself but also my family. My grandma would be so proud if she found veggie snack options for when I came to visit, was I going to say that I still could not eat those because they contained milkpowder? Absolutely not. So now, at home my husband and I eat mostly plantbased and when going out for dinner, visit family or friends, we are vegetarian. I feel so much more at ease because of that!
I'm someone who's struggled with dieting since I was 12 years old. I would restrict food, make myself go vegan or keto without feelinggood in my body which inevitably would lead to an ED. I'm now 23 and trying my hardest to overcome that disorder by allowing myself a diet that works for me without feeling guilty. This video helped me a lot about realizing that eating what I'm craving is okay and that I dont have to fit into a specific drawer or give my diet a label and rather let myself flourish and nourish my body with what it needs. Thanks for not focusing on what your body looked like but rather on how you felt!! More videos like this please (loving the vlogs too tho!!)
Thank you for sharing this, it’s really refreshing to see someone who has such a relaxed approach to food and its great that you’ve managed to find a diet that works for you!
Thanks for sharing! You usually keep me company while I am cooking so love a sit down chatty video so I can just listen along! Future video idea maybe a top 5 fave travel experiences so far? Top 5 learning experiences in your business? Maybe an overview of your major life learnings/lessons in your love life journey? Always enjoy all your videos anyway :) I think you already know I am vegan myself and have been for over 6 years now quite happily and have sucha free, fun and flexible approach so I don't feel limited in anyway...I also don't broadcast about to people that I am vegan and don't base my identity around it but it is a huge passion of mine that I ENJOYYY and nourishes me to thrive so I guess it just fits me well! Zero judgement for how anybody else is living their lives whatsoever as what anyone else puts into their body doesn't actually affect me in the slights - you do you boo is my attitude ! :) I'm just delighted that you've finally found an approach to food that feels sustainable for you, and you're happy and healthy - that's all that matters at the end of the day and what everyone should strive for! Lotsa love xxx
Such a great video to wake up to! Thank you for sharing your journey, especially the mistakes! I've made a lot of similar ones but am now at the same position as you and feel so much happier 💗
loved that video! It's so refreshing hearing/seeing people being honest and "chill" about the way they eat, and that they too struggle with labels and being put into boxes. I think it is so important to just listen to your body and go with what makes you feel the best rather than with what you believe HAS TO make you feel better, so you do it just because of that. For future ideas: Maybe you could film a video about how you go about planning trips? I would love to get insights into your (very) detailed planning process ;)
Agreed with everything you’ve said in this video. I feel like I’ve tried everything from low carb, vegetarian, vegan and eventually found having no label made me so much happier. Please could you show what you eat in a day for some plant based inspo? All my meals centre around animal protein and I’d love some meal inspo x
I loved listening to you this morning on your journey throughout your teenage years to now on your food diet. I found it very interesting & inspiring, & how you've also found a balance now.I also love your Beautiful heart to ♥️ Have a fabbbulos weekend 🙏🥰
Loved this video Zanna. Think it’s such an important message that carbohydrates are important and having a healthy balance is key to nourish your body. Us women need carbs!!
We literally have the same “diet” without knowing it! I literally feel like in this current state of the world, that is a pretty realistic way to eat. I WISH so much that restaurants all have a plethora of vegan options wherever you are in the world but currently that’s unfortunately not where we’re at. So just being as vegan as possible is the best we can do for the planet, the animals & our health. ♥️♥️
I love this! I think it's a great way to view food and peoples choices. As I've become older I have really noticed all the misinformation around food and since going veggie people have commented on my diet as 'going through a detox'?! Something I have never said and I find it very odd !
Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I think that it sooo important not to judge ourselves and others when it comes. Life is ever changing and the key thing is to eat foods that nourish our bodies and minds in a sustainable way.
Love this video! It’s all about finding a balance and something which works for you. I’m a lifelong vegetarian but kind of try to do the same as you, eating plant based at home and then veggie out and about. It makes life so much easier socially! Every restaurant is going to have a veggie option and not always a vegan so it can really make you feel like an inconvenience if you’re too strict! Much love 💕
This is a great video, my husband and I did the exactly same thing with our vegan diet. Did it for a year and a half but for various reasons it wasn’t sustainable and we’re now 95% plant based but occasionally vegetarian like you xx
Zanna!!! your diet is literally my diet! I was vegan too but felt like I was missing out on all the Christmas treats so I became a little more lenient like you did :) Best choice I've made! x
I also went vegetarian 5 years ago, and it was also a slow process because I knew if I tried cutting out meat straight away it wouldn’t work for me. (Although I have to say I’m pescatarian but only eat fish on occasion rather than a regular basis)
Really liked this video! I think it’s okay to change and that’s a how life is. The best is to do what works for you and what can work on the long run. ✨✨
you are such a good role model Zanna and truly an inspiring soul❤️ It is so refreshing to accompany you on your journey and see you shining from the inside out✨ I am vegan myself but have to say that with the years I get more relaxed with it and also eat honey or fishsauce when traveling☺️
Thank you for sharing! this is how i describe my diet too, mainly plant based but veggie is an easier label - it still confuses me when people see me eat something and they're like 'that's not vegan!' my reply is always 'neither am I!' 😂 would love a video similar to this but how your fitness journey has evolved over the years!
Omg yesss those teenage years.... sausage rolls and cookies for lunch and total chills! It was post uni I fell hard and only climbing back out now from the disordered mess I got into in mid 20s 😳 Amazing messages on this video 💕
I decided when I was very young that I didn't want to eat animals. This was the1970s so it was quite difficult for my mum to feed me, especially as I wasn't a huge fan of veg either😂😂 I was a junk food vegetarian until i had kids of my own and realised I needed to up my game! I decided about 6 years ago I wanted to restrict animal products such as dairy and eggs too but, like you, I will occasionally eat them if out and there is no "vegan" option. This is working well for me 😊
You weren't born when I grew up in the 70/80's but my Mum was a health food devotee following my Dad's death from cancer. It was different than the other kid's in that it was whole food purchased at the farmer's market (Toronto) while my friends got fluffy white bread and Kraft dinner macaroni we had ratatouille and sourdough. Your Mum had the good sense to install the basics and you experimented until you found your own and I did the same. I have one plant based kid and one who is nutrition based we call it:) How about a chat about how you plan your travel and your dreams for the future? Cheers:)
I feel that when more Vegan options are available almost everywhere the feeling of limitations will go away and most people who have and experience like yours would be fully vegan. I think we will see these transition as a society if more and more people choose the vegan croissant when they see it. In any case it is better to be plant focus for life than a perfect vegan for 1 month
thank you for this video, it is really helping to understand that finding a good diet is a long journey. But please, vegan are still omnivores. They can eat, as you say, legumes, grains, nuts and seeds. There are all different families of food and just a few number of animals can eat nuts and seeds. Being omnivore doesn't mean eating plants and animals, it means eating a lot of different families of food. A lot of herbivorous animals can only eat grass and maybe a little of other things. So humans (which were never design to eat animals because we have a very long digestive system and flat teeth) are all omnivores, no matter their diet :)

I'm the same, vegan at home, vegetarian outside, it's the best balance to stay sain 🙂

Yesss! Love this video. Still trying to find my balance. I have a mostly plant based diet but still quite worried about my protein intake x
You’ve got this! Good luck 🤞🏼
How did Ant go from eating all meats to plant-based? I know he heavily ate animal products as well
He just followed me! He did it a little more slowly though ♥️
Loved this, nieto hear your journey ❤️ and great advice, thank you ❤️ have a great weekend Zanna 🌸
You’re so welcome love 💗
