I am Amanda from Hong Kong. I make easy and practical cantonese learning videos for complete beginners to intermediate level.
My full time job is a flight attendant. I enjoy studying foreign languages. My job allows me to visit many places and meet many people. So that I have more chances to practice what I have learned.
Due to the covid, I haven't fly regularly for over a year. I find TH-cam is extremely helpful for maintaining my language proficiency. One day, out of curiosity, I looked for cantonese learning channels. I was so surprised that there are so little and most of the good one are even from overseas. That's why I started "5 minute cantonese" on 2020.

    Thanks for another great lesson!
Wondering why your vids are now longer than 5 minutes, which is the name of your channel.
5 minutes is a great choice as it's just right for us to learn and absorb such a difficult and different language.
One more thing, after you've said the complete sentence, could you pause and allow us to copy you, instead of jumping straight into the next point, once slowly and then at normal speed, like they do in the professional courses like Berlitz.
    Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. I am trying my best to control my lesson from 5 to 8 minutes. But it's hard to include all the contents under the topic in one lesson. I suggest you can pause the video if you want to repeat what I say. But I will try my best to speak slower. 😊

Hi Amanda, Great lesson! I was wondering, does it sound right in Cantonese if I say "而家我同佢講緊野"... if I want to express that I am having a talk with him/her now? AND ALSO "我想同佢講野" if I want to express that I want to have TALK with him/her?

In this case, it's better to use the word "chat" king1 傾

Thank you Amanda for another great video. Just curious to know why you don't record shorts as these type of videos are easy to watch and easy to pick up words in a short time
