    This one definitely hit close to home considering I used to be a security guard and I also work the graveyard shift. You'd be surprised how creepy things really are when you're just walking around checking the place out making sure nothing's wrong. But one thing about the night it has a tendency to play tricks on your mind you hear things that you think are there but they're actually not and it will f*** with your mind if you're not careful. Needless to say I'm no longer in security I did security for about 2 years and I got tired of looking at the same thing over and over again and being on graveyard cuz that's all they had available so I said to hell with it and I quit.

    I was about 16 years old when #1 took place. I still have a few stories about that place, stuff that didn't seem so bad at the time, but looking back at it and what happened after I left gives me the chills. Half the other guys there didn't even use their real names, and I'm pretty sure that a few of the former squatters actually got jobs working there. Unfortunately, the stable has gone downhill a lot since my boss was fired, and quite a few of the horses there were rescued by other farms. Thankfully, none of them died from neglect, though a few were underfed.

    • @aeonianargos4284
      @aeonianargos4284 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Illegal horse racing. They were gambling on the horses, but they weren't necessarily nice to the horses. They'd sometimes attach electric prods to the horses' reigns in order to make them go faster. I was never around during any of this. They always sent me home at noon.

    Having worked security in my past, I really felt sorry for the guys in these stories. Midnight shifts in many places is creepy as all get out and more than once I have been creeped out by sites I had to patrol.Nothing was worse than a bank in a tough neighborhood. That was the only time I was really scared by the possibility of an armed robbery. I was, however, armed myself and the shady character left the bank.

    Scariest job? For me, anything that involves sticking on SCUBA gear or deep sea diving, and working underneath the hulls of hulks or being at the very bottom of the sea bed working on rigs and what not!
    Basically, I find that kind of thing ultra scary because of the extreme claustrophobia (even just in shallow water with SCUBA gear on, I couldn't cope with even that)!
    I once paid to do a basic SCUBA course whilst on holiday in Greece with my friends. We all got ready and as soon as we jumped in and began to get used to the breathing, I just found it impossible to relax. All because of the weight of the tank and the pressure of the water on me, pulling me down. I just couldn't cope with it. Of course, it was all very normal and my friends had no trouble at all. I'd simply discovered that I had had a rather extreme panic attack reaction to the mask over my face and the feeling of weight pulling me down. Ultra claustrophobic!
    I ended up snorkling above my friends who appeared really far below me (they couldn't have been that deep really)! My girlfriend, from the sea bed, took a photo of me with my little pot belly hanging down! She laughed at me! She found my little belly cute BTW! LoL! I'm not fat or huge at all, I just had a little belly at that time (2001)! LoL! Anyway! I'll stop there before I skew off on some random tangent! =oD

    • @JamesSmith-lt5zz
      @JamesSmith-lt5zz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Redacted I'll even start with one. I'm retired USMC infantry. it was my turn to take watch. on the radio it came over that the perimeter alarms had gone off by the motor pool and to check it out. So me and the other guard get in a Humvee and go check it out. when we got over there. This thing didn't notice us at first it was intent on what it was doing. There was a dogman going through the dumpster. we just sat there in total shock. after about 10 seconds it noticed us and showed it's teeth took one leap was out of the dumpster and took off on two legs and with in seconfs was out of sight. we didn't know what the fuck just happened. we both agreed to not say anything that no one would believe it and it would ruin our careers. so we radioed back false alarm nothing's there and fence is intact. That a deer probably touched the fence. Around military installations when you touch the fence they kbow

    I currently work Security myself and have so for 13 years now. I have done club security where I had run ins with Drug Dealers. I worked at a Warehouse and had run ins with Crazy Truck Drivers, I worked in a Haunted and I mean Haunted Factory for 3 years and currently work on Construction sites that have netted me two encounters with Sasquatch Creatures. I swear all I need now is a Hippie best friend, Two Preppy Best Friends, A nerdy science chick and a Great Dane and It would be the Scooby Doo Gang. On a side note even though many sites frown on guards having weapons. I always keep my SCCY 9MM with Hornady Critical Duty rounds in the magaziines. If and when weird shit shows up. I feel more secure in the fact I can at least defend myself.

    I work as a security guard on a warehouse "campus" at night. I have heard some strange things, seen things moving, motion lights going on, foot steps, movement from the corner of my eye, etc. Some of our guards won't even go in one of our buildings at night. Thats the foot steps and motion lights building. I have no problem with ghosts. What scares me is the idea of still going to work after you die.

      Clayton Blackwell what kind of things did you see?

    • @bu55c
      @bu55c 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Well... One time I was on night watch in one of the OLD mansions here in the city (from about 1890) and while I didn't "SEE" anything I could hear a turn of the century (1900) party going on from music to multiple voices in conversation and laughter. More confusing then actually frightening. I chalked it up to what's called a residual haunt. The other one was while I was watching a construction site on the river down by the rifle club. First was the smell, like wet dog and rotten fish. I'm thinking sasquatch as I have had encounters with them before. Well being armed only with a 9mm pistol (that will only piss a squatch off) I decided to turn on all the flood lights. Sure enough on the other side of the river standing there at about 8' tall was a sasquatch. It shaded it's eyes, kind of half growled at me and walked off the other way crashing through the trees. Needless to say that the "details" were NOT written on the report. Just put it down as a "large animal with reddish brown fur" still got a lot of flack for that one.

    • @elix901
      @elix901 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That last one reminds me of one of the sites we use to patrol. I saw this thing not a person on the roof every night. It was huge dark and kind of distorted like it really wasn't there. It's eyes glowed when I'd shine my lights on it. Me and another guard had tried to clear that building several times it's what we got paid for. After awhile we just gave up. This thing was quick it moved faster than the shadows. Other guard claimed it tried to lure them in a few times. Never did that to me but, it would sit on the roof watching. We simply reported it as a homeless person.

    Almost 30 years ago, my husband worked as a night security guard at the chili canning plant in McNeal, Arizona. The plant was closed at night, and there was only one guard on any given night shift. He often told me about incidents that occurred while he was walking rounds - noises, voices, doors that had been locked during his previous round suddenly being unlocked. One morning, one of his coworkers was found huddled on top of the guard shack, incoherent and shocky. Something had apparently scared him out of his mind. If that man ever recovered enough to say what it was, we never knew. My husband and the other coworkers were reassigned to other work sites.

    I was a security guard at a shopping center years ago. I'd have to walk around the outside to make sure no one was doing seedy shit. I found so much stuff in drains and bushes. Machetes, hatchets, needles, ropes. All sorts of nasties. Turns out there was a planned gang fight gonna go down

    My momma used to be an undercover security guard in a high end department store in Texas when she first moved down there(somewhere in the mid to late 80’s), the stories she’s told me are interesting. You can’t get me to be one after the crap she had to deal with... 😅

    1. lumberjack

    I've worked in the Security Industry for over 34 years now, almost all of that time was nights (at least 98% of the shifts over the years) and most times it was by choice. I have seen and heard everything imagineable. Heard there were 'ghosts' seen by other guards, and even the rover (a Lt.) refused to get out of the patrol vehicle and come in after he and his Wife saw it, I never saw anything at that post, however I bought some toys that make noise while rolling and put them along the hallway where the 'ghosts' were seen and baited them, called them, teased and taunted them and notta, nothing! But there were a few nights at that post that I knew I wasn't alone but it didn't feel like a small child like other guards had seen, instead I felt like it was an adult and actually physically someone there. But i checked all the doors, hallways and closets and no one. There were a few long nights at that building that I counted the minutes until I got off...but for the most part I didn't have any issues. I have also worked at another closed down hospital that was historically haunted, some Security Guard several years before me even wrote a story about the hauntings and it was printed in FATE magazine, although I never saw anything nor when I took my EMF meter with me to work along with a video camera, still notta. My Dad always asked me what I would do if I ever found a ghost when I was hunting for one and I saw I don't know...I'll have to come across that situation to know for sure. So here I am, after 34 years of working nights in Security,...still looking.
