The reality is that, last year, with Gallagher and Anderson playing like garbage, Montreal only had 2 players who needed watched at all time, and Slaj only started becomign the 3rd one by the end of the season. Caufield and Suzuki were watched 24/7 because they were the main threats. With the addition of Laine, Dach being back, and other talented recruits coming in, players like Caufield will have more room to breathe since other players won't be able to be ignored. Also, if you look at the contracts being awarded since last year, a 50 points player receiving 6 million+ is becoming the norm. Primeau is just another imbecile who doesn't take the time to think thoroughly, and who thinks he's far smarter than he actually is.
No way Suzuki is over paid his numbers have gone up every year and defends well against other teams top players. I can see the worries about caufield becoming the next Drouing but his smile is too big to let that happen. He just loves the game and his teamates too much to get down and underperfom long term. Also he rounded his game out last year so i dont think it should be considered a under performance.
No way. They're gonna have their best seasons yet with Slaf, some people see trouble where there isn't any and no trouble where was some (the winger issue is kinda fixed, if Laine returns to form).
Hopefully this guy never thinks about starting a career in investment....doesnt grasp the core concept. What seems like a steep price paid now may end up a bargain in a few years...thats why you lock your asset with a time frame in mind to maximize profit. They make the gamble that both could be close to 1pt per game players in 2 years...and they have the expertise to make that assessment much better than we do. If that turns out to be true, in those years they will ride maybe the top 15 contracts in the whole league with the salary cap increase especially.
Caufield is paid twice his worth! I said it from the start, 1 shoulders never fully recovers after surgery, 2 he's a tiny person who could be easily taken out in the playoffs. Please trade him while he still has a pretty face. Suzuki is to neutral of a guy to wear the "C"... show us fire in the belly! Have a Snickers' bar!
Cole Caufeild the 40 goal sniper who has never scored 30 lol. Only way he gets 40 is if they play 40 OT games and he scores every time during the 3 V 3.
suzuki won't be overpaid because he's already a complete 70+ pts guy. Caufield might be, considering his full value is pretty much only about scoring points, but yeah the salary cap will go up. I am confident caufield will be better in the futur and both contracts will become great.
I dont mind the point totals, what would interest me would be the goal count. If they both get 30+ goal seasone, then its money well spent

This is so true especially on the Power play.
Oli primeau is everything but a hockey guy

Olivier Primeau's opinion about hockey is as valid as DJ Khaled's opinion about Basketball. Next.
Olivier Primeau? Really? That;s all I needed to hear. Pass.

Both are like 5'1" and way overpaid.

slaf and laine overpaid as well bum franchise, these guys actually think they're making the playoffs this year 😂😂😂
Well thats good because slaf still in his last year of ELC contract....
Depends if they keep progressing. If they stay around 60-70 points and never make the playoffs then they are 100% over paid
Nah if they stay at 60-70 with all the contract increasing it will be fair value at worst.
