- Matsuri does another legendary Apex Gacha opening where all her fans agree to shower her with as much super chats and memberships as they can. The red super chats I showed in this video are just a very tiny portion of how many superchats there were in total through out the whole 2h 30min stream. All in all, it's a wholesome stream where the fans just show their love and appreciation to Matsuri all at once.
The ending is enough to make any Matsurisu cry :')

I seem to have misunderstood the ending here in terms of how much she earned, I thought she was talking about how many super chats she got as a value, but it seems, thanks to some people in the comments, that it's actually how much she earned in Yen. So she earned around 5 Mil yen in the whole stream (~£36k, ~$48k )

asian people like china and japan use numeric 10.000 as their biggest count.
so if 1 million they said hyaku man (JP) / ippai wan (CN) = 100 x 10.000
this context matsuri said 200 on last stream = 200 x 10.000 , on this stream 500 = 500 x 10.000

I was glad to see so much support for Matsuri this stream, also from all these people who aren't part of her usual core audience. It's a nice showing of support from the Hololive community as a whole.

I always want to join in on these SC festival's but I'm always asleep when she streams and usually I don't want her apex streams since I don't like the game itself, so I usually donate on her random streams

But....there was a time when she talked about how she chose..iirc...a more defensive playstyle for apex, and there were ppl that were mean about it....that she was not good and stuff. And it really hurt her cuz she really liked apex. Though her hololive members were supportive of her.....to see others berate her for a game was hard. She kinda cried on the stream too. So I'm glad so many ppl sent her superchats....wish I could have too but I only recently subbed to Matsuri. Shows that the ones who were nasty to her are insignificant in comparison.

It was heartbreaking not reaching pity early (her pity timer is currently in the 420s/500), scrounging for every last scrap of money she can get. Though I'm surprised she had a lot of money left since she had a date (offline-collab) with Hoshikawa and dinner dates with Lamy(more than once) just recently.

Matsuri's Apex Gacha is truly entertaining because of those donators and thank you for translating this, it makes me hard to read and understanding some JP in the stream.
I think it's just hard to find a time to superchat Matsuri, so when it happens, people go all out with the accumulated appreciation that she has earned over time.

I'm happy for her but i really, really don't get why people would throw the seriously big bucks during a gacha stream...
I mean, comparing it to recent big events: Miko's return live, suisei's 500k celebration live, pekora reaching 1m subs... This stream's SC amount still tops those.
These gacha events are one of the wierdest Hololive phenomenon, and to a minor extent, also applies to other members who do/did gacha streams (Choco-sensei when she was pulling for Lifeline's heirloom, though definitely not to this extent). Even the comments themselves have inside jokes as running gags (ex. First time viewer donating red SC, living on beansprouts, etc.) and would morph into whatever memetic tsukkomi or SC (運/un: luck vs poop pun) comes out.
Matsuri's personal milestones also pale in comparison to these gacha streams.
While she's ultimately thankful for the SCs, Matsuri herself is not fully supportive of this gacha superchat phenomenon, preferring for the people to allot them in the proper channels (as you said, in celebration/milestone streams). Her approach is simply to roll with the punches and her way of tackling these head-on is to do rapid-fire tsukkomi towards superchats coming her way, where a lot of the entertainment value comes from (at least in my experience).
You can hear from her tsukkomi routine time and again, that people to take care of their money, that the people sending SCs should prioritize themselves first, especially since they're sending copious amounts of money, especially the 上限突破ニキ/limit bros (those who donate up to the allowable or past the superchat limit).
Japan loves gacha. They always throw money at this stuff regardless Who the streamer is. A celebration stream would reach that streamer's fans. A gacha stream attracts outsiders.
