Serenade is one of the best smaller ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet. It's our favorite. Especially the schooner and safari areas. Great for pictures, entertainment and just hanging out.

We were on the Alaskan cruise aboard the Nieuw Amsterdam 9/11-9/18. I love that the buffets aren’t “help yourself”. Holland is completely hands off, they even get the plates, load them with what you want and hand it to you.
I saw your ship sailing by Port Angeles. I just pieced it together lol. I was staying in an airbnb that had a view of the water and we sat there watching the ship, I have pictures of it. I knew the timing was right, went back and checked the photo details on my phone; September 6th 8:40pm, small world lol. I've only just started getting into cruising, still haven't been on a real one (did a 3 night concert cruise once, all ran by warped tour) yet. Anyway love the vlogs. Started watching because I was doing research on a particular ship, which lead to me watching a few more, which lead to me going back to 2020 and watching all the vlog series! Thanks for the great videos!

Next year we are booked on Serenade of the Seas and the Jewel of the Seas...I thought it was funny that you said they remind you of each other...these are our FIRST Royal sailings. ( We have done 14 on Carnival.)
Our kids lived in Anchorage for years now in Fairbanks . We have never cruises to Alaska but have been everywhere in Alaska by land ,during winters and falls and summers. So fun by land . Lots to do and after 12 times going there we just seen just a fraction you can do .

I will tell you one thing you missed on the room tour, the mirrors on the side of the main mirror in the main part of the cabin (Not washroom) open for even more storage. That's where I hid the snacks from hubby.

I really appreciate your videos taking us through your trip. I’m going to AK on Ovation on the 24th, God willing. I booked the holiday inn express when I heard you talk about the $15 cruise shuttle and I feel a little less stressed about my impending Covid tests (I scheduled 2 just in case) since Royal Caribbean will possibly have a testing facility on site for my embarkation in case there is some sort of problem. Anyhow thanks again for all the good info!!!

You'll love a land trip in AK. I did a land tour of AK, 8/31/21 - 9/11/21 after my Southbound AK cruise was cancelled for the 3rd time. I had a great time. We went from Anchorage to Seward to Palmer (Matanuska Glacier hike) to Denali to Fairbanks (Artic Circle fly and drive) and then back to Anchorage to fly home. As pretty as Alaska is especially Denali and Highway 1 by Matanuska Glacier the coast area (i.e. Seward) really resonated with me. I will visit AK again to do a combo land tour of the coastal areas and then take a southbound cruise. I'd love to visit Valdez, Whittier, and Homer to do some fishing before I get on the cruise ship.
6:45 is the earliest for My Time?!! I would have to switch to early seating especially since my body would also be on Eastern Time zone. I like to be finished eating by 7pm or so.
We just took this same ship in Oct 2021 from Tampa to go to Cococay. I didn't realize it also goes to Alaska. It makes sense since the solarium is enclosed. Love your vlogs. I have a video I made on my channel about my trip if you're interested. Either way, love you guys.

Talkeetna is wonderful- we had Northern lights visible in early September at the Princess Wilderness Lodge with a clear view of Denali.

Talkeetna is cute. You really only need an afternoon there on the way to/from Denali. We really liked Mountain High Pizza Pie in Talkeetna.
