The area before Dawnstar was littered with dragon skeletons lmao

Hey Gopher! Not sure if you’re aware but there’s an updated Skyrimsouls that fixes the CTDs. I remember reading a comment from you a few weeks ago saying you wished you could play with it. I’m 110 hours into a playthrough with it and haven’t had any issues from it. I have to say it makes thieving a lot more intense! making sure the coast is clear while you pick a lot is something I wish i’d always had to do. or picking a pocket before someone just walks away..
Probably. Cults rarely encourage independent thought thought or action and from Miraak's point of view, sending a few of his loyal followers to at least try and squash this upstart Dragonborn before they get too powerful should have no down side. Of course had he not sent them, Leonard would not have known anthing was amiss and likely never come to Raven Rock leaving Miraak free to make his grand return. As a wise tortoise once said, "One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it."
@@nicholascross3557 I was thinking that it might have been Herma Mora Mimicking Miraak in hopes of attracting a "Replacement". It's just that Miraak seems a bit surprised when he sees you in Apocrypha.
@@vincegalila7211 Being a bit surprised is not unreasonable, you survived his cultists, you came to Solstheim, you got to his Temple, you invaded his inner sanctum to access the Black Book that is the only entrance to that part of Apocrypha he resides in. However, he then commits the classic villain error of _not just killing you_ when he has the chance, instead he chooses to flex his Dragon Aspect and leaves throwing you out to his minions. He then compounds his error by taunting your Dragonborn by killstealing dragon souls. I wouldn't rule out Mora being behind things, he's ever the schemer but I do think it unlikely.

I you want to visit another island, its called Vominheim. A mod, it looks quite good. I tried it and it ran great. And my expectations were exceeded, in terms of my being very pleasantly surprised at all there was to see.

You must be new here. Yes Leonard is not a nice man and yes it is intentional. Leonard is the guild master for the Thieves Guild and Listener to the Dark Brotherhood. That should tell you everything you need to know about the character of Leonard. The character Richard playthrough was the polar opposite.

@@rueisblue I've been following the playthrough since the beginning and just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt or convince myself he's written to be the sort of anti-hero you end up liking. At this point I'm still not believing he's either a hero or anti-hero at all. Maybe I'm just old and easily annoyed, but Leonard never makes me laugh when he's being a clever jerk. He just ends up making me hate him.
Yes, it's very intentional. If you are looking for a hero you should watch the "Richard" playthrough. It was phenomenal. He isn't the most likeable hero at first, because like Leonard he begins his journey not wanting to be a hero, but that is Gopher's style. Some of his non-Skyim LP's have even more stereotypical hero characters. I think it probably has to do with how many times he has played a game. He seems to do a typical "good guy" character on his blind LP's (Fallout 4, for example) but when he knows a game really well he goes with something different.
