Agreed. I love SBS but the performance captured here isn’t very good :/ it sounds like the two singers maybe couldn’t hear themselves or something? The dude is like straight up shouting lol. Could’ve been an off color day, I’ve seen them live before and they sounded great.
IMO in the first song it was pretty off, but afterwards it improved a lot. + The slightly off singing makes it humane and sympathetic in a way, and doesn't take away from the overall great sound and vibe
I saw them in Phoenix last night w Subsonic Eye/Betting on the End, Soft Blue Shimmer is a MUST see.... They are so f*cking good, I was trying to venmo Meredith for a shirt and was in such a daze from them and subsonic that for a good 5 mins I didn't even register that there was a QR code for their venmo right there on the table lol, also to all drummers out there, take notes from this guy ;) he's a legit master of his craft, every hit is filled w so much passion
I think it's the headphones. Both of them actually have really beautiful live voices-but that can be totally thrown off in studio if you're not used to performing live with headphones/in-ears.
