Archer: The Final Season (14) Review: Getting Too Old For This?

The crew of the Agency have been doing this for 14 seasons. That's a lot of seasons. While an ending is certainly warranted, we must ask ourselves if this is the one we wanted?

Zara should have debuted in Season 11 as someone Mallory hired while Sterling was in his coma. This would have given her character more time to build relationships with everyone else on the team instead of trying to force one and making her interactions with everyone else but Archer a B (Zara & Krieger) or C plot (Zara & Ray). She could also have been the number one spy in Archer's absence which makes a lot more sense than Cyril "Suppressing Fire" Figgis.
Or just never debuted. She is completely unnecessary. Plus the voice actor just seems completely out of place. Awful character and the entire season was just them destroying Archer as a character.
I could actually see this work out better
Zara is the worst character 🤡💀 in the show.

Zara sucks the pandering sucks i couldnt get through season 14 at all, the writing was awful the infallible girl bossery was awful. Immasculating archer constantly was awful. They showed a man build himself back up from a near death... to lose hos mother from his life... and then become an incompetent fuxking goof who is constantly wrong and is just a joke. Great writing im sure the long term audiance will love this.
i agree they made archer the beta male, just like they did with james bond., seems like its the new thing , make men look stupid . no story line, and this guy talking is such a beta boring male
Agreed, show jumped the shark a while ago. Sad to see it go, not been funny in a while, now ruined totally.

I gave up on season 13.
Season 11-12 was already painful to watch.
Sad to see it go but it has not been funny in a long time either. I watched it more out of loyalty. First 3-4 seasons were brilliant. I don't know if they lost their best writers, PC culture forced them to tone it down, etc, but it lost all that made it so damn funny and irreverent around season 5 and on.
I loved archer for years. It was my go to show when i wanted a laugh. I remember watching it with my friends in highschool to the tune of a room full of laughter.
Now its just, idk man. Its like an old family member you see after years only to find that they have dementia now and who you knew before no longer exists. On top of that theyre constantly followed around by an overbearing, underminding wretch of a nurse that ruins every chance you get to catch up.

Surprisingly, i enjoyed this season more than previous ones. It wasn't great, but when it was just the gang, i found myself having fun, and that's what matters really.
They 100% didn't know they were getting cancelled, I don't believe for a second they would end it like that on purpose considering character growth (or lack of) has been a consistent part of the show.
I'm genuinely so sad about this, at part of me feels empty. It feels like I'm letting go of an old friend

They shouldve ended it when he woke up from that coma or when Jessica passed away a few years ago.
The fake insufferable Lana/Archer character they add this season was beyond awful and not needed.
What a shitty way to end a show that used to be funny.
Its send off was certainly interesting. It was themed as letting go by not letting go. Our perspective of watching the characters is over, but that doesn’t mean that the characters lives are over, and they’re still going on to live in this universe without us. I like it personally.
This show really got bad after archer woke up from his coma. they turned this show into something that isn’t archer.
FXX made the right choice to cancel the series. Memorable characters from past seasons are no longer around and the formula was starting to become stale and was clearly being rehashed. Also, as many pointed out, the woke sewage was starting to seep into the system and I am sure the producers quickly realized that the masses don’t like it. In the end, it was time to end it before it turned the way of The Simpsons (which sorely needs to end).

Honestly this show could go on for decades,,, that said,, THE ADVENTURES OF ARCHER & PAM can fulfill our wants and needs for sure!!! I have no discredits to any bit of the writing and direction. They SMOKED IT!

Season 7 was the last decent season of the show. Arhcer character growth comes to halt after this.
1999 Archer was the last of what I found to be watchable. also when they stopped releasing on DVD that just made it difficult for me to watch it al all I'm very rural and will not spend a tone of money on streaming to not actually own anything so as much as I wanted to see it I did not. At least I have all seasons from 1 to Danger Island to watch when ever I feel like it.
Im only glad it ended on nudity let everyone else care that he went the same way as Mallory leaving isiss n if course him being the criminal still damn him hadn't seen him pixel since well when he got out of the coma really mostly been other people great thanks slso stunned his mom didn't make cameo or was inba different voice yeah jessica walters uh huh (bell toll) hmm but glad too this show made room for dedicateds yeah fine chapter closed it's been fun 2009 he he cannot believe he slept wit barry inna way ha ha ooh

Was disappointed with this “final” season so much not even covered! Where’s Aj? Would Archer and Lana get back together? Why bring in Zara 🫤 I agree it doesn’t feel like a last season it seems like a mediocre season definitely not a season ender 😢
Did you watch into the cold? Aj shows up towards the end, archer and Lana discuss their respective futures.
