    My all time favorite is a 1982 es347. Blonde with all the goodies. I can make almost any sound out of that guitar. ES guitars are awesome. Coolest looking also.

    The 1" thick maple block under the 225's bridge is by far the most substantial factor when comparing to a 125. Fatter neck profiles also. Completely different beasts, certainly more than bling level.

    Yes Norm please make these educational video's. I learn a lot of nuances between models I didn't know. Every video expands my knowledge base just that much more. Thanks and keep them coming.

    Having recently visited Norm's guitar, someone should petition USC or UCLA to award Norm with honorary Ph.D. in music and influence. Mark an honorary MBA as he can't outshine the boss. The store exceeded my expectations, friendly staff and Norm signed my book which was awesome. I am trying to convince my wife to let me buy a Strat or Les Paul from Norm, Best guitar channel on youtube.

    Thanks for the tour there. I wish you were not the other side of the Atlantic.... but hey, my dream ES would be 335, P90 pu.s, Varitone, Bigsby, Natural, slimmer (shallower) neck. I don't think one was ever made ;-) Varitone on 2 with both pick ups on and all the other knobs maxed.... as sweet as it gets…. 'magine that. Maybe Gibson is watching...?!

    That 335 looks amazing. On that we-have-more-hidden-stuff note: you should hire an IT team to get all your inventory up-to-date (and live) in a database and post on a new website and app. The current site is hard to navigate, outdated, and needs more pictures and details per item. I bet there is a ton of more money you could make if potential buyers only knew you had their desired gear. Not everybody lives in sunny CA and around the corner, or wants to call in just to check if maybe what they want is in stock. You can always choose not to post prices. Look into user alerts so you know what to procure: just require enough personal data that you only get serious inquiries. All the best

    Far, far, be it ever from me, in my small and humble opinion, but maybe I misunderstood Norm when he said anything above a 330 was blocked, maybe he’s only referring to vintage, but a 14 inch 390, with all the bells and whistles is most definitely hollow. I’m looking at one three feet away and boy I’m so glad. Peace, Rocky

      I've been asking for it too. I have one and it is an incredible instrument. Jo Bonamassa often remarks on how important it is to use the volume controls correctly (instead of always playing with it on full). The 125 is a classic example, gentle and jazzy at lower volumes and a rip snorting' rock and roll guitar when you turn it up. you don't need to add any gain because the combination of the P-90s and the hollow body combine to give you all of the power you could ask for. A truly versatile instrument. Snag one if you ever get the chance.

    Norm, I believe the 225 also has a different (stronger) neck joint than a 125? From what I heard, some 125s developed problems with neck joint over the years, whereas 225s are usually solid. Can you confirm or deny?

    Thanks for the class, Norm. Are you losing weight?

  • @j_freed
    @j_freed 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would dig that .cherry 1963 with the Bigsby, whether it has Pat #s or PAFs would make very little difference to me. It could be a combination in the two positions.
    The 345 has that cool Varitone but this added hardware makes the guitar a bit heftier.
    I wonder if that Gibson logo on the others is gold leaf, or if it's just gold toned paint applied by silkscreen.
