      100 FR is the most difficult race at these levels. See Mac Evoy swimming 47.04 during trials but never came close to it again. The pressure is immense for the record holder and being fast is not enough. Only guys with a strong mental game like Popov could achieve similar results.

    I look at the comments and dispair of genuine honesty, Chalmers is in the twilight of his career and is still so good, McEvoy is also in his twilight, yet if these two can come togheter for the 100 x3 in 2024 it will be interesting.

      A lot of potential reasons. It's really difficult for an athlete to replicate let alone exceed their past peak performance.
      David may have not tapered properly coming into the championships. He may have had unforeseen circumstances and that may have impacted his prep. He also fell off the top 3 in the 200m earlier in the championships in the last 50m which may have had a potential impact on his mental coming up to the 100m. There's a plethora of reasons.
      Don't forget he is also only 18 years old and doesn't have as much competition experience as someone like Kyle Chalmers who is likely more composed during his races. Although being a world record holder, someone as young as him still has work to do as an athlete.

    Popovici ha perso 100 e 200 stile libero per la sua boria, che gli serva di lezione. Chalmers aveva già dimostrato classe ed esperienza nella staffetta 4 X 100 stile

    • @yulyul6376
      @yulyul6376 ปีที่แล้ว

      Popovici ha perso 100 e 200 perchè non aveva la stessa condizione dell'anno passato. Magari l'anno prossimo ne avrà di più. Comunque su Chalmers hai ragione da vendere. Non è solo forte, ma anche molto bravo a distribuire le forze e rinvenire molto velocemente nella seconda vasca. A Tokio stava rimontando Dressel. Chalmers è sia forte che esperto. Non crocifiggiamo Popovici che è già fin troppo bravo per la sua età.

      @@yulyul6376 popovici ha pagato dazio per la superbia, se osserviamo il suo modo di fare e nelle interviste si nota facilmente, non è questione di crocifiggere ma di osservare la realtà, ha dimostrato di non essere un agonista, i veri agonisti danno il meglio proprio nei momenti di forma non ottimale, chalmers lo è come lo era Magnini

    • @yulyul6376
      @yulyul6376 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paolobuonarroti ma non guardare le interviste. Guarda come nuotano in vasca. Io detestavo Boggiato ai microfoni, ma lo adoravo in acqua. Il mio ragionamento però è un altro. Se Popovici avesse avuto grandi tempi nelle braccia, e per un eccesso di confidenza si fosse fatto rimontare, ti darei ragione. Ma Popovici quest'anno non è neanche lontano parente del 2022. È troppo indietro. Ancora una volta debbo darti ragione sull'altra parte del ragionamento. Magnini è un esempio lampante di atleta professionale e concentrato. Lui, e lo hai spiegato benissimo, centrava risultati prestigiosi anche in condizioni non ottimali. Ma lo faceva se doveva limare qualcosa. Popovici non era in condizione. Cosa poteva limare? Gli mancano 25 mt nei 100. Lui era fermo e gli altri gli andavano via nel momento più duro della gara.
