It hit different when he said "deprived of a bike" like you don't know that feeling until you fall in love with it and have it taken away. I've been riding on and off since I was 4 and haven't been able to get a bike the past few years. The drive and motivation I have now at 19 to get another bike is crazy there's literally nothing I want more.

I'm 53. Raced motocross from 1978 to 2004. I'm old school, and I forget what caught my attention when I ran across a Buttery video on TH-cam. Whatever it was, I clicked on it and never figured I'd watch it long....but....I found myself watching it to the end. Then I watched a couple more. Then I was like "these are some young dudes that are actually cool". I found myself laughing a lot and enjoying it. The youngsters in the video are a blast to watch. I accidentally saw a video and accidentally became a fan. Gotta love it. Keep up the good work, boys!!👊👊

Yeah I was confused too! He said also he played sports all through high school, and 30 seconds later dropped out at 15 and lived on a ranch yet parents bought him a bike at 16. Dont think he is lying just not a great story teller.

Im 29 and ive rode dirt bikes on and off in my time havent been riding for years now but much like Connor i would say i was a late bloomer but always loved dirtbikes non stop since i was 4. Im not a racer i was more into the freestyle as i remember its come up in 98 and the scene being big instantly. I dig so much the alternative world of film and freeriding just steady climbing. Been wanting in on the scene for a little while now and its time so ill be getting a dirt bike first come spring and definitely a 2 stroke for the old school! I love yall and what you and all your buddies put out for us ❤
8:20 i believe it’s because no 2 riders ride the same...it’s like everybody’s personality translates to their own riding style so it’s just a sport where you never know what’s gonna happen. Look at supercross...best dudes in the world n they all look totally unique riding almost the same speed. Fell send forever baby!!!

I really appreciate it and any advice for a new to the game TH-camr is greatly appreciated. I have a offroad shop in San Diego and am starting a behind the scenes aspect in conjunction with our production process.

Almost done with this episode; I don't get why the moto industry doesn't give guys like Buttery more love/attention. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that a huge section of the moto customer base are guys who like to go out riding in the hills and open areas around where we live, mixed in with trips to the track or local OHV/dunes area. Yeah, we're not going nearly as big or as stylish, but we are that guy. We are buying bikes, parts, and gear, and when the industry ignores the Buttery's they're kind of ignoring a sizeable section of the weekend rider customer base. Just my opinion, and I wish it would change.
Everyone pretty much started that way, but when they get to cooperate sponsors a lot of them forget where they came from

I see Buttery Films in the future as like a digital magazine that everyone knows and likes, they’re getting bikes from the manufactures and testing them and doing shootouts, still doing the cool shit and making the sport even bigger and reporting on the racing from a major inside perspective while all the riders like them. I describe it this way and it makes sense to some people ……. When I was 7 the most peak fun I had was going to Disney world one time. My buddy got a bike, a 1982 XR 80 , and after a week or two he let me ride it and that was it. I woke up the next day and said to my mom “mom it’s like as if I can wake up and be in Disney world every single day all day if you get me a bike. Only more fun. “. Of course we were super poor so it was years. But somehow they did pull it off one day.
That was 35 years ago and I just got my new bike Saturday but these days it’s an adventure bike for the old man. Only hobby in my life that I’ve never gotten tired of. Not even a little.
I was there when the Huntington riots! Took off! Me and some other mates from Tasmania were staying out there and riding for a month or so. Good times

Two of the biggest reasons I got back into riding
had to pause and comment...where you guys were talking about working as a teen to buy a bike so no one could tell you know brought back a heavy memory!!! I STILL remember the day, i was like 8 or 9 which would of been 98-99...now that im thinking of it..maybe earlier, but yea i woke up mad early before my parents and dragged all my dads lumber out of the garage, just random 2x4s 2x8s full planks and had it all set up in the driveway next to the road on saw horses with a sign that said "$5 a board" and he woke up and looked out the window and was NOT stoked!! hahahaha...i remember my mom just asking me "what were you thinking?" and all i said was "trying to make money to buy a dirt bike!"
I love moto! I remember growing up playing with toy dirt bikes and watching sx and I wanted a bike so badly and the dream came true, I think I was 10 maybe. Anyhow I'm 31 now and I couldn't imagine were my life would be without the industry. Buttery is a cool dude love his stuff and his passion, Dean is such a good dude I met him when he moved to Cali when he was on 85s still love his family

Buttery is the man! It would be super cool if Gypsy tales did an episode with a fan that’s just like a weekend/average rider to get that perspective! Could be his version of a giveaway to give back to people that watch the channel that would probably never otherwise get interviewed or give the thoughts on the sport from a consumer view!

Damn I’m so old I was born in 91 an started racing with my best friend in 2 an 3 grade till I had brain surgery an broke my neck an now have 4 screws in my skull and 3 1/2 inches of my right temporal loab and 3 screws an 2 plates in my spine I had to give it all up it’s just not worth it anymore I love my life an girls way to much lol

Idk if this the same for dirtbikes but bmx for me is the only place i felt free, nobody could tell me what to do, where to go. Nothing it was the ultimate freedom the. Rush was cool but the freedom of being able to pedal wherever i wanted and then the freedom of jumping on and off anything i wanted was true freedom to me
hearing this podcast is awesome. we legit started buying a bunch of pitbikes and built a track in our yard. i love to rip it myself but the whole opportunity for kids to ride if theyre parents cant afford it is all worth it. we charge nothing. do it solely for the growth ofthe sport and an attempt to get the kids off the phones n games.

saw a kawasaki ad when i was 4, wanted a bike for the longest time, got a bike and started racing at 14, were a different breed i feel like our love for riding is 10x more than most of these facility kids who are getting burnt out

Buttery content has something special about it. I can't quite put my finger on it. But it is totally positive. You finish one, and feel good. The guys remind me of guys i knew growing up. And without being stalker weirdo, I feel like I know 'em. Probably my favorite subscription ATM. Plus I build and ride , and live in SoCal SFV NOHO....So it's automatically going to be naturally interesting.

Like how y’all talked about giving kids the opportunity to ride by either after school or what not mean a buddy mind actually started a ministry where they would come and have a preacher come and preach to them and then after they would preach that go downstairs and eat put on gear and then go out and ride all three of charge all free of everything. It’s been going on strong for 4 years now 4 months out the year every Thursday and Friday of the week.
