- Another one of those wild and interesting games from Taito back in the day. Here is a look at Bonze Adventure aka Jigoku Meguri for the arcade. It's a fun one but you've gotta play by it's rules 😀
Taito were masters of arcade platformers.
100%! I almost wish they would continue to make their compilation disks for old arcade games again like they did on the PS2
You can tell this is a Taito game a mile off, it has that chibi Rainbow Islands art style they loved! :)
For sure. Taito games are just about as recognizable as the Konami ones lol
@@lukemorse1 IT's a shame they completely forgot about the style when creating remakes of their games.
That Xbox 360 remake of Rainbow Islands looked awful.
@@Larry It can't be worse than the PSP Rainbow Islands. For the most part, I trust Taito, but they sure had some misses.
As an old soul person for 1992 Luke, this is straight up heavy gold nostalgia yo.
Haha, glad I can give you another blast back to the past there Jacob! Will try to find more when I can
Lucky Luke strikes again. Cheers from Transylvania!
It's the season so I thought I would put up a few games relevant to the month of October! Thanks Peter!
just like the pain of underwater levels, the pain of ice levels are right up there in older games.
Lol, TMNT water level comes to mind back in the day on the nes
_"YOU STILL NEED TRAIINING"_ apparently. Says the machine that doesn't know how to spell or use spaces!
Great video as always Luke!
Haha! Another one of those "all your bases are belong to us" moments in history. Gotta love it. Thanks PS!
a cross between GnG and Wardner
Definitely! Although Wardner by itself had some points that were just as bad as GnG. Some of those jumps come to mind lol
Another great game Luke! 😀👍
Excellent job keeping this rare gem working. I hope I can find the PC engine version soon.
Yey!
The return of the "Psssshhh"
👍
Lol, it's one of those things that just Psssshhh's it's way into the vids when it can😂 thanks Cahos!
It's just one of those things I Absolutely Love about your games and Repairs videos, along with the vivid descriptions of things that would otherwise smell nasty and/or awful. As such I still really wish those braniacs developing cutting edge technologies would hurry up and come out with smell o'vision already instead of futzing with AI which almost everyone doesn't even care about.
I really, really want to be able to smell flux, soldering smoke and nasty bug remains as luke is working on the PCBs he's working on God damn it!
Call me having a bizarre hobby I don't care LOL! 😂
Definitely it doesn't sound right when you're trying to explain that ball weapon and a blue creature like spermatozoid appears floating on screen. 😂
Good game btw! 👍
Haha, I knew it wasn't going to come out right from the beginning there 😂 and the spermatozoid didn't help either. Glad it was a little entertaining though
13:15 Dante Alighieri's Inferno (of the Divine Comedy series) defined the lowest layer of hell to be be an icy wasteland, so the idea has been around for a while.
A cool game this one Luke, and a great version available on the PCEngine too 👏😎👌
no pcengine version is bad, far away from arcade version
Thanks man! Yeah, the PC engine version is the earlier one and an absolute classic for sure 😁🎉
system16 says this game is from 1988.
It essentially looks like a slightly more elaborate Wardner.
The first version on the PC engine was from that time but a few years later they came out with the arcade. This is probably the discrepancy. Both versions are great though!
@@ShapeyFienddefinitely has similar vibes for sure. I need to put up a vid on that game as well!
The person who made this one later on did Ico and Shadow of Colossus for PS2.
Luke, do you own a Wonder Boy board? Just curious, was the game vertical or horizontal? Thanks for any info.
Thanks for the message. Years ago I had a wonderboy arcade board I was repairing (I might have put up a video on it) but I sold it off. The game was horizontal
Cheers Luke, I may have watched that video. I'll have a look if I asked you the same question back then lol.
