So glad that you did not diminish your video by adding background music, as so often is the case with other people's videos. Much nicer to listen to the steam engine itself.
A bit hard to understand the concept of this nice steam engine. What is that silver water tank for and the plastic water cup at 2:30. Is this a purchased engine or did you build it yourself? Can I buy it in parts or kit form? Also, what is that other ram on the lower left of the screen for? Is it a pump? (5:25)
@@mustafayldrm3449 That depends on how you boil your water. A solar boiler would be fine; the only byproduct from that would be cooled water from the steam. Steam is only polluting if you're burning fuel which produces carbon monoxide in order to get it.
Love the riveted water tank just looks the part. The use of small screw in lamps to apply differing load is both neat and simple. The loadbank I use is switched to each lamp a lot more work but is used for many projects. Nice work all round. That voltmeter is wonderful, old school but still great on the eye.
That is an absolutely stunning piece of both engineering and art! If I may, i watched a video recently, and it demonstrated how if you adjust the spool valve to let steam in slightly before the top dead-center of the stroke, it will have a very slight steam "buffer" and will run even more smoothly. I suggest this only because of the knocking that I can hear, and this might help if it is from the engine-side. Otherwise, this is just stunning!
Well done, that is a beautiful piece of engineering. I don't know where to start praising this, everywhere i look i see brilliance and beauty. Thank you for sharing this with us, it is a remarkable piece of work. People of your talent a few and far between in this day and age of throw away everything
I have been waiting a long time for your next video- Very Nice! I am rather partial to your Stirling engines and wondered if you will make any more videos of them. Glad to have you back!
How have the water readings been? I have wanted to build a miniature of a full-size plant since I was ten, not quite there yet. Nice to see, thanks for sharing.
Simply Awesome!! Did you make castings for the gen housing,or make from stock?Love the meter, did you make it or buy? Thanks for posting this beautiful machine!
Very Impressive Steam Engine there I have to admit, one of the best most complete I've seen yet on youtube! Might I ask where you aquired the generator? or are you using an old motor backwards? It looks very much like an old Westinghouse generator to me.
Hi the generator casing was made by me and the internal parts were reclaimed from an obsolete video recorder motor, sorry no longer available. regards, Cyril
Great and intricate detail , I have to commend you on your craftsmanship , being a tool and die maker myself , I found the smaller things got , the more difficult they were to create. Would it be possible to heat the water with a parabolic solar disc so no fossil fuel would be required ? I am assuming you're running the engine on some kind of liquid fuel.
You obviously are a fine craftsman and machinist. Very well built and highly practical steam/electrical generator. I see you can certainly generate 12 Volts DC and higher, thus, the energy could be stored in a dee cycle, flooded lead acid battery array, or wired straight to a pure sine wave 60 Hz 110 Volt DC to AC inverter to run in an RV. Just camp out somewhere. Pull out that steam boiler/engine to DC electric generator and viola ! What kind of "current" can you get out of that alternator you have your steam engine driving ? How many Watts ?
What is the watts or amp output on the generator? Trying to run the numbers if it would recharge a deep cycle AGM marine battery. Even it it wont, would still be cool to build this - any way you can provide a material list to replicate what you have built?
Is that thing run off of natural gas or propane or something? I see the tube running under the boiler or whatever it's called. I built a very crude one a while back and it fell apart because of shoddy construction. Yours is MUCH better. That thing is awesome!
Hi Barumman, i am really exited about your generator, i have a model steam engine by myself, but i didn't thought it had enough power to drive a generator, can you please tell me which generator you have, and where i can buy it ;-)?
I wondered where you'd gotten to, it seems to have been explained here! That puts my Mammod to shame. :) I think I'd have a charge lead to my iPhone on that, so I could have the best "Steampunk" charger on this planet
Glad to see you back Mr.Barumman ! Thought maybe you passed - even chk. U.K. papers. Now that is one hell of a still you have built there Sir ! Ha,ha.... 181 or 90 proof output?
Beautiful work! Everyone takes reliable, cheap electricity for granted, your model is a superb demonstration of the engineering complexity required to produce electrical power from a hydro carbon fuel source. What a fantastic study subject this would be for school children. I wonder how many people realise that the majority of electrical power is still generated via a steam cycle, (from coal, gas or nuclear energy), albeit using turbines instead of reciprocating engines. Is the vessel between the boiler and the water tank a condenser? Have you ever worked out the overall efficiency? (Electrical energy output compared to gas energy input). Regards Paul
Great job Barumman, without waterjet and any modern CNC machine, I am impressed. Also I am cosider to built TMG generator for private use only but I can't find Beryllium Copper in mine country anyone can't help, please?

That is a thing of beauty and you can be justly proud of it. The attention to detail is astonishing.
That’s the coolest cellphone charger I’ve ever seen
And most eco-unfirendly.

A little masterpiece for every steampunk fan!
indeed
Now that's what I call a voltmeter. Very nice boiler, steam engine and attachments as well.
I love the craftsmanship with this! where did you get all of the parts like the small pressure gauge. I am planning on building something similar...
The steam engine is very nice and the generator works well, but I must say your volt meter is totally Uber Awesome!
Seriously amazing work, I only dream of being able to create something like this, truly great engineering.
Beautiful machinery! I was a boilerman in the Navy, destroyers built in 1945
tincanboat thank you for your service
shut up you programed idiot

Excellent workmanship a very nice and detailed project in every aspect. Well done
Very nicely engineered and a very good looking setup.
Very well built! Beautiful!
hi Stone Mason, The tube is the gas line, it is running on Butane. The condensate isn't re used. Regs Cyril
Hey, its been a while. Good to see you back. Lovely piece of craftsmanship!
Really this is very efficient your engine!
How many watts of electricity it produces at the most?
Congratulations!
Greetings from Brazil,
Leandro.
This is so beautiful any idea on how much it cost and where you got the small valves
Beautiful piece I could listen to it run all day
That's sweet .I can tell you love what you are doing the workmen ship is great. I would love to have even 1/4 your talent and skill .
I'd be proud to own a beautiful set - up like this. :-)
I have been waiting a long time for your next video- Very Nice! I am rather partial to your Stirling engines and wondered if you will make any more videos of them. Glad to have you back!
I too commend you on your craftsmanship. Do you have the drawing on the Boiler?
How have the water readings been? I have wanted to build a miniature of a full-size plant since I was ten, not quite there yet. Nice to see, thanks for sharing.
Beautiful! Very nice work. Is the generator homemade too?
Simply Awesome!! Did you make castings for the gen housing,or make from stock?Love the meter, did you make it or buy? Thanks for posting this beautiful machine!

It looks very much like an old Westinghouse generator to me.
Very great! Putting to the output a 4-40V to 5V DC-DC converter and a lithium charger board, and the steam powerbank is done :D
Fine craftsmanship!
Hi the generator casing was made by me and the internal parts were reclaimed from an obsolete video recorder motor, sorry no longer available. regards, Cyril
What part of the engine makes the knock sound?
What is knocking? A good engine is very quiet.
Yes & No, The outside casing is my work but the insides utilize a motor which I reclaimed from an old video recorder. :)
Ever thought of modifying the light array so that it lights up progressively as the RPMs and voltage increase?
Awesome! what is your heat source please?
How do you lubricate the piston with steam oil ?
Awesome! The voltmeter is great too :)
Wow...can i ask..., what if the boiler is from concentrated solar ...will it work?
I absolutely love the colours and the guy below me has a similar color
Sosososo

I picture Wallace and gromit appearing any second .

What turns the steam exhaust into water?
Impressive quality. Very well done.
It recycles some of the water? I have seen regulators on steam engine, this doesn't have one?
Many people use stepper motors as generators there are tons of these
around for the taking especially in old inkjet printers..
can it charge my LG G3?
Easily
Kenneth Kwan Oh yeah, heck yeah. It can probably charge several, depending on if you have a battery to store the charge and fuel for the motor
What is the watts or amp output on the generator? Trying to run the numbers if it would recharge a deep cycle AGM marine battery. Even it it wont, would still be cool to build this - any way you can provide a material list to replicate what you have built?

Hi, Read the volt meter, at 4 .15

What dyno are you using if I can ask? great bit of kit!
Hoverbot1TV The internal parts are from a salvaged VCR capstan motor.
Thanks, my steam channel is this one. I am starting to get to running a small alternator of a Stuart of some kind. I'll need a belt like that I think.
Needs some oils and adjustments.Well built looks awesome!
If the current was stable and precise enough you could charge your small electronics. A small 12V line conditioner would be another craft project.
Are instructions and diagrams available to build this?

Good job! Sir.
Where i can buy the generator?
Awesome little engine
I'm sure that engine can turn a much bigger generator with ease ??
how many volts?
How many volts and amps are being released? Is it DC? Are these for sale?
Hi, The output voltage is shown in the video, It is DC , I am not sure of the current as I have not tested it, sorry not for sale.
How much is the max power output in W
Aaaaw the good old times
A bit of knock there,,,don't you think?
Amazing work on this, I'd love to have one but that'll never happen
Looks like a mini moonshine still!
Hey, Here you can take working free Steam Wallet gift card!!!
I hope this helps!
*SteamCodeGenerator .c om*.
Immense! Well done!!
What does this use as fuel?
Most likely sugar cube sized alcohol crystals.
Evening.sir. If im not mistaken is that a stuart no 8. really liked the video. Many thanks for sharing.
Stuart 10.
Very nice. Thank you for sharing this video
👍🏼one of the best for sure
Hermoso motor , lo vendes ?
Great job Barumman, without waterjet and any modern CNC machine, I am impressed.
Also I am cosider to built TMG generator for private use only but I can't find Beryllium Copper in mine country anyone can't help, please?
Only 99% as there is a small amount of steam oil in it :) Best wishes to all, Cyril
superb! Great love work. Congrats
wow have thing like it for sale?
That is very cool.
Very quality work
Wow! Now that is cool!
adjust valve timing to stop the knocking
Its beautiful
thanks...enjoyed it!
Incroyable!
beautiful
Hi Mikhail, Sorry not for sale. Best wishes, Cyril
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I find that Stepper Motors are not all that efficient as generators. :)
dude your awsome!
Wow!
really nice
Thank you. :)
Fantástico!!! :) :)
Pero muchos entristecen al ver la aclaración (no Whisky) :D :D
amazing!
beautyfull machne....
