I look forward MasterCam will provide those functions menu similar like Solidworks did, so extrude to irregular face, etc. will be helpful as well as simply to create. And MasterCam will be getting better and better.
I'm trying to make an cutted extrusion for stencil marking on a bottle, but the cuts is elongated on the edges, on Mcam2019 the projection wont work as you showed here?
I keep getting a 'solid is not coplaner' error whenever i try to use solid from surface on any curved surface. I havent been able to figure out how to get around it.
So, project the text onto the surface and then extrude normal to the face? As mentioned at the end of the video, this would be a bit tricky in Mastercam, SolidWorks is fairly easy using the Wrap function. Knowing more about what you are trying to do and what the end result needed is, would help come up with a solution in Mcam.
@@CamInstructor Extrusions can only be made from planar wireframe. So I think that would not work. I also just would open solidworks in that case and work there.
Thanks Mike. This is exactly what I was asking about.

Tough to guess without seeing a part.
Last time I did something like this I created an nci file from a tool path that cuts the letters flat then I projected that nci onto the surface.
Thanks you

Can you do a video on creating simple C++ scripts?
good vedios
Thanks sir

Hmmmm, those are all axial, how about radial from the center of the sphere? & they need a bottom with a profile that you can actually machine.

@@Paclanc Not everyone has SolidWorks. I can think of a few ways to do it in mcam, wouldn't work for all surface types though.
