Is that the Silver Pilot two units left of that N&H loco?? I'm guessing not, but don't know... Is Amtrak still using the Nathan 3 chime air horn as their horn of choice?
Believe it or not, it actually is. It was actually hauled in from the Illinois Railroad Museum for the event; it returned to its owners afterward. It wasn’t the only one to “visit”, as other locomotives were brought in from other railroads and museums. As for the second question, Amtrak is using a Nathan horn as their horn of choice, but it’s actually a 5 chime horn (the K5LA to be specific; the M-series appears to be discontinued).
Here we have the wild E and F units, at their meeting ground. They are best not be disturbed at this time, as they will become very aggressive towards any outside disturbances.
So Alcos can’t resist smoking even when they just need to blow the horn?
Yep, gas guzzlers.
Nope, not even that

It was common with those, but thankfully not so much with the SD’s and AC’s.
