On eBay they are in China for $25-30. Look at the turnover when searching/purchasing. My motor is 25-30 rpm at 12-15 volts.
I don’t recommend taking it more than 50 rpm. It will turn the handle too quickly and the cutting quality will drop (furrows on the surface will be visible, unless you turn it when the lathe chuck is rotated above 1000 rpm.

Больше 50 оборотов брать не советую. Слишком быстро будет ручку крутить и качество резки упадёт (будут видны борозды на поверхности, ну разве что протачивать тогда при вращении токарного патрона выше 1000 об/мин.

love this idea! i think the motor gear is a bit too small, the handle is rotating too slow to me. i would go to a little larger motor gear and that should allow for more handle speed. other than that thank you a lot for sharing!!

About the speed. You can't turn faster by hand. This speed of the motor, exactly what I (you) need for the smooth clear of waves surface. Of course passable to turn faster by hand, but it will be raw surface with line like after fine threads.

If the belt is connected, it is impossible to turn it manually. Therefore, this device is intended only for the last stage of finishing, the last couple of passes. And the initial processing, for example Morse MT, is turned by hand.
There is no need to always have a strap on the handle. Therefore, in everyday work the belt is removed.

Пока не знаю. Вообще это для чистовой финишной обработки, тоесть для последнего финишного прохода начисто. Так что там полюбому больше десятки и не снимают.
