In this video i demonstrate how to make sure firewalld.service is up and running as well as how to open ports and find out what ports are open as well as closing ports on Centos 7 and RHEL 7
Hello, If your asking me how to black a particular IP address, you could use this following command to do so. firewall-cmd --permanent --add-rich-rule="rule family='ipv4' source address='IP ADRESS/PREFIX' reject"
this opening doors, does it work for every situation where i need a client server connection between my linux machine and another ? -autoreverse ? from client to server and server to client ?
becouse if i do netstat -an | grep LISTEN on my linux , ans is just in listen , but i have a firewalld running, i have to open the door as you have showed here , is it true ? if not the client server connection doesnt work.. thanx in advance , i ask for confirm.
So this is a way to open and close ports. You might have firewalld running and that is fine but you may have most ports closed. This is a method to open certain ports or services.
Yes! Please! It is just a matter of going into the iptables file and making changes there, but there's syntax you can input obviously to quicken the process.

"open doors" is an expression i use to essentially say a port maybe listening or not. So in theory, yes you could.
