John Bonham - the original drummer of Led Zeppelin did pass away in 1980 at which point the surviving members of the band decided to not continue as a band. Without Bonzo, the band would never be the same. This was a one-off concert performed by the surviving members of Led Zeppelin (Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones) and featuring the son of John Bonham - Jason Bonham on the drums. You are correct.
You are correct, it was Jason Bonham on the drums. His father, John was the original drummer. The band disbanded when he died. This was a one time reunion concert. Fun fact is that this concert has the world record for ticket requests. Over 20 million.
As old as they are here they are STILL the greatest! Do some live performances!! Jason Bonham did his father proud in this concert!
In fact what i saw and felt was his father was present there. Tha way he played it was the way john 7sed to play. Paranormal but magic moment.

Robert plant still does shows! He was collaborating with Allison Krause and made several albums!
They are the best band that ever walked the face of the Earth 🌍 they are most definitely the number one ROCK GODS, be careful of the rabbit hole that you're about to go into they had so many awesome songs I can't even count them all

Good to see you GET it- the power, the grace, the charisma, the Blues of Led Zeppelin. Robert was still appearing in the US with Alison Krauss on tour a couple months ago, maybe still? Jonesy just released a remake of "Levee" for Song Around the World. Robert did some stunning world beat Rock in 2017 with the Sensational Space Shifters (Carry Fire, Little Maggie) on YT. Hi from Canada- Peace, love and bellbottoms.

You guys need to do a deep dive with Zeppelin. You might as well jump in. Start from the beginning, but buckle up, cause you're going to need it.
This was a once off performance 20+ years after John Bonham died, with his son Jason on drums. Led Zeppelin in their 60's (plus Jason) was still better than any other band around even though they hadn't played together in all those years. Page and Plant did play together and toured once or twice during that time. Check out Whole Lotta Love Live from 1973! Or for that matter, absolutely any live by Zeppelin!
I would suggest you check out Zeppelin doing Kashmir in 1979 at Knebworth. It was within a year of John Bonham’s death. Yes this was a Jason Bonham filling in for his Dad. This was their last performance as LED Zeppelin, in 2007.
When it was announced on the radio that Led Zeppelin was going to perform this one special night, it broke world records of the most requested ticket for a concert in a couple of hours. Unfortunately this was the last time that the living 3 member ever was on staged together to perform. 😭

If I remember correctly, Richard Branson the Virgin airline guy, offered them $800,000,000 to do about 3 dozen shows. Jimmy, John Paul and Jason were in. Robert turned it down.
Powerful, yes, that's Led Zeppelin. Three musical instruments and a voice. Best rock band to grace the earth without a doubt, and their music is timeless. That's why there were 20 million requests for tickets to this concert (breaking the world record) to see them in person almost 30 years after they disbanded. Just subbed hoping you do regular reactions to Zeppelin because I've enjoyed the ones you've done so far.

No that was the only show they did together there was 20,000,000 requests for tickets for a venue that holds 20,000. But Jimmy and Robert got together in the 90s this show was in 2007

Absolutely! Jason is an absolute beast on the drums. Drummers play such a crucial role in a band's sound and energy, and Jason definitely takes it to another level. He's a powerhouse that elevates the entire performance. 🥁🔥
Bonzo died early, members decided to disband, he was an intricate part. Many of their songs revolve around him, very interesting documentaries out there.
Son Jason grew up around these guys and followed in dad's "drumbeats." Surely Bonzo smiles proudly. Jason wears his dads Boller hat too, Google John Bonham, you will see him in hat.
This band is forever the G.O.A.T, mine anyway.

This is not 9 years ago, it's 15 years ago and was a one off concert. The band broke up in 1980 when drummer John Bonham died. Page and Plant Members did perform together occasionally after that for specific tours (one was acoustic) but they no longer perform together and have not done so since this concert. The surviving 3 band members have separately performed with other musicians since, but not together.
Loved this version.....just fantastic .

40 years after the fact
Try “In my time of Dying” live at Earls Court in 1975 and “Dazed and Confused “ live at MSG in 1973. These guys were powerful artists, all musically head and shoulders above what everyone else was doing at the time. Plus these guys were animals. Their live shows would last for three hours without an opening act. I could go on also about how they revolutionized the relationship between musical artists and record labels but I will leave that to someone else.

Yes it is true that is Bonzo son that is why they played as Led Zeppelin that night. When Bozo's son is not drumming for them they are known as Page and Plant never Led Zeppelin. He does his father Justice on every Led Zeppelin song.
You watch Song Remains the Same Movie you will see that same drummer playing with them at 5 or 6 years old
They did this reunion for just one night only,they practiced for 2yrs prior to the show, it made the band a fanominal amount of money in concert ticket sales and album and vidio sales,I have the Mothership box set..it is stored away for safe keeping because this will never happen again with the mighty LED ZEPPELIN...monetarily, this concert changed Jason Bonhams life according to his God Father, Robert Plant.
