Location: San Juan Mountains, Colorado. Near Silverton
Type: 16 mile out-and-back trail.
Features: Mountain scenery, abandoned mines, alpine lake, wild flowers, forests, some rock and dirt.
Clear Lake is an easy out-and-back trail near Silverton Colorado. It climbs to nearly 12,000 feet to an alpine lake which gives the trail its name. While short and not technically demanding, Clear Lake offers a variety of scenery and a glimpse into local mining history.

There is a campground just below the climb to the mountain. As for around the trail, you'd have to look at a map to see if it's in a dispersed camping area.
