    Your video editor was earning their paycheck on this one!

    What I enjoy most about it is it’s a slightly chibi version of the real thing as compared to the extremely proportionate and scale MiniatureScenery ship which is even bigger than this but has no superstructure

    Ship of the line with 24 cannon? More like a frigate. Nice looking except for the square masts. As for rigging - do just the standing rigging! to do all the rigging would make using it for gaming almost impossible.

    I am currently working on this build. Im so glad that someone has done a review of this ship. It is very cool for your gaming but it is fragile as far as the mast and rigging goes.

    This would make a great centrepiece for many a D&D campaign

    I wonder if wire and string to make the rigging would suffice? Wire to make it sturdy for the vertical lines and string for the horizontal lines to make a stiff structure that can be removed easily via weak magnets.

      String is what is used for similarily sized Firelock Games ships. So I see no reason it would be an issue.

    Conversion idea: anachronistic steam frigate. The real era this resembles the most is the early 1700’s. 150 years later you had steam frigates.

    I'm thinking it would be a fine Bon Homme Richard! John Paul Jones, and all that good stuff. I think I will make my own masts, however, with larger fighting tops for my marksmen.

    Great review, and thank you! Looks as if the design might suit the late 17th or early 18th century. I am wondering, however, if rigging the ship might be a bit problematic if one intends to remove the various decks for internal play?

    • @ostrowulf
      @ostrowulf 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like (deppending on how you rig it) likely only the full lower deck would be avalable if fully rigged. That said, if you got some dead eyes for the rigging, with a way to diconnect there, you likely would be golden.

    Considering Blood & Plunder is a thing, I would say playing engagements with it is not that crazy.

      @@holysmoke8439 Can do, but honestly, B&P shows that playing with big ships can be reasonably simple, and quite fun.

    a two decker with only 24 guns? a small east india man maybe ;p ships of the line started at 40 guns in the 17th century, and later only ships with more than 62 guns were considered ships of the line! but nice game piece regardless

    I think the square masts are a turn off. And the built itself looks a bit blocky. I think it shows the limits of mdf scale models.

    This is NOT a ship of the line, as those had 3 gun decks. Nice model though.
