O say, can you see, By the dawn's early light, what so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming, whose broad stripes and bright stars,, through the perilous fight, o'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. O say, does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I miss WRIF radio...I remember there werent many cars who didnt have a WRIF bumper sticker on it...and I even had one on my mirror and walls in my bedroom.
To the best of my knowledge, the only stations to use O Canada from Detroit were WKBD channel 50, beginning back in ther days as a Kaiser station, and WTVS channel 56, the public tv station.
well, I really liked the fact that our TV stations in the US would close down for the night & restarted on-air the next day, also I commend them for playing the National Anthem or something patriotically similar to that effect. now all TV stations throughout the US r going 24-hour mode. Well, I have 1 more thing to say: what the heck happened to those times?
Who cares. The government is crooked, cares only about money and sneakily passing questionable laws while they think we're not paying attention. I am happy we have rights, and there's brave veterans that sacrifice a lot, but who wants to support a corrupt government? Besides only boomers, the silent generation and gen Xers regularly sit in front of the TV set. I haven't watched tv in over a decade.

I love the Circle 7 logo that station used to use.
They still use it but it's kinda merged with the abc logo in it.
It was also used in other big markets.

Detroit, like Buffalo, is close to Canada. No Canadian anthem, though?
i bet that som people were PO with the fact that WXYZ, WWJ, and a few other stations did not play there national anthem at sign on and sign off.

It was the Detroit Market's 2nd Station.1st it was WWJ (Now WDIV) & began as Michigan's very 1st TV Station on 6/3/1947.
