indeed, works wonderfully, the only other transcripted piece that also sounds really nice is Pas de Deux from The Nutcracker by Pletnev. It feels like the piano in these pieces isnt struggling and trying to show 3-4 different voices and instruments at once.

I know. About on par with the hardest pieces from Chopin/Listz. And by hard, I mean harder than Fantasie Impromptu and the Revolutionary Etude. I'm thinking Winter Wind, the Torrent Etude, etc.

for a piece that (i think) isn’t originally for piano, it translates really well, props to the pianist
