I often make mascot logos in many ways but at first, I find ideas through design websites, then I look for a sample image or do a draft myself, then I find the right color, finally I synthesize and design the logo like this video.

I cut the shapes with the shift M shortcut
Hòa Just tried to do it, but it’s the shortcut for the square selection tool. Do you have other shortcuts than I do?
