If anything, I kinda hope this game will be a big success so that they decide to re-release the 2nd game too, and then I hope that THAT game will be successful enough to _finally_ inspire the creation of an Imperishable Night-based sequel. (One of the major Touhou-related daydreams I've had over the years has been that the Koumajou series would've kept releasing titles... Can you imagine how amazing the later games would've been? We could've seen a Castlevania-inspired iteration of the Palace of Earthly Spirits. The UFO title could've had us fight our way through a haunted Buddhist temple, and the Extra stage could've lead us down the Spirit Mausoleum to make battle with the undead Taoist crew -- Miko is the 2nd best Dracula stand-in behind Remilia. And don't get me started on how amazing DDC's Koumajou counterpart title might've been: We had Wagasagihime, the siren; Sekibanki, a horseless headless horsewoman; Kagerou, an actual werewolf; the Tsukumogami crew, and also Seija, the devil herself... oh yeah, and Shinmyoumaru, too, I guess... But, above all else, DDC had an actual upside-down castle in the sky. It really could've been Symphony of The Night all over again.)
Starring: Satou Rina as Hakurei Reimu, Shitani Ryouko as Kirisame Marisa, Satou Satomi as Hong Meiling, Tomatsu Haruka as Alice Margatroid, Rikimaru Noriko as Patchouli Knowledge, Sawashiro Miyuki as Izayoi Sakuya and, of course, Kitamura Eri as the fearsome mistress of the Scarlet Devil Castle, Remilia Scarlet. Also introducing Yuuki Aoi as Cirno and Okasaki Miho as Ibuki Suika. It's amazing to see the voice actresses from Koumajou Densetsu 2 come back to provide these characters with their voices again. ^^

Amazing that they're willing to reprise their roles in a little indie title as well -- many of them are not exactly small names in the VA industry. A little bit amazing how little their voices have changed over the course of these 12-13 years, too.
The game was releasing in CDs in convention many years ago and it had English and French translation in it. So be ready to have fun when it will be released on steam and Switch :D
Out of curiosity, may I ask what's the difference? Btw this is a remaster of an old game, there's probably some gameplay videos out there, maybe you can check them to make sure.

@@kevin850406 Classicvanias are like the NES games. You have fully separated stages that have a definitive beginning and end, and one linear path to go through them. This is not necessarily left-to-right only, but the path never crosses itself and you never end up back at earlier parts again. Metroidvanias are, well, like the Metroid games. There's one large castle built like a giant maze, with lots of little side-passages and all sorts of shinies to collect. More often than not you'll find spots that you can't access quite yet, then have to backtrack later on in order to progress there.
