  • This built-in coffee bar is one of my favorite IKEA hacks, and here's the longer tutorial!
We love our morning coffee and wanted a designated coffee bar, as well as cabinet storage for all of the things we use on a daily basis!
These IKEA built in cabinets met all of our goals - letting us have a small home bar, the best organizational cabinets, and something really pretty to look at every day!
Let me know what you think and if I missed any details!

Consider using polyurethane as a top coat for your painted furniture. Two coats preferably, satin finish, and it will act as a sealer for the paint. Seeing chipped paint drives me nuts!

How are they holding up now that this video is over a year old? I'm seriously considering painting a brand new IKEA kitchen with these same steps (though I may get a sprayer for the doors). It's a big investment for an entire kitchen and would love to know if the paint is holding up. Thanks!

Not only did you slay the cabinet makeover, you also slayed in your detailed, well-informed, and style of video. It's very unique and helpful the way you presented this video. I wish other would present their remodels like this. Awesome job! Thanks for sharing and explaining everything, including your mistakes. Most helpful.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but this video was just suggested to me :-) LOVE the built in look. May I suggest Ikea utrusta push openers for the higher cabinets? they work great and you wouldn't have to reach for the door knobs anymore (obviously keep the knobs for aesthetic reasons)..

I absolutely LOVE this setup! Who would know that these were Ikea cabinets? I’m sure this will add some value to your home because of the way that this is set up.

Thank you. Making a coffee bar with Ikea products and your quartz idea out remnants works. Love the wood details. Inspirational. Well done.

Thanks for sharing the cost and time and all the effort it takes to learn a new skill set. It looks easy in videos but in reality it’s hard work. I know from experience. I’ve started projects that I regretted half way thru, but gotta power thru it and learn from the experience and the mistakes. I keep reminding myself, DIY projects…. not my day job! 😂!

I'm looking for ideas on a built-in for my home office. This has truly inspired me. I can see myself taking some of these great ideas and implementing them. After all, every functioning office has a coffee pot! Nice job!!
