The Encre Noire line are my fragrances for life, well maybe the sport as it more versatile, but they're all gorgeous. I fine them utterly intoxicating 🖤

Love the Sport its so fresh and clean smelling and it seems to last well on my skin and the À L'extreme I tested for a week and finally got to know it and decided to pull the trigger as its so unique and the dry down is just class. I did not buy these for compliments but for my own enjoyment. :)

Yaay !! Encre Noire was my fragrance purchase alongside Armaf CDNIM, both blind buys. I still absolutely love Encre Noire to such an extent that it is the first thing I pack whenever I have to travel.
Edit : Encre Noire is a beast mode for me. Lingers a minimum of at least 8~10 hours. Also if I spray more than 4 times, I get an "old leathery purse opened for the first time in years" kind of a smell followed by a splitting headache.

Best cheap, I agree but puts down A LOOOOOOOT of super expensive fragrances as well. Love the entire line from Lalique and everybody can find something for their personality and mood.

There is no such thing as a pantry dropper frag. It’s ridiculous and insulting. Confidence and charm help more than a fragrance. The fragrance could help or work against you. Don’t buy into the PD bullshit

Nice review. It's not cheap brand only at discounters it's made cheap. The quality is excellent. Chanel Sycamore in bottle. Lalique is niche quality high end luxury designer perfume.
I personally own all three, and my favorite out of the three is L'Extrême. Love the smokey incense.

How smokey does it smell? Im looking for a earthy woody tar and smoky kind of perfume for my first perfume. Im having a tough time on choosing between the original and extreme.

Yes a very sensible review. I find your assessment on the longevity to be spot on for the original Encre Noire. I haven't tried the other two but I will be headed to the Lalique boutique here in NY to see if I can get a smell... and also to look at all of the amazing crystal. I have been wanting to buy one of these fragrances so I appreciate the review!

I own all three.. And I have to say the original is on another level, but again it's hard ranking them as they're elegant on there own.
Encre noire 👉🏾"The master piece" elegant woody smell.
Sport👉🏾 "The classy one" in its dry down phase it smells exactly like the OG but weak/faint.
A'l extreme👉🏾smells like an elegant wood workshop.
I have all 3 of them. I like Extreme best, but wear Sport the most.
Great price for the quality (at discounters).
Much like Caron, and Guerlain in the aspect.

Encre Noir is my most complemented fragrance. More than my Dior, Chanel, Armani and Hermès fragrances. And it was so much cheaper than those. 🤷🏾♂️

I have the Encre Noire À L' Extrême and it's very potent and suitable more to be worn in autumn or winter but I have worn it in spring and summer it just seems to be something I could pull off better in cooler weather !

Loved your review. I just bought ENS...love it and now am wondering whether I should get the classic EN as well. I love vetiver and would like to have something that carries the warm, earthy vetiver note. What do you think?

I would say Caron is for my taste better. But for the younger guys, i do understand why Lalique would be a better choice.

A very nice line of fragrances. Dumb reach, for me, as it has a very classy yet modern and uncomplicated smell dna. And, for the price, it really is a great buy.

All is good, but Chanel Sycomore came in 2016, while Encre Noire was already around in 2006. I'd be interested to know your opinion from female point of view (or smell, haha) what kind of a man (which type) would you see wearing Encre Noire?
I think encre Noire is for everyone just a casual with a bit of caracter fragrances,
However as for Sycomore as I was working for the brand I can assure you that they didn’t took inspiration from Lalique and actually I found the fragrances very different, sycomore has more depth, more classy, kind of that mature gentleman vibe to me and much more smokier dry vetiver !
Hm, interesting. So, basically it’s a George Clooney type of fragrance (probably along with Givenchy Gentleman Boisee). I wonder what Elon Musk or Jack Dorsey types would wear - someone who made it big in IT; aged but still free-spirited; geeky, so someone who doesn’t really care about appearances, money or material possessions; can easily afford a rolls Royce but prefers cycling in London; workaholic - often sleeping on a boardroom couch. Minimalist. A guy who has 7 identical black T-shirts in his wardrobe, so that he doesn’t have to spend his time or attention on superfluous decisions. In short, a very weird (unique) and a very mixed bag.
It would be great to do an episode - fragrances by job types (I haven’t seen anyone doing it).
